We found this great hotel through Tripadvisor. It came well recommended and as of today we can conform. Modern and clean rooms. Kind and professional staff. Aimed at international travellers. Free WiFi, secure inhouse parking and short walk into the city center.

Great location, across from train station, short walk to center of town. Some rooms have been remodeled but business suites are in need of a refurbishment. All the staff was great. Rooms facing the highway were noisy.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. It's in a very convenient location very close to the train station. We decided to stay here so we could visit other villages close by and be out of the busyness of Amsterdam. It was perfect for this. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and we had both a bath and shower which was great. We had breakfast at the hotel on the last day and it was really good. The other morning we had early morning plans and ate while we were out. The only issue we had was we were on the second floor and in the hallway area there was a horrible smell.

We stayed two nights in the hotel: the personnel is well informed/friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located directly at the train station but you do not hear the trains. From the hotel you walk in 5 minutes to the city center full of restaurants and bars. Parking is small and limited but not expensive compared to other parking options in the surrounding.

The service and staff was great, rooms amazing, location very useful while at Leiden. The service is what won me over the most, and everything else was just very professional. The restaurant is great too!

Excellent location. Only 2 minute walk to the train station making both Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam, and the airport easily accessible. Also you are in the centre of Leiden and so everything in Leiden is easily accessible by foot. The hotel was excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was clean. The rooms even have ironing board and iron, hair dryer, safe, and coffee/tee making facilities; of which most hotels do not provide. Will definitely stay there again.

This Hotel was just superb, great value for money, we stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and spotless with good storage facilities plus safe in room. Breakfasts were excellent, great variety and so fresh. The staff are a credit to this hotel, very friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. The restaurant and bar area in Golden Tulip is very comfortable and cosy, loved the decor, from beautiful shaped vases, to unusual candles and fresh flowers, finishing touches so nice. Would recommend this hotel without a doubt.

Stayed here for a conference. Driving the hotel can be a bit confusing esp the entrance is both sides. Parking Lot doesnt have too many spaces but for a fee one can park in the parking lot. The conference rooms are quite organised. Breakfast spread is good although it was difficult to catch attention for coffee. Lunch was good and had one or two vegetarian item ; but the kitchen and staff responded quickly for adding something vegetarian for the buffet.Food was good. Reception was ok and could be warmer. In walking distance to nice parts of town for a boat ride and dinner. ; it is just near the central station. Rooms are spacious and had all amenities though the fridge/mini bar was empty. Comfortable beds

This hotel is a good choice as a base for exploring Leiden, and is 5 minutes walk from the train station, so it took only 30 minutes to get here from Schipol. The rooms are fine - clean and modern, but not overly spacious and with limited storage. One of our rooms smelled of drains, and the reception staff were happy to provide us with an alternative. Only a c.10 minute walk into the centre of the city.

Spent 3 nights in Leiden as part of a visit to the Netherlands. Good location a couple of minutes walk from the station and close to a number of restaurants/bars. The room was average size, clean & comfortable, tea and coffee facilities provided but cleaning staff failed to refill one of the days. The storage space was a bit lacking, one wardrobe and a few shelves but only 5 hangers for 2 of us to share! No draw space and only one bedside table. The main negative is that the corridors smell very strongly of an overpowering air freshener, although, thankfully, this did not extend to the rooms. Parking was available to the rear of the hotel but rather expensive. We did not try the breakfast as at 16.50 Euro per person we felt this was pricey unless you like a large breakfast to start your day (Starbucks at the station did a coffee & croissant for a fraction of the cost!). Likewise we did not eat at the hotel restaurant as there were plenty of much cheaper options a few minutes walk away. The hotel was a good base to explore the local area, the train to Amsterdam took 35 minutes and ran frequently, Leiden itself is a pleasant town with museums, botanical garden etc and further afield Delft, Gouda and Rotterdam are all within easy reach. Overall a good place to stay if you want to avoid the big cities but still want to be able to visit for day trips.
