I appreciated the assistance when i first arrived, it is overwhelming coming from regional to city, found the reception quite helpful. it was great to just go straight into the parking without too much stress.
We recently stayed for two nights in a twin double bed room. The room was just beautiful with very comfy beds, it was very clean & the bathroom was just lovely. Unfortunately a few things let our stay down in that our room was on Phillip st which is really busy with traffic noise that turns into a drag strip at night. The loud thumping music played well into the early hours of the morning which we couldn't work out was coming from outside or from the motel bar. The fridge in the room has to be the smallest one we have ever seen so be careful if you need to keep things like water bottles & food cold cause it is really an inadequate size. The car parking isn't guaranteed even if you pay the motel before hand. We were really looking forward to staying here but we're left disappointed & not quite sure if for the expensive price we paid was worth it.
Huge issue with cleanliness of room! Smelled of cigarette smoke. It's a non smoking room! The first offer to resolve was for housekeeping to spray airfreshner. I had to persist and waited some time till I got another room. That is not customer service! Nor was I ever compensated. I'm sorry to rant but that issue really ruined my stay. Please update the room. The smell is embedded in the room walls and cannot just be sprayed! Then I had to really urge the hotel staff member to make a change after I said airrefreshner was not enough.
For our recent wedding we had a number of guests stay at the Parkroyal. All had nothing but praise for everything about the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and maintained to a high standard. The facilities are first rate, especially the very much appreciated bar. The staff were helpful, courteous and treated all the guests well. The food and drink was excellent. I especially want to thank Abhijeet for all his help in arranging and organising the group booking.
The location itself was close to the main café strip in the city. The rooms were nice, although the shower was a little grubby. Shower drainage wasn't the best in the room we had, so after about 15 seconds in the shower, the water would start building up around your feet. The parking fee was reasonable, from memory about $17 a day? we just paid that in cash when we checked out. Bottled water wasn't complimentary though. First time in an Australian hotel where there was a charge for water. (this water was complimentary though if you were a member of their rewards program)
We found out during the check in process that it had been 14 years since we stayed here last. The place overall was of a high standard and had not dated (more than likely refurbished some) since we were last there - very good. Only issue we had was the website booking service does not link the room type to the number of people staying in the room particularly if you have a child with you. We booked a superior room filling in the required information about number of adults and children. When we checked in we were given our room and it was quite obvious our child was older (11) - reception guy even asked him. Got to the room - one bed (yes it was a king). Went back to reception and they fixed it by finding another room with two doubles. Rooms themselves were good, clean and nicely appointed. Bathroom a little small but very well presented. Other issue was BAR30. It is advertised that it is open to late. We went out for dinner and thought it might be nice to have a drink in the bar when we got back. Got back to the hotel about 9:30 and bar closed - not sure where that is considered late (particularly on a Saturday night). Overall good experience though.
Lovely property that is well appointed and about 10minutes walk from Westfield Parramatta shopping centre and train line. I stayed here for a conference and the hotel coped well with the large group. Catering was delicious and meal options interesting and well cooked. My room was spacious and well appointed with internet included. I was able to easily catch a train into the city on Saturday night to meet a friend.
Room and Facilities were superb - quality and cleanliness. Some hotels in the vicinity can offer better value - im assuming that at my time of reservation, this hotel was just a bit more expensive than usual. Internet bandwidth can be improved. Service was excellent. Good location with good access to a train station, big supermarket, commercial establishments, restaurants, and a nice river and park.
Stayed here for three nights while in Parramatta for a wedding. Check in and check out was fast and efficient. Dined twice in the hotel restaurant; the food and service were very good. (There are a lot of local restaurants around, of a wide variety, if anyone wants to dine outside the hotel.) I would happily stay here again. Only thing of note was that my swipe card for my room, on my last morning, would not work on my room, though it worked for the lift. Reception sorted that out quickly; again, fast and efficient.
I usually stay at another venue but it was unavailable. Good hotel room with a nice work space for business travellers. Room was very comfortable but the bathroom was tiny. Staff were first class; only issue was a noisy air conditioner in room. But the up side was the windows open so off went the AC.
