The Hague Marriott Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Hi, Had a 1 night stay at this property the weekend before Christmas. So the hotel was actually very quiet and not much activity going around. Location: The property is situated outside of the main center of The Hague, closer to the beach, Scheveningen. Next to it is the World Forum and the OPCW organization. There is a shopping street about 10 mins walk from the hotel (Frederik Hendriklaan). Even with luggage it should be quite doable with the tram, Line 16 from Central station. From the Johan de Witltaan stop, it's about a 5-10 mins walk on flat ground to the hotel. Check-in: I did an online check-in so everything was prepared before hand. Only thing that they did not ask was if I wanted as my Plat Arrival gift the points of the amenities. The check-in area is the new podium style check in which I find much better than the traditional long front desk as it's more personalized. Room: Was upgraded to a junior suite, which was a nice room with very modern (Scandinavisch/.Dutch style). The view was towards the main road but it was quiet. There was a coffee and tea making facilities provided with the normal amenities in such a room. The bathroom was nice with a nice walk-in shower area. Both water pressure and temperature was good. The only thing which maybe they forgot, is strangely there is no place to hang the towels after use, not a hook anywhere. (So I guess they can't ask guests to hang up their towels for the environmental purpose :)). Internet was good and stable - they did not seem to have a Premium version, but te normal one was already ok, so no complaints. Room temperature control was good and the TV selection was good. I would have expected a small welcome gift in the room (maybe I'm too used to the Asian Marriott's) but sadly there was none. Other than that, it was a comfortable room to lounge and sleep. Lounge: The evening offerings were ok with some hot dishes/snacks. Good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. Surprisingly the bar is open till 10pm, which is nice and appreciative. Breakfast spread was good too, but not as good as the one in the main breakfast room. (Sadly for Elite members, if breakfast is not included in the room, you will have to stick to what is in the lounge - for me this is a rather poor taste of hotel management - they should at least offer the option to Plats to have breakfast also in the main restaurant). Both evening and morning lounge attendants were really friendly and kept the place in order. Breakfast: Since I had breakfast included in my rate, I had this in the main restaurant. In general and ok spread, with 4-5 different hot dishes. As usual only western options available. Not sure if it was because of the low occupancy or the early hours, but staff here were less welcoming than the front desk, basically they just took your room number and no further interaction (e.g. asking for you beverage options, etc). General: An ok property. Elite recognition here is limited. Staff in general were ok, with some especially in the lounge more warm and friendly.
Last time we visited this hotel, some years ago, it was called Belair. Now it is the Marriott and it is still a very fine hotel, refurbished, restyled. Good rooms, good furniture, clean, good beds, good breakfast and a very friendly and welcoming staff. So our compliments to all of staff and to the management, indeed. Location of the hotel is fine, bus 24 and tram 16 at hand, fine museums nearby. So, do not hesitate if you have a chance to go,
I have stayed 3 days and liked the place, nothing special but employees are very nice the room is comfortable. The breakfast is very good. Gym could be better, just a few machines. Almost no shops in the area.
Last night - had a great night's sleep in a very comfortable room. Thanks to Bob Thomassen and the front desk team for a warm welcome - sorry I had to miss the 'oliebol' & gluhwein!! Special compliments to the Breakfast Team - for personal service and care! Roger Staats
Everything was absolutely perfect! Rooms, the view of the city from the room, service, breakfast - just perfect! There's plenty of choice at the breakfast and you can even make your own waffles at the breakfast. The service was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel
On the 2nd of December we stayed one night at the Marriott in The Hague. Nice hotel, close to museums. In between city and the sea. Great service. Great hotel room. Breakfast was ok. You could order egg specials, all included. Overall I have seen better breakfast at Marriott hotels. We had a deal booked, including drink and “bitterballen”, a Dutch snack. Nice bar, nice service. Overall great deal, great hotel. Thumbs up.
We are locals, but like to stay at the The Hague Marriott to recover from a busy week. We are very familiar with the Marriott standard worldwide and this hotel easily meets the standard for Marriott in Europe and tops the ones in USA. The rooms are quite small but well furnished with a signature style that's different from the standard Marriotts (in a good way!) Staff is friendly and helpfull. Especially Jaap and Mimoun from the Executive Lounge. Jaap usually runs the place in the evening and Mimoun at breakfast. It's always a pleasure to have a talk with them and they go out of their way to make sure you're short of nothing. They make us feel at home, thanks guys!
We stayed here (my wife and I) on saturday evening and the stay was great. Nicely renovated hotel, and immidiately at check in helped by a very professional young man (Michael) who gave tips on where to go, and information about the hotel. A very good check-in. We stayed in the junior suite, nice and alot of room. Big TV, nice bed, a beautiful view from the 6th floor. We parked the car at the hotel, very convenient. We enjoyed some apperative in the executive lounge before going out for dinner. Breakfast was also good, but also the only point of feedback for our lovely stay and that is because, although it was very very busy, there was a lack of co-ordination with the service. If the table service was well organized as in when you get to the desk to tell the hosting lady that you are there for breakfast, and she leads you to the table, asks for coffee and tea, I think everything else would also be well arranged. We arrived at 10 am, with plates finished, bread/pastries lagging behind with being refilled, a row of people at the coffee machine etc. So this is not a complaint but a bit of feedback on how we think it could be done better. As we both work in the hospitality industry. Again, great stay, very very friendly staff and overall good look and feel of the location - and we liked all the little touches, as in the jogging route card, tips on where to eat (from locals)
I stayed here for four nights in October when I attended a work-related conference. It was a very pleasant stay. I would like to commend the staff. They were extremely helpful at all times, from check in up to check out. On my last night, they provided me with a lot of suggestions and guidance when I wanted to explore the Hague city center, as well as help on how to get to Rotterdam and back. I am extremely grateful for them. Highly organized, I was expecting a package from our partners, and when I entered my room, it was already on my desk. Our stay came with a breakfast. Their options were very satisfying. I enjoyed EVERYTHING!!!
The room i was in was updated and well kept. The staff really are the stars. The bellman, front desk and executive lounge staff all are very pleasant, attentive, and ready to assist. Evenings in the executive lounge the attendant Jaap is always there to greet you with a smile. Overall great stay. Definitely recommend. This is my third stay and always consistent.
