Our room had no towels in it. I called several times on the hotel phone and was either hung up on or they stayed on the line but wouldn't speak. I finally called from my cell phone. I had to argue quite a bit to be told when they would bring towels. He finally said 15-20 minutes. They brought towels at 10:15, and again I had to argue for four for a family of four. Needless to say, we were very late to our destination.

I thought I would give this a chance even though there were some marginal reviews. Check-in was easy. Room location was good. Decor nice and room well appointed for a Motel 6. The good: nice JVC TV and good cable; awesome AC- cold and quiet. Bathroom acceptable. Floor needs mopped. Door needs re-hung. The terrible: the vagrant/homeless hanging around. There were 4 people sitting on the far corner of the property with their bags. There was a truck with a trailer/BBQ grill in the parking area. I went to dinner, came back and the grill was going strong and people still loitering... in the parking lot and at the far corner. I go ask the front desk about the loitering and was told she knew nothing of it. Oh well, there was 1 person still there at 6 the next morning - asleep on the ground. Maybe he/she was thrown out of a room by a guest because there was fighting and door slamming and yelling in multiple rooms that Friday night. No sleep at all for me that Friday night and obviously management does not care. Maybe this place rents by the week to migrant workers. The party(ies) started about dark and was going when I got out of the room at 6 the next morning. Stay here if you must or like to party all night yourself. Otherwise, go across the interstate and pay $12 more for something nicer.

The room was updated and as the photos, It was very spacious. The bed was comfortable. The wireless was fast. The pool was closed that was a drag. But overall would go back. The issue is that the AR side of Texarkana is a bit run down and gives you a bad impression. Everything is on the Texas side. The hotel though is well worth it, Don't be deceived by the review that are otherwise. If you are hard to please and expect some 4 star hotel then yea you will be disappointed. If you know what Motel 6 brings/offers then you will be fine.
