Just a few steps from The Hague Central Station you’ll find the good Hampshire hotel Babylon. As staff supplied us with an upgrade, we do not know how the non-upgraded rooms are, but we guess OK. Good beds, clean, good breakfast and a very pleasant 24/7 staff. Free Wifi in all rooms. Free coffee and tea at the reception hall. Trams, trains and buses at hand. In brief: we had a pleasant two day’s stay.
We visited Hampshire - Babylon Den Haag from 2-4 February 2018. It is ideally located near the central train station with the (wheelchair friendly) entrance of the hotel at about 75 mtrs. It is connected to a shopping mall. There is a parking nearby. Check-in/check out went very smoothly and staff is extremely kind and helpful. At our departure they even offered us a small bottle of water. We were pleasantly surprised that even the well-stocked minibar in our room can be used for free. We asked for a quiet room and we got one on the 7th. floor (710). It is a large room with soundproofed windows, a large double bed with two side tables and an excellent mattress. There are 2 pillows per person and you can even choose from another 4 pillows. The large LCD-TV is in front of the bed and has a lot of good working channels. There are also a desk and 2 easy chairs in the room. There is a minibar which you can use for free. In the little hall entering your room, you’ll find plenty of closet space in a large linen cupboard, including a safe. Wifi signal is very strong and excellent. The bathroom is rather large with a wash stand, a toilet, a hair dryer and a good working shower. Although the room is on the 7th. floor, water pressure is excellent. There are 2 towels per person, but there is only liquid soap, but one can ask for some pieces of soap. The only really negative point is the noise of the air refreshing system in the toilet room. Even with earplugs you can hear the noise at night. So we did not sleep well the first night and took a sleeping pill the next one. We indicated this at the recption and the friendly woman told us that she could not close it but reduce it. The latter did not have a noticeable reduction. The hot/cold breakfast buffet is really excellent in all aspects: in choice, in quality, in abundance, in the way it is served, etc. The price of the breakfast was included in our arrangement, otherwise you have to pay 18,50 euro p.p. We once had dinner in hotel’s restaurant. The choice is very restricted but of rather good quality. All-in all, this is a very good hotel if the noise of the air freshening system does not bother you.
Great location next to Central Station, despite this, room was quiet. The room was large with adequate facilities - highlight was nespresso machine (but bring your own milk!) and the free mini bar. The rooms are a bit old fashion style - lots of brown - but I would still stay here again due to location. Staff at reception weren't particularly friendly but they were very efficient.
Arrived in Den Haag for a birthday party so this hotel was the best location for the purpose. Next to the central train station and in town next to everything. Did not get much time to explore the city or the hotel as I was here for 1 night only. However the hotel is elegant in decor, clean and neat and that’s all I asked for an hotel. Although being in the heart of the city it is a very quite place to sleep in, in the morning I have not heard a noise. I recommend this hotel for the quality and value for the price. Will be back there next time in Den Haag.
Great hotel, great location, very welcoming staff at reception. Good price quality. Good for a short business trip, 1 minute from train station 30 minutes to schiphol airport. If you have spare time than rent a bike at the hotel reception, 15 minutes ride to the beach
I've stayed at this hotel several times because of the good location (very close to the Central Station and 10 min. walking to the City Center). In the last few years, the hotel got older and deteriorating rapidly. Torn curtains, falling shower pieces, bulky headlamps and out of date decoration, shampoo & bath gel in one package, cold rooms on arrival, mislocated minibar (sometimes no minibar) and a basic breakfast. The only good thing is the Nespresso machine. They need a complete renovation ASAP. The staff is friendly and helpful.
My second time at this hotel confirmed my previous experience. Great location beside the central railway station, it provides comfortable rooms and great service. I really appreciated the Nespresso coffee facilities in the room. The rooms are spacious and comfortable though I do have to complain about the comfort of the pillows (but that is and individual case). The breakfast was of good quality and variety. I definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel has a very good location if you’re coming into town by train. Via the back exit of the train station it’s only a few minutes walk. Also the walk from the hotel into the city center is nice and short. The welcome committee was very friendly and they quickly helped us with our needs (e.g. iron). The room was not so big but was pleasant and clean, as well as the bathroom. The bed was big and good, and we had a good night. Also free nespresso in the room! We didn’t have dinner or breakfast in the restaurant, but we went for a (late night) drink and they had lot of drinks to offer and although it was already late and we were the only customers, the staff was still very friendly.
Because of the excellent hospitality, room comfort & cleanliness offered, we have been visiting this hotel for some years now. Situated right next to the Central train station over looking the Park & within 5 minutes walking distance to The Hague's shopping centre with large selection of Cafés and Restaurants this hotels offers us is an ideal location to stay coupled with its warm attentive and friendly staff. We feel very much at home. The breakfast buffets is exceptionally good with many choices to suit everyone's taste and despite the fact at times its quite busy with guests, the staff make's sure that there was never a shortage of the services offered. I would like to extend my thanks to all the staff for offering us an enjoyable stay. You won't regret, Just be there:)
This hotel is located at the back of the central station in The Hague, so was very handy for my train travels in the morning. I stayed 1 night for business and the hotel did the job it was required to do, and there was a very decent breakfast. The bedroom was nice, with a balcony that overlooked the park (which would have been good to see if the weather wasn't so bad when I visited).
