At first glance the hotel is above average. I was greeted with a smile, and the front desk staff was very helpful. The room was okay, although it was laid out rather strangely. The living room furniture was very uncomfortable; I hardly spent any time sitting on it. My chief problem was with housekeeping, however. I informed the front desk that I would be working a night shift, and we attempted to work out a suitable time for my room to get cleaned. Twice I waited up for housekeeping and they never showed. It took over a week and a half to get things straight with housekeeping. To add to that, the housekeeping was a bit shoddy. There was a thick layer of dust on some of my furniture. The breakfast was pretty good, and the kitchen staff was always polite and helpful. I am a gold Marriott Rewards member, and I travel frequently for business. I have to say that this is one of the more disappointing Residence Inns I have stayed in.
I stayed 3 nights. When I first arrived I was greeted with a smile and the check in process was fast and friendly. The clerk was very nice and asked me about my day. Every night after work the same clerk that checked me in acknowledged me, which made me feel at home. Other staff i came in contact with was also very nice making my stay personally great. The room was always clean. Recommend it to anyone!
Do you like a hotel with convenient parking? I do. This hotel has very convenient parking. Do you like a hotel that has nice and generous lighting in the room? I do; Lighting was great in the room, very conducive to working; really nice. Do you a hotel with nice furniture and fixtures? I do. Five stars, furniture and fixture in the room was awesome. Do you like a hotel in a safe area? I do. This hotel seems like it is in a safe area. Do you like a hotel with a nice lobby? I do. Nice hotel lobby here. Do you like a hotel with a nice breakfast included? I do, however the breakfast was not to my liking, the fruit was canned fruit and there were no potatoes which I like with eggs. I thought the breakfast was not good enough. Do you like hotel with nice work place in the room, for your computer that can plug into nice lamps on the desk? I do, and this hotel is great for good atmosphere for work. Do you like a hotel room with a nice window treatments? I do. This hotel has nice window treatments. Do you like a hotel with the sink outside the shower room, so you don't fog up the mirror when you take a shower? I do, and this hotel has that. Do you like a hotel that you can earn or use Marriott points? I do, and that works here also. There were people smoking in the sidewalk leading into the hotel, and butts on the ground also; the hotel cannot help it if they clientele does this, however it is part of the experience, so sorry....needs to be said. Maybe it should be a no smoking campus. That would be difficult to enforce. Not an easy problem, though it was part of my experience to have to go through that on entering and exiting. Because of the breakfast being not so great, I think will go with four stars; I think that is fair, i.e. I am really only deducting one star because of the breakfast. I would definitely be willing to stay here again.
Stayed for a weekend. The place is well kept and clearly, the staff takes pride in the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel. There is a kitchenette with all the basic amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful.
As Hurricane Irma approached I needed to get my Mom somewhere in-land and safe. The folks at Residence Inn Tampa / Sabal Park were wonderful to her. From Colleen in the sales dept. when I set up the reservation to Cynthia at the evening desk! They were all great even when the Hurricane knocked out the power for a bit... (The maintenance crew gave them flashlights and the cleaning crew carried their luggage!) I am sure they were also concerned about their own families as the storm approached Tampa, but they still remained focused on their guests keeping them happy and safe! If another hurricane displaces my Mom, (I hope not!) this will be the first place that I call!
This is our second time staying at this hotel and all I can say is I can't say anything negative about the hotel or the staff. Very clean, great location, and management was awsome. I was not aware when I book that they were pet friendly (My Fault) and I am highly allergic to dogs and cats. The management (Robert Newton & Autumn Wegman) was very gracious to call in a cleaning service and make sure the room was cleaned. Took down all the curtins, steamed the carpet and even cleaned the couch. How many managers would do that. We left while they were cleaning the room and when we got back the room was like it was the first time anyone stayed there. We went back a second time and they prepared the same room for us. I can't enough about the way were treated. Thank you Mr. Newton and Ms. Wegman for your kindness. (JUST MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THAT THE HOTEL IS PET FRIENDLY) Robert & Barbara Sapp
We had a wedding in Dover and needed to find a hotel nearby. Most of the wedding party was staying at a Hampton Inn close to our hotel but we are Marriott people and wanted to pay with points. This is still an older Residence Inn. The property is not very updated. The rooms however were more updated so really I guess that is what I care more about than the lobby. They had breakfast at the hotel per usual which was alright. Overall it was just close to where we needed to be and had nice rooms. I wouldn't choose this location again because it is in the middle of nowhere but our wedding was in the middle of nowhere so it worked out. Uber also comes to the hotel which was necessary for us!
We stayed here to meet up with family and what a great choice! This hotel was amazingly clean and very quiet in the evenings. The furnishings were contemporary and up to date. Staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was delicious! This was a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles and much more. Every staff member we encountered was very helpful and friendly. All in all the hotel felt hospitable, with all the comforts of home and then some. There was a nice pool area with a grill or fire pit (didn't look too closely). Kids were having a blast out there. Nice to see. I had a wonderful visit with my family. I highly recommend! *TIP* To get there just follow your GPS even if it seems odd getting there. You will get right to it. Also Brandon Town Square is right nearby and has EVERYTHING. For a kitschy dinner try the Taco Bus. If you love Mexican food you won't regret it. You can even order online.
This was one of the few places we could find that had a 2 room suite. Good location that was easy access to I75. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. The price was higher that I expected but we were satisfied overall.
We stayed at this hotel as part of our trip to see Jimmy Buffett in concert. The hotel was very nice and close to the even. The service was great. The free margarita party before the concert was a really nice touch. We'll definitely stay hear again.
