Superb location for the money just in city centre, everything's within walking distance. Continental breakfast included. Good wifi, but extra charge. Smoke buts on balcony.
The hotel was nos what I had expected. Not Like shown on the picture. Very, very small. this hotel charges for every thing: internet (6 dlls per 2 hrs. with bathroom and shower in the room is an additional charge electric adapters, additional cost the people at the reception desk was not attentive they don't call taxis cell Internet cards, but don't give Tecnical support. The shower area was not clean well.
I thought the Y Hotel was great value for the money. It is rather far from the harbour, but has bus stops just a short walk away. Hyde Park is lovely and this is overall a nice area. The staff that I dealt with was up and down - some curt, others helpful. The room was clean and of good size. The bed was comfortable. The (shared) bathroom was clean, though it could have used another shower, as there was only one. The continental breakfast wasn't great, but the hot breakfast options were affordable and delicious. Overall, worth the money. Recommended.
The location was right in the down town CBD. Never having stayed in a hotel in a different country, it was different. The staff was very easy to get along with and ready to answer all questions, and I had a ton. But I would consider it more of a hostel then a hotel, no showers or toilets in the room. But since we weren't in the room a lot, too much to see, it wasn't that bad.I would really have like to have known about the bathroom situation before booking the room. But we still had a great time.
Clean room, great location, good rate. I would stay here again.
A niece celan hotel that offered friendly service at a very good price . The rooms were of adequate size and the beds were soft .
Grest location! The room was a bit cool . The heater did not work .
No flares but a clean room. 15-20 min walk to the opera house. Good for a night or two.
Clean. Near - walking distance to Hyde Park, St. Mary of the Cross Cathedral , Queen Victoria and West Field Malls. Most of the staff are very friendly especially the Filipino staff !!!
Excellent location. Close to Metro station and all tourist points of interest. My only complain is the hotel hallway does not smell very nice. But the room itself is clean. It's a great value.
This hotel is inexpensive and in a great part of the city. Walking distance to most of the historic parts such as the opera house and bridge. I would stay again for the price!
The Y Hotel Hyde Park is in a very good location. It is close to Hyde Park, a train stop and is within walking distance to the Sydney Opera House, botanical gardens and many other great Sydney attractions. The staff was helpful and the continental breakfast that consisted of toast, juice, and cereal was plentiful and tasty. My room had three twin beds, a private bath, refrigerator, and teapot. This hotel is perfect for guests who want to explore Sydney on foot and want a hotel for a bed, a hot shower, and a breakfast that is included in the room price.
The Hotel Is Very Affordable For It's Location. Everything Is Within A Twenty Minute Walk And They Have A great Complimentary breakfast For you To Start The Day. The Rooms However Are Small And You Have To Pay Extra For A Room With A Bathroom But It's More Than Adequate For People That Spend The Day out Of The Hotel.
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights with no complaints. The rooms were clean and it was a great location in the city.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the cost was low, room included breakfast (cereal and toast and coffee), pc's with internet access were available for a small hourly fee. Overall, a great value!
This was my second stay here so I must have liked it the first time around. The shared restroom was never an issue and the room was clean. The bed was not very comfortable but for the price, I'm not complaining. Located on the corner of Wentworth and Liverpool Streets, the location is perfect. Near the Museum train station so convenient access to/from the airport as well as everywhere else the subways can get you. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
The entry to the hotel was confusing. The staff behind the desk were dressed as if they work in a high class hotel however if you turn around the decor is old furniture and YMCA youth hostel looking. We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged because of another tenant. We were then quickly checked in and went up to the room assigned only to find someone in it. There are no security locks on the doors so we walked right in on her. I waited while my dau. went down to work that out. Again I felt like I was in an inexpensive youth hostel with old dingy furniture. Apparently the section with the elevators is a cheaper section where the tenants share a bathroom in the hall as several walked thru while I waited. Eventually we made our way to a newer section where our room was very modern looking and impecably made up. No extras but all the necessities. The room was extremely small so that you could hardly get around the twin beds. Had to crawl over the bed or a suitcase to get to the window shades. I liked the patio doors that made up the outside wall and made the room bright. The patio doors were in bad need of cleaning. They also did not fit tight as one night there was a hard wind and the wind made a loud noise blowing through them. Also we were on an alley side but close to the street and the street noises were very very loud. Many sirens, street cleaning trucks, other vehicles made a lot of noise through the night. For some reason there were also people frequently being loud and one night waking me up with yelling and arguing. Keep in mind we were on the 7th floor. The beds were comfortable.
The facility is clean and comfortable...the only compliant I have is the cost of the needed upgrade. I booked into a 4 bed room but found a person already in the bed that was allocated to me..no help from the staff..I was told the hotel was full and I would have to pay another $80 a night for the only room left.. single room accommodation...very disappointed and a money I did not budget for I would think twice about staying there again
very convenient, nice and clean. If I will ever come back to Sydney, I would like to stay in this hotel again.
My wife and I were there for 3 nights, the room was simple, bed, tv, fridge, tea station, closet, and towels. For a budget place, we feel like we got our monies worth. We stayed on the top floor (8th) and my only complaint was the water pressure in the shower was a bit on the low side. I tried taking a shower early (04:30) as well to see if it was simply a volume issue and had barely adequate pressure even then. Good deal, breakfast included, easy location (we walked to everything), and friendly and helpful staff. We'd stay there again.
