This hotel is located in the absolute best location in Tampa. The hotel restaurant is great but there are so many fantastic unique restaurants within walking distance. Bern's is across the street. Haven, one of our all time favorites is next door. The hotel is beautiful inside with awesome amenities.

This is a fantastic hotel. The Epicurean is what the Autograph Collection by Marriott is about. The staff was fantastic.....especially Omar, the valet. This property is also within short walking distance of many shops, restaurants and entertainment in South Tampa. It's also only about a 5-10 drive to downtown. This is by far my favorite hotel in South Tampa.

We stayed a couple nights and were very comfortable. We opted for a regular double queen and the beds were very good. Room was quiet - blinds good for keeping out the sun. Check in was simple and quick. The restaurant is exceptionally good. Everything was great. My only wish list items: - I wish there was a usable chair or couch in the room. A key complaint of my is a hotel room where the only comfortable spot requires lying down on the bed. The tiny pillow-covered U-shaped thing with no back is unusable and uncomfortable for anything other than a pillow-holder decoration. - I wish for an ice bucket with a lid to keep ice longer - I wish you had usb plugs or usb outlets available for charging things with usb cords. - hair dryer with a cord long enough to be used without bending over upside down. - I wish there were more complimentary coffee in the rooms. I'm sure I could call down and track some down but this is a pain when it is early. Room pricing sees to fluctuate between reasonable and unreasonable for this property depending on what is going on in town. Maybe a fluke when I looked but sometimes under 2 bills and sometimes over 4 bills depending.

We stayed in a junior suite for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious with a separate sitting area perfect for curling up with a good book. Loved the contemporary comforts with vintage decor, including a rotory phone. There's a wonderful wine shop on site and a teaching kitchen. We had a beautiful dinner and lovely breakfast at the restaurant. Don't miss the rooftop bar with their handcrafted cocktails. There were tons of options for dinner and brunch within walking distance. Overall a lovely stay.

We stayed at the Epicurean Hotel from the 3rd of July until the 6th. We checked into one of their suites. The room was very spacious and had everything you could need in it. Spacious sitting area, great bed, awesome bathroom, tub and shower area. One thing that we didn’t like was that there was no door to close between the toilet and the whole bathroom area so you could not make use of the room for getting ready if someone was in there. Kind of a waste of wonderful space. The cleaning staff that we had did not speak english so trying to get anything or make your requests known to them was non existent. Yes I know you can call the front desk and they can help you but kind of silly when they are standing right in front of you. The rooms were cleaned nicely with the exception of the cups which they just rinsed out and still had the coffee rings around them. Kind of grosses you out. Even when I asked for 2 coffee cups they brought ones that were dirty. Thankfully I brought my own dish soap so I didn’t have to call down again but never the less in a hotel that is touted to be one of Marriotts autograph collection one would expect more. Another gripe is that while they have a decent pool and keep it heated, there is no pool service. They have small menu and a phone to call. You can also order off the restaurant menu. They will bring food and drink to the pool but it comes bagged up from room service so you get your food all bagged up and soggy and your drink later and there is also the room service charge attached. We ordered the pressed steak sandwich which was not very good. Hardly any meat or cheese in it and pressed to burning. The rum and coke came wrapped in saran so hardly the pool resort experience you are used to. The sandwich and drink with charges came to 38.00 before tip which you can expect at a hotel but not for the garbage we received and the horrible presentation. Needless to say we did not try the restaurant in the hotel for food during our visit. Bottom line, the hotel was decent but nothing to write home about, If I wanted to go to Berns again and not drive home I would stay here out of convenience but not for the experience.

This hotel was a nice change of pace from where I usually stay for business. I have traveled heavily for business for 20 years, but that is the first time the person who checked me in got out a tablet, and walked me up to my room. The check in process actually took place in my hotel room. I liked the uniqueness of the hotel, and I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the beginning of July 2017. The lobby was interesting & the staff very nice. The staff say hello when you come down from your room. The valet parking was kind of a pain. We were busy & had to wait on our car every time we needed to leave. We ordered room service it was pricey but very good. The menu was on your tv but ours did not work. So they brought up a menu. The rooms were clean & spacious. Overall I would stay again. Walking distance to Starbucks & a Thai, breakfast & a few other restaurants.

