Holiday Inn Express The Hague - Parliament3.0 out of 5.0

We have stayed with the IHG chain all over the world, from a Holiday Inn Express to an Intercontinental and ALL the staff impressed us at this hotel whilst there for 3 nights. Yes, we had an issue that needed to be dealt with, but the solution and speed that this was undertaken was worthy of an Intercontinental (even better)!!! The location cannot be bettered, right in the heart of The Hague, I can understand that there is potential for it to be a little noisy (I recently stayed at a hotel at the F1 track in Abu Dhabi (5+ star) and if you wanted to sleep during the day (for whatever reason) they had F3 cars racing around past the hotel most of the day – so …………………. A very good continental breakfast, nothing special but perfectly OK for a quick getaway! We had a lovely room on the 4th floor facing the garden, some noise until 23:30ish (from a nearby restaurant, but good double glazing and air con so you are able to be flexible with how you wanted to approach blocking it out. All in all, definitely a good place to stay in the very centre of The Hague.
Pros: Great location, right in the center and close to bars and restaurants Clean and spacious room Good shower Good pillows Good wifi signal in the room Cons: Narrow double bed Small size towel Crowded breakfast with long queues.
Well maintained and fuctional hotel for overnight stay. The room facilities are bare bones so might not be suitable for longer stays ( No closet, no fridge/mini bar). The location of the hotel is excellent with access to most tourist area by foot
The Holiday Inn Express was situated near to The Mauritshuis museum which was the reason for our visit to The Hague. Our rooms were very clean and quiet except for the dust! behind the bed at just above pillow height there is a rail and it was so dusty as was the phone next to the bed, everything else seemed to have been dusted, in our daughter's room it was the same! Very strange. The staff were friendly and had good knowledge of The Hague, breakfast was continental and had a good variety. Good range of places to eat very close to the hotel too.
The hotel is located in a very good location, walking distance to sights. Wifi worked well and bed was very comfy (even for me with my bad back). The breakfast was a bit better than most of the continental breakfasts that we had on our three week trip to Europe. During our stay, the elevator was out of commission which created significant delays in the morning. We stayed on a Friday night, and the hotel provided earplugs (apparently because of the noise coming from the nearby public square) - there was some noise, but it didn't affect us.
This Hotel is perfectly placed for business or pleasure in the Hague. It is right beside parliament buildings, restaurants, bars, 10 mins from central station, 10 mins from office district and also central shopping area. The staff are friendly and rooms clean. If your looking for practical hospitality at a reasonable cost , in a good location, this is the place to stay.
This is a great no-frills hotel, situated less than 10 minutes walk from the central railway station. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and we were pleased to find a clean and comfortable room overlooking the rear garden ( very peaceful!). Breakfast is fairly basic but fine, and the hotel is within moments of plenty of restaurants and cafes. It is also perfectly situated to walk to the main tourist highlights - the Parliament buildings, the Mauritshuis and many others.
The hotel is located closer to City Centre and surrounded by good number of restaurants, shops and park. The rooms are good but does not have a great view. As it is an express hotel, has limited options, but staff is helpful & supports in providing the required information. Provides Breakfast but does not provide lunch or dinner, however, restaurants are available next door. Good for short stays.
This is a tough hotel to accurately review. My usual test of "is it clean and does everything work as it should" doesn't quite work here because while it was quite clean not everything worked as it should. There were some maintenance issues (that were ultimately addressed). This hotel does a lot of things quite well. Similarly the things it does poorly it does quite poorly and does not care what you think. The location is quite good and reasonably safe. The front line staff is great but the management is condescending, arrogant and unresponse (looking at the nonresponsive "responses" to constructive criticism in reviews shows that they have no desire to change and won't. There is much to say that is positive and I would not hesitate to stay here again although I passed on coming back because the room rates shot up considerably -- higher than for higher rated hotels. The rooms are small, furnished spartanly but quite clean. Good shower and wifi. Room lighting above average. The management when confronted with concerns about service or amenities uses excuses like being a "three star hotel" but it charges more than some of the competition including four star hotels. Guests deserve to have their concerns addressed competently and professionally, not blown off.
Clean and efficient. We stayed one night and the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great -self service continental style with a reasonable choice. It was a little noisy outside -almost like the windows weren't shut properly, we did double check, wouldn't have liked to be there on a Friday/Saturday night. We rather stupidly didn't ask about hotel car parking and used the public car parking garage on the square so paid a small fortune but don't blame the hotel for our mistake! Hotel is right by the parliament buildings so great for seeing the city and has a number of restaurants in walking distance.
