Tallink City Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

It was near a mall and not even 5 minutes from the old town..Near to big brand shops and very clean..The shower was not separated from the bathroom and the curtain moved due to a sort of wind current.... Basic hotel but clean and great location
Tallink Hotel (run by the cruiser/ship chain) is one of the large hotel chains in Tallinn. The Tallink City (rebranding) is a very large hotel welcoming quite a few conferences - the restaurant always seems busy in the mornings, as well as the adjacent bar/club. The rooms are fine albeit a little claustrophobic and with poor ventilation (one of my clients had issues with the air quality and had to change hotel). I've stayed there a couple times and it's a very normal average hotel, clean and with a popular bar area, modern and carpeted, with slightly smaller bathrooms than usual. The breakfast has a fairly good choice, though they replaced the juice last year with horrible machines which squirt out a diluted mix like a coca cola fountain.
Staff in reception was good . Natalja and the other girl in piano bar was very friendly ! Room was cozy and pleasant . Breakfast was delicious , but restaraunt staff a bit shy. We enjoyed chocolate fondant :)
Stayed here one night as part of a cruise with Tallink & Silja Lines. The room was clean but the extra bed could have been a bit better. Breakfast was great as was the overall impression of the hotel. We were able to store our luggage at the hotel after check-out, free of charge, until we were set to leave Tallinn. Hotel was close to a mall and a short walk away from exploring more of Tallinn.
The hotel itself is nicely stylised and the rooms are quite acceptable. They are clean but a little bit dated and worn, but still really nice. Breakfast was good and there were a nice variety of different foods to choose from. One thing that could be better is the quality of the toilet paper. It felt like i was wiping myself with sand paper, but this was just a minor bad thing. All in all a good hotel to stay a few nights.
This hotel doesn’t pretend to something special. Small rooms with anything you need (toothbrush take with you or ask it on reception) The only one minus: I was there in January and it was very cold inside the room. I used two blankets and asked for a heater on reception
Average hotel. Four stars is a bit overrated. Rooms are outdated with old fasioned shower curtain, old carpet on the floor and cigarette burn marks on the sink. Beds are OK with clean sheets, although a bit small for Western European size man. No noise issues. Biggest issue was the (hot) water. One of the 2 mornings I did not have hot water for over 15 mins. One evening I also did not have any hot water (again for over 15 mins.) to take a shower. Sometimes the pressure was gone. Wifi is free, but not a great connection. Staff is professional, English speaking and friendly. Restaurant serves a very nice dinner. Breakfast is good, plenty of choice.
Me and a colleague shared a business room on one of the top floors. We had specifically booked a business room, as we knew we needed a desk and some space since we were there for work reasons. To our disappointment the room seemed like a normal standard room, except for a tiny desk that was cramped on the side. What's more, the tap didn't function properly - water flow was minimal and water temperature either boiling hot or slightly cooler, but never really cold. Thank god the shower worked properly! Basically, we didn't really get what we had hoped, there was no extra room (that we noticed). There was a small fridge-like thing that wasn't really too cold either. A coffee machine doesn't make a room business class... If I need to go to Tallinn for work, I will choose some other hotel. For normal holiday purposes the hotel is ok. The breakfast was good. That's a plus.
Average hotel with great central location. Clean hotel, smallish rooms. Everything is just like you would expect in a typical average hotel. If you are looking for a hotel where you can shower, sleep and have breakfast without any extra hassle this is the place to go. Good breakfast with all the normal stuff (bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, bread, cereal etc.). We had a room in 7th floor facing the street, no noise problems whatsoever.
Stayed in Tallink City Hotel first time, just because I got a nice deal in booking.com (I stay in the hotels in Tallinn every summer and every winter). My stay was just over night, arrived in the hotel after midnight and checked out next morning. As I am allergic for many things/sprays/smells/fabrics, I always request perfume free room and pillow for allergic people. While booking my room, I added special requests like: *allergy room *higher floor room and main thing *double bed (suppose to travel with my husband). One day before my check-in I called to a hotel and repeated my special wishes again, everything was confirmed. I also told to the hotel that my husband is no longer traveling and I stay over night with my two boys and asked them to make sure I have double bed. I got confirmation that everything is going to be as I wish. Unfortunately my one kid got sick the day of traveling and I arrived to a hotel with one kid only. Checked in with Trainee receptionist who was kind and quick. Went upstairs...my key did not work. Went down to change it and got in my room. It was room with two single beds not a double one that I requested and confirmed 2 times. I was thinking..what if I was there with my 2 kids!? 00:30 in the night. I did not feel good about it, disappointed. Went down again to talk with a kind receptionist who said that she can see my request and is very sorry about the wrong beds. Anyway, I stayed in this room. Just wanted to take a shower and go to sleep as I was also sick. Went to a bathroom and realized that the floor corners were all dirty, two corners had food crumbs and near shower some body hair, that made me feel even more sick. In the morning when I went to take shower I could not figure out how to find the right temperature as it was changing from cool to a burning hot very suddenly, continuously. Burned my back I just wanted to get out from this hotel. Only thing left was to have a quick breakfast and leave. Breakfast restaurant was extremely crowded and some people had to dine in a lobby area. I already felt unwelcome again but....as I took my food and found a table I realized how fast restaurant staff was working and had a kind and professional attitude. I understood that all staff was actually nice in the hotel and all the faults are not theirs. Overall: staff was very nice but the hotel elevators, corridor carpets and bathroom was dirty and room needs some updates. I hope they would be more careful with their guests special requests, specially when they confirm two times.
