We had checked numerous locations for an overnight stay in Sydney before travelling home by train to Kendall - Mid North Coast, NSW. Recommend this hotel for a night in a fabulous location to Darling Harbour & city easy walking to all locations - eating areas. Shopping supermarkets are near by as well, and the hotel has breakfast available too. Rooms are clean & comfortable for a short stay and very reasonable price, why pay exorbitant money for a night. Very happy here & staff are pleasant to talk too. Close to light rail & Central Station short distance away.
Basic accommodation. My room had 2 single beds, fridge, sink, kettle & tea and coffee, fan, tv. If you are just going to sleep and clean up it’s fine and the price is right. If you are going to spend time in the room I would go more upmarket as there is no room for a chair. I was there for 4 nights and never had a problem getting into a bathroom which are clean and very modern. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels daily. Staff very helpful. Would stay again.
Woolbrokers is a decent bed and breakfast located at a 5 minute walking distance from Darling Harbor. The rooms were neat and clean. The common shower which was shared amongst the rooms on the floor was also clean and well maintained. They had a buffet breakfast on offer as well- nothing fancy but a good start to the day before you set out exploring the sights and sounds of Sydney. There establishment has no lifts so keep that in mind if you have issues with lugging your luggage up the stairs. Depending on the side the room is facing, it can get pretty noisy as well at night. They have a strict 2 pm check-in policy but do have a storage room where you can leave your heavy luggage in case you arrive there before check-in time. The hotel also provides shuttle service to and from the airport. All in all, good value for money keeping in mind the location and the high costs of other accommodation options in the vicinity.
Strategic located at Pyrmont, within walking distance to Darling Harbour and Sydney Fish Market. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Helped us took 3 luggage to 3rd floor hotel room, and they even helped me on Uber reservation. Comfort stay in this hotel and hotel room is clean, cosy with free wifi. There are about 3 to 4 toilet/ shower rooms outside of room at each floor which are clean to use. We truly enjoy our stay in this cosy hotel. Highly recommend, and will be back.
I stayed one night with my family in early August 2017 and was certainly not over awed by this hotel. Very old and dated, no lift, noisey as on Main Street, bed was noisy, and a few other things. How ever the location is great, close to Darling Harbour and city centre, and for the price I thought it was ok. I would stay here again, purely only as an overnight stop. I wouldn't stay here for any length of time but as we only needed a bed for one night, it was fine. After all, you get what you pay for. I found the staff reasonable
Chose hotel for location so could walk n b close to darling harbour n convention center so booked Stay for 1 night here. Was greeted by rude receptionist, no warm welcome here. No lifts here, just stairs, no one to help with luggage to take up 3 flights stairs. Room so dated, huge saggy bed seen better days n rock hard. No bathroom in room its outside in hallway n smelt of urine all the time. This place is not a hotel but a bad back packer really with dated rooms, not clean overall, extremely noisy as on main very busy road n overpass n traffic constant beside our room so no sleep either. The windows were black with filth n had not been cleaned for months. On leaving we were greeted by same icy receptionist who once again couldnt even smile or ask us about our stay or take the time to thank us for staying, she didnt even take time to say a good morning. 1 night was more than enough n overall we were glad to leave n wouldn't return or recommend. Sadly this place has seen better days, needs new beds, pillows n a complete overall including customer services. Only good thing about this place is that they had free $2 start up sim cards in the information brouchers if u searched for them n apples at reception but breakfast was extra. No bar here either on site but nice restaurants bars at darling harbour.
Booked a room with ensuite. As others have said, it's on a noisy road and we had the room directly opposite reception at street level - I'm sure I heard the same motorbike roaring outside a few times each night. Having said that, we slept well, the bed was quite soft, the room warmed up easily with the wall heater, the ensuite was simple but very clean. Towels were particularly soft and fluffy. Wifi was fine. Apparently there's a continental breakfast available very cheaply, but I didn't go so can't report on it. Free apples at reception were a cute idea. The location is fabulous; an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Parking is capped at $16/24 hours with one depart/return in that time - a bargain! I thought it was a great choice for our 3 night stay.
No-frills, comfortable accommodation in a good location near Darling Harbour. Good public transport connections - bus, ferry, light rail. Pleasant staff and good value breakfast on offer. Plenty of clean, though shared, bathroom facilities.
Found it looking online for cheap accommodation. Booked in for two nights. Very secure, as key only access, check-in from 2pm. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you're not great with stairs, check which room perhaps beforehand as there's 3 flights, no lift. I stayed on the 3rd level, where rooms 20-28 are. No cupboard space in the room I stayed in. Fridge had water and the cracked mounted wall heater still worked fine. Comfortable enough single bed. The spare blankets were handy the one night it was cooler than usual. The bathroom and toilet I shared were clean, nice hot shower. There is one washing machine and one dryer, $3 per load, iron and ironing board. Laundry powder available at reception for $2-3. There's also continental breakfast, 7-9 am, $7.50 per person and you may have to book in - I didn't try it as I ate later at the shopping centre. Convenience stores and shopping/eating outlets well within 10 mins walking distance. Lots of traffic but not really noisy I thought and I'm a light sleeper. Great location though.
Went online looking for last minute budget accommodation near the city and came across the Woolbrokers Hotel. We were thoroughly surprised at how clean and spacious the room was, for the cheap price we paid. Bathroom amenities were provided and we slept comfortably. Breakfast food and environment was great too, would have been nice to have a bit more selection but still good nonetheless.