Last minute hunt for an overnight stay and found this GEM. Pretty new and directly across the street from the famous Bern's Steak House. And just within walking distance of Haven and Delightful Eats, both worth visiting. Very modern throughout and a great bar scene and if the first floor bar/dining scene does not please you, jump up to the rooftop bar - what a hoot that was.This hotel even has it own wine store inside with great selection to choose from; a dessert facility and spa. Great wine list and happy hour was strong. Even ended up and happy to do so for dinner. I wouldnot stay anywhere else when Tampa comes up again in my travels.

This is a hard review to write. My real star rating would be a 3.5. I have lived in Tampa for 26 years. I am a Berns devotee. So since this hotel is owned by Berns restaurant, I have to look at this hotel as I think Bern Laxer would have. First the good. The Epicurean is about one thing - the celebration of food and drink. They are owned by a world renowned restaurant. From this hotel, you are basically within stumbling distance of Berns and Haven, and within the hotel is Elevage, Chad Johnson's restaurant, the Edge bar, and Chocolate Pi. They have a great spa as well. So the bottom line, the draw of this "autograph" hotel is food and drink. They even post signs at all the guest levels that indicate "Food Coma in Progress" as a nice way of saying keep it down. The rooms are really well done, and probably the nicest touch is the copy of the story of Berns in each room, "Rare and Well Done". If you're reading this review, and don't know anything about Berns, that's OK. Just know that there is no place in America like it, and Bern Laxer built something totally unique and amazing right here in Cigar City. There are lots of cool luxury touches in the rooms. Other than being a bit on the small side, you won't be disappointed with them. Even the mini-bar has some pretty good deals in it. The pool is no huge draw. Keep in mind this is an urban hotel with an expressway right behind it, so you will hear the traffic at the pool or anywhere from the west side of the hotel if you are outside. There is no bar at the pool; service is from a single phone that you order "pool service" from and, like room service, they add the 18% service fee to that order. So here is the negative part of the review. It seemed small at first, but it continued to bug me as I started to note is seemed pervasive throughout the hotel. On the terrace level, there were several areas (not by the rooms for the benefit of management) in the public spaces that had glasses, bottles and cans sitting around. We knew some of these had been there at least overnight, because some of the cups were full of rainwater from Friday night's rain, and it didn't rain on Saturday. We know this because we live within a mile of the hotel, and were there on a "stay cation" because of some great Florida resident rates. Then, on the terrace level to the steps down to the pool something dark brown had been leaked/splattered all over the ground. It went down the steps all the way to the pool gate. At the pool, there were old plasticware forks and spoons under our chairs when we got there, limes and lemon garnish from previous patron's drinks, and beer cans in the landscaping area. When I walked down the south hallway by the conference rooms, there was a half empty water bottle on a table. Petty, I know. But if you know the legacy of Bern Laxer, you have to ask yourself, if Bern walked around this hotel and saw this stuff, would he be happy? For me, the answer is no. And since this place is billed as a Marriott "Autograph" hotel, this is just lack of attention to detail that I basically found inexcusable. I know this is really critical on a small part of the hotel. But I'm a Tampan, and I want this hotel to really shine. I love Berns possibly more than any restaurant in the world. I don't want the hotel that is associated with Berns to do anything to impact that reputation negatively. And for me, the lack of attention to detail is going to do just that. Don't hesitate to stay here. I'm really writing the negative part of this review for hotel management's benefit. It's a cool place in a cool area of town, with access to some of the best restaurants in Tampa. The rooms are first class, the front desk is first class, the bartenders at the Elevage bar are first class. But management needs to have staff continuously checking the hotel for the small details that make the difference between a good hotel and a truly great hotel.

We stayed for the second time in the past month. The hotel is classy and nice. Great location across from Berns. The pool area was nice, could use some drink service but the standout was the onsite breakfast which was a huge surprise. This may have been the best breakfast I've ever enjoyed. Every detail down to the fruit was outstanding. Come for the hotel food or both. You won't be disappointed.
