Average hotel. Four stars is a bit overrated. Rooms are outdated with old fasioned shower curtain, old carpet on the floor and cigarette burn marks on the sink. Beds are OK with clean sheets, although a bit small for Western European size man. No noise issues. Biggest issue was the (hot) water. One of the 2 mornings I did not have hot water for over 15 mins. One evening I also did not have any hot water (again for over 15 mins.) to take a shower. Sometimes the pressure was gone. Wifi is free, but not a great connection. Staff is professional, English speaking and friendly. Restaurant serves a very nice dinner. Breakfast is good, plenty of choice.

Me and a colleague shared a business room on one of the top floors. We had specifically booked a business room, as we knew we needed a desk and some space since we were there for work reasons. To our disappointment the room seemed like a normal standard room, except for a tiny desk that was cramped on the side. What's more, the tap didn't function properly - water flow was minimal and water temperature either boiling hot or slightly cooler, but never really cold. Thank god the shower worked properly! Basically, we didn't really get what we had hoped, there was no extra room (that we noticed). There was a small fridge-like thing that wasn't really too cold either. A coffee machine doesn't make a room business class... If I need to go to Tallinn for work, I will choose some other hotel. For normal holiday purposes the hotel is ok. The breakfast was good. That's a plus.

Average hotel with great central location. Clean hotel, smallish rooms. Everything is just like you would expect in a typical average hotel. If you are looking for a hotel where you can shower, sleep and have breakfast without any extra hassle this is the place to go. Good breakfast with all the normal stuff (bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, bread, cereal etc.). We had a room in 7th floor facing the street, no noise problems whatsoever.

Stayed in Tallink City Hotel first time, just because I got a nice deal in booking.com (I stay in the hotels in Tallinn every summer and every winter). My stay was just over night, arrived in the hotel after midnight and checked out next morning. As I am allergic for many things/sprays/smells/fabrics, I always request perfume free room and pillow for allergic people. While booking my room, I added special requests like: *allergy room *higher floor room and main thing *double bed (suppose to travel with my husband). One day before my check-in I called to a hotel and repeated my special wishes again, everything was confirmed. I also told to the hotel that my husband is no longer traveling and I stay over night with my two boys and asked them to make sure I have double bed. I got confirmation that everything is going to be as I wish. Unfortunately my one kid got sick the day of traveling and I arrived to a hotel with one kid only. Checked in with Trainee receptionist who was kind and quick. Went upstairs...my key did not work. Went down to change it and got in my room. It was room with two single beds not a double one that I requested and confirmed 2 times. I was thinking..what if I was there with my 2 kids!? 00:30 in the night. I did not feel good about it, disappointed. Went down again to talk with a kind receptionist who said that she can see my request and is very sorry about the wrong beds. Anyway, I stayed in this room. Just wanted to take a shower and go to sleep as I was also sick. Went to a bathroom and realized that the floor corners were all dirty, two corners had food crumbs and near shower some body hair, that made me feel even more sick. In the morning when I went to take shower I could not figure out how to find the right temperature as it was changing from cool to a burning hot very suddenly, continuously. Burned my back I just wanted to get out from this hotel. Only thing left was to have a quick breakfast and leave. Breakfast restaurant was extremely crowded and some people had to dine in a lobby area. I already felt unwelcome again but....as I took my food and found a table I realized how fast restaurant staff was working and had a kind and professional attitude. I understood that all staff was actually nice in the hotel and all the faults are not theirs. Overall: staff was very nice but the hotel elevators, corridor carpets and bathroom was dirty and room needs some updates. I hope they would be more careful with their guests special requests, specially when they confirm two times.

We were a group of 22 persons staying at this hotel in mid December. Our check-in was smooth until I got to my hotel room’s door, the key card did not work. It happens, but it was still annoying that it happened immediately after check-in. I then went back to the reception to get the problem fixed. The staff in a hotel’s reception is key, they give the guest the first impression of the hotel. My impression of this hotel’s reception was unfortunately very beige. The lady in the reception might have said hello, but nothing else when she handed the card to me. Was she blonde or brunette, can’t tell. An apology for the inconvenience would have been polite. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the interior felt very outdated and a big minus for the carpet floor. The breakfast selection was very standard, decent without surprises. The location was superb, close to everything. Nice and warm atmosphere in the piano bar in the lobby area.

Hotel at great location, next to Viru shopping center and Old Town. Clean rooms, good beds, and customer service was nice. Noises from the street can be heards in the room even on the higher floors, but didn't bother us too much. The breakfast buffet had great selection of foods. Only minus was bad layout, which caused people to cue for no reason. Juice dispensers were awfully slow, thus people had to wait their drinks for a long long time. Coffee was good and sweet pastries with it tasted delicious.

Clean hotel, upper floor room was quiet , cleaning works very well, warm room at least this winter time. Breakfast ok, but you have to go early, otherwise it was fully booked and you have to wait the food on line. Sauna department was old and located to the basement, not possible to lock your cloth closed. Sauna was anyhow warm. The old city of Tallinn is always nice.

There is a good variety for the continental breakfast, not enough for the sweets. The breakfast room is too small than the quantity of guests. If the breakfast could be able for a 4 stars hotel, the room is not compliant: the bathroom is old and sometimes dirty during the journay; the bed are not comfortable and the temperature is not easily to regulate.

+ no problems with the temperature in the room + very helpful staff at the reception + fast check in and check out + great location + good wi-fi. However some problems during evenings happened. +/- decent breakfast - very small rooms - old fashioned amenities, the renewing is very needed I can recommend this hotel but rather for one person in the standard room.

Our room was really old, dirty, ugly and tiny. There was absolutely nothing in the room, so I cannot believe that Tallink City hotel would have 4 stars: there was no kettle, no toothbrush, shampoos etc. Interior is from the 90's if not even older. The room was really falling apart since it was so old and there was dirt, cigarette burning marks and holes in the walls and furniture. Also someone's hair in my bed when I opened it. The room was noisy even though we asked for quiet room in the reservation. Reception staff seemed unprofessional and didn't know answers to our simple questions regarding the Tallink Club card use in the hotel. The breakfast was absolutely horrible, really industrial food and not fresh. Didn't taste like anything. One of the worst hotels where I have ever been and definitely not a 4-star hotel.
