The place is rubbish. The WIFI is slow and unusable, they give you one roll of toilet paper for a week, no one uses the pool as it's in the shade, the spa wasn't turned on or warm, the view was of the trees and nothing else, you aren't allowed to "play ball games on the grass", there was no light bulbs in some of the lights, the location is at the top of a massive hill, real bad in trying to get to Noosa beach and they literally telling you to get out bang on 10am check out time. Wouldn't recommend to anyone and will ruin your holiday as it did ours. Should have booked else where.
We needed a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment last minute and this came up. Clean, quite spacious with a garden view, lots of birds. It's a bit out of the way and you need a car but it's good value. We didn't use the pool as it's not that inviting and a bit in the open. The service was very good and everything clean and tidy.
We stayed here in march and were thrilled at how large the apartment was and how it had everything we needed. Such a beautiful place to be based and the reception staff were friendly and welcoming, We truly had a great time here and will definitely return, thank you
I was here with some collegues. The reception was good and also the first sensation entering the room. The apartment is huge, and every tool you need is present. Furthermore, we extended 3 more nights without problem about the reservation. Otherwise, a lot of cockroaches were present and they were very big. When paper toilet or shampoo finished, we had to ask for some more and they gave us just 1 paper toilette roll and 1 shampoo for 4 people. Probably after paying roughly 1000 dollars/6 nights, they should be a bit more generous, little precautions can make the difference. It's 20 minutes walking from the town or the beach and it is on the top of a hill. There isn't a luggage room.
We love visiting Noosa, and always stay on Hastings Street. However this time, we were late booking and on a budget when we came across Macquarie Lodge. Located just over a 1km up the hill from hasting street is this hidden gem. We checked in late on the Friday night, with our keys in the safe easy to find, with awesome instructions on how to find our room. We were pleasantly surprised when we went upstairs to find how very spacious and clean the apartments are. Yes they are older, but classically decorated. We loved our stay at Macquarie, we only wish it was longer than two nights!
Stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment over new year period. Plenty of room with a good size kitchen and living area. Surprisingly reasonable for such a peak period. You have to climb the hill when you come back from main beach but at that time of year the hill probably needed to be steeper to work off the Christmas cheer. Nice and quiet spot- would stay there again.
We stayed in Noosa in Dec 2016 at Macquarie Lodge, family of 5. Had a 3 bedroom apartment with view on the gardens. Very nice apartment, spacious, everything you need is there. Air co only in the living room, not in the bedrooms which can become really warm during summer time. Very quiet location. You need a car as the apartment is a little far from the main street. Only negative point : swimming pool in the residence is really small, photo on website does not reflect reality ....otherwise I recommend !
Stayed with family here- 10-15min walk down the hill to hasting street- units a bit dated- 2 door handles fell off on our 1st day- complex quite noisy when people especially children are in the pool which is quite small - when on balcony you can compete with your neighbours to have a conversation heard- easy walk to Noosa junction- friendly manager
Macquarie Lodge is a series of one, two and three bedroom apartments in a quiet riverside location in Noosa Heads. The apartments sit in a well-maintained tropical garden and are arranged in a U-shape around a heated pool and grassed area which leads down steps to the river. Our third floor apartment, Apartment 35, was superbly located on the north-west arm and faced the gardens/pool and the river. There was an elevator to our floor. The apartment had three bedrooms. The master bedroom had a queen bed, a walk-in-robe and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom had a queen bed, built-in-wardrobe and access to the balcony. The third bedroom had two single beds and a built-in-wardrobe. There was also a family bathroom with sink, ample storage space and a shower over the bath. A conveniently separate toilet was in the room next door. The connecting hallway led to the combined kitchen, dining room and lounge. The kitchen has been remodelled and was well designed. There is a stove, fridge, microwave, toaster and dishwasher. The supply of cutlery, crockery, pot, pans and kitchen implements was more than satisfactory. The dining table is situated next to a window with a superb view of the river and beyond. The living room has two leather couches, a large coffee table, a flat-screen television and a DVD player. The apartments have access to Foxtel. We had four adults staying at the apartment during our holiday and the size of the living space was more than adequate. There is access to the balcony through the sliding French doors of the living room. The balcony has its own outdoors table and chairs and was a very pleasant place to be on a balmy night. The balcony has views to the garden and pool and also north to the river and beyond. The apartment we rented has two parking spots in the secure basement car park, and there is an on-site manager should any issues arise during your stay. There is a beautiful and short bushland walk from the apartments down to Noosa Junction where you can find the IGA and Coles supermarkets, restaurants and cafes, shops, banks and teller machines and the local cinema and the Noosa Junction Bus Station for most points north and south. And, if you are looking for some great entertainment, the J Community Centre is at the end of the bushland walk just before you get to Noosa Junction and has regular concerts and shows on its program.
This accomodation is more like AirBnB where you get the furnished apartment only with very basic amenities. Toilet paper: We only got one roll of toilet paper for 4 nights of stay but luckily we had 2 bathroom apartment so had 2 rolls. Consider packing/buying extra toilet rolls. Towels: Towels are provided on the first day and not changed till the 8th day so we had to buy washing powder ($2 for 3 loads worth) and wash the towels every afternoon and dry them. Amenities: They provide you with soaps, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. No these are not refilled as there is no housekeeping. Cooking facilities: This is a big plus. Pots and pans, plates, glasses, cutleries etc all there. Just bring your cooking oil etc or just pick them up from local Coles. Location: Definitely recommend a hired car/your car. You do get a parking spot and it is easier with a car as it is not on the main tourist strip. Deco: We must have been given a refurbished apartment. The deco was very nice. Two TVs, a dining table for 6, plenty of sofa space etc. Balcony was nice too. Fridge: This one gets a special mention as it was a new double door huge fridge. Plenty of space, new and clean. Cleanliness: Very clean Bed: Queen bed with very soft mattress. Pillow was pretty good and didnt smell. Laundry: Consider packing with your own detergent if you are picky otherwise $2 for 3 loads worth. Washer and dryer are in good condition and easy to use so very handy. Pool: There is a pool but we didnt have time to use it. Looked quite well kept. Overall: Apartment, parking, facilities and location (because we had a car) were good. I just dont think 4.5 stars accurately reflected the lack of housekeeping services like new towels and replacement/refill of bathroom goods (body wash, toilet paper etc) daily. Would I come back: Yes, I would if it is this refurbished apartment that I am given and as I know what to expect of the house keeping.
