Located right next to Leiden station, it took us 20 minutes to get to the hotel from Amsterdam Schipol Airport. It's a 5 minute walk into the heart of beautiful Leiden. The rooms are comfortable and clean and most of the staff were very lovely. A couple of grumpy responses to questions, but hey we're all human! Delicious breakfast, but I'd go into Leiden to eat dinner.
We booked a room for 3, 2 adults and a child. No problem at all, they gave us a nice room with 4 beds. A nice, airy room, a lot of light, it was completely OK. True enough, the wardrobe was awkwardly placed, so the door didn't completely open and was just a bit small for the wheelchair to pass, but we managed. And we slept early, because the child was tired. Around 3 AM, we woke up. A constant beep. Annoying and very present. Around 4 AM, I caved in and went downstairs. Could they help us? They were very willing, but alas... no earplugs, no other suggestions, we had to endure it. In the morning, they told us they would look into it. When they entered our room, there was no beep. Not weird, if you consider it stopped around 5.30 am. But in the evening they did let us change rooms. With a better positioned wardrobe and a softer beep in the wee hours of the night. We were rather tired after 2 broken nights. Luckily, we bought earplugs during our visit to the town, so we did manage to fall back to sleep the second night. Breakfast is adequate, by the way. And the hotel is next to the station and next to the city centre, so you can do everything by foot. That was nice.
The hotel is very well located: in front of the railway station and next to the town centre. The reception was kind and professional, all the staff is fluently in English. The room was big, very clean and silent. The bathroom was big and modern with excellent shower products. Next to the entrance hall, there is a class bar with a good selection of wines and spirits. The breakfast was not included (16,50€ pp) but the buffet was that attractive that I could not resist. There is a large choice of juices, breads, salami and cheese, teas, a wonderful way to begin the day. I was very satisfied of my stay.
Conveniently located, very close to Leiden centraal station. The road from the train station to the hotel can get pretty busy w/ bicycles and cars, especially during weekday peak time. Front staff who checked us in was nice. She gave us a map however, didn't give us any site-seeing tips. We approached a different staff whom we saw giving tips and got 'em sites circled onto our map instead(did come in handy!). Hotel facilities: -Once inside the hotel, I found the screens displaying the train timetable/ weather placed around the front desk leading up to the elevator hall quite useful. -Hotel had 2 elevators. Seemed quite old, the sounds and jolts were a bit scary. -Ice machine (free ice) available on the 2F (be sure to take a container). -Vending machine located on the 4F. -Smoking area w/ benches provided just outside the entrance. When leaving the hotel at a late hour, you'd need to have the front staff buzz you out as the entrance doors get locked. When (returning) entering, there's a button/ intercom on the left side of the rotating doors. (You'll be asked your room number so be sure to have it down!) -Room was large enough to open up 2 large pieces of luggage w/ no hassle, hair-dryer was stored under the sink, no mini-fridge though(was told that only 4star rooms have one) and no kettle as well. Tip: There's a large supermarket called "Jumbo" near the station. It isn't an Albert Heijn but it's good enough!
Lovely hotel. Very practical in terms of location... just steps from the main train station in Leiden. Service was excellent and the room was very comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is providing small bottles of shampoo and hair conditioner. The shower had an all purpose gel soap, but It is not something that works well for your hair. It leaves it kind of greasy and flat. Oddly, they provide two small bottles of skin lotions. I am not sure about other, but this is not something I would ever think to use. Overall it is a very nice place to stay.
It was perfect for my need. Was visiting Leiden for a brief stay. It is right across from the train station. Great location with shops/ restaurants within walking distance. Friendly staff, rooms are clean and comfortable. Had a very comfortable stay.
We stayed here at the end of April 2017. We hoped that there would be tea making facilities in the room and when we asked at reception if we could have a kettle we were brusquely told "no, that is not possible". Very disappointed because this is standard in even the most basic hotel in the UK. Also when we reported a bad smell coming from the bathroom (drains), reception said they would do something about it but nothing was done. We hade to block the drains with wet towels to keep the smell out. The bed mattress was too firm for us and when we asked if we could have a mattress topper or extra duvets we were told again" no." The room had tiny windows which gave very little light and no view. The lights in the room were too poor to read by. The only good thing was that it was a short walk to the station and town centre.
It is surprisingly spacious with huge bath tub, dining table and cooking area. Great location as it is located opposite the Leiden Centraal station. Walking distance to Albert Heijn hypermarket too. Great stay for 2 nights.
Recently stayed two nights for a work related course. Very convenient as close to the main train station and university. Outdated with no frills but very clean. Efficient staff. The hotel restaurant is relatively good when compared to the nearby tourist restaurants
I stayed here recently while attending a course for work. The room was basic, but extremely clean and tidy. The bed was really comfortable, had such a good sleep. The breakfast had plenty to choose from and again very tasty. The hotel is within spitting distance of Leiden Centre Train Station, excellent location. Just beware of the bikes, felt like they were coming from every direction!
