Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort5.0 out of 5.0

On a very wet Monday it was good to arrive at the Sofitel. Check in was seamless. Our room was on level 5 and was large and comfortable. Plenty of umbrellas available when we tackled the torrential rain. The solitel is next to the main boutique shopping street and the beach. With all parking in the area at a premium, the $25 a day for undercover parking, especially given the weather was well spent. All in all a lovely place to stay.
Our recent stay at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific was a very pleasing one. The staff is very friendly and brings good engagement and energy making for an informal and relaxed stay. The hotel is clearly built around its pool and delivering there with a well maintained pool facility and great energy delivered around the pool bar. Noosa as a destination is a fantastic place and the hotel is extremely well connected to surroundings sitting a stone throw away from the beach and the Noosa National park. Last but not least the property is right on Hastings street, the main shopping road in Noosa. However the location does not come free of trouble. Access to the restaurant for breakfast is a little odd as one has to exit the hotel main building to get there. The breakfast selection is however good and the chefs are very friendly. A small let down would be the coffees/coffee selection. The rooms are very spacious and well cleaned but would appear quite toned-down and simple to many. They are not as fresh and splashy as some other Sofitel hotels but rather closer to Pullman/Novotel standards. The same goes for the bathrooms well equipped with a bath and separate overhead shower cabin but lacking simple things like a proper shower hose.
The worst Sofitel Bar / Bistro I have been to around the world and possibly the worst Bar, full stop. It was a quiet Monday night but adjacent tables were not cleared for 2 hours, hamburger needed an electric saw to cut through the rubber "meat", the most bitter Moscow Mule with no ginger flavour, a table layout where diners have to move their chairs all the time to allow other patrons to pass and waiters not able to match orders with the right tables. Poor Staff attitude and certainly not the "affable casual laconic Queenslander" that we come to Noosa for. We raised these issues with out waiter. Par for course, he just didn't care. In contrast, we have loved dining at Locale at the other of Hastings St. David and his team run possibly one of the best bars and bistros in the world! Suggest the Sofitel management head down there and take a leaf out of his book. Cheers
My wife and I spent 8 nights at this hotel and had a relaxing and pleasant stay. We felt that the hotel is well managed and the staff were all helpful. The bedrooms are large, modern and well appointed. We found the breakfast buffet to be very comprehensive and lacked nothing. The pool is very nice and the food and drink offering is good. The hotel has a large underground parking accessible from the lobby by elevator.
We had a lovely stay. It was very relaxing and close to restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly and happy to assist us with any questions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would recommend a pool view.
We had not been to Noosa for a long time and so glad we went back. The Sofitel offers everything. We ate in the restaurant every night for 5 nights. The pool view room was lovely and large. I think the only negative is the check in as we waited for 20 minutes to be served and then they gave us the wrong room type when I had booked it 12 months in advance.
My husband and I visited the hotel in February for 3 nights and had such a lovely time we booked again for 5 nights. This time I booked a luxury suite with village view. It is costs over $600 per night. On entering the vestibule into the room I smelt damp. On entering the room I noticed the same strong smell and noticed tired decor and carpet. Not like the previous room we stayed in at all. I went onto the ‘private’ terrace to find despite shadecloths it was overlooked by all the rooms above. The village view promised was the roof of the small mall next door. I wanted to complain but thought better of it as I thought if I got nowhere it would only spoil my vacation. Night 3 was last night. The function room was booked by Noosa hospital for a Christmas function. What I didn’t realise was our room was directly on top of this room in fact probably over where the band was playing. The soundproofing is poor so the sound came into our room until midnight so we did not sleep. It could even be heard over the tv. I phoned guest services for earplugs and when I said the sound was unacceptable she said she didn’t realise and would ask them to turn the sound down. Well that obviously wasn’t going to happen. So we spent a noisy night in our $600 smelly tired old room.Shame on you Sofitel.
We arrived about 2 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon from the Sunshine Airport. Check in was fast and we soon were in the lift to our 3rd floor river view room. The view and size of the room took both of us by surprise, it was fab. The room was so clean and superbly decorated, there was nothing we didn't like. We had a balcony overlooking the bridge and river with a table and two chairs. The hotel is in a great position on Hastings street with plenty of designer shop mixed in with bars and restaurants. The pool was good with a swim up bar and waiter/waitress service to your sun beds. The beach is minutes away just across the road and between the shops. We had an evening meal in the main restaurant which in on the main Hastings street. The food was lovely with reasonably priced drinks. Our only real, but small complaint was that the bar overlooking the river, was only open from 4:00-8:00. We had a rainy day in our 5 night stay so as a result the front bar/restaurant was very busy, we couldn't get a seat so we thought we would use the other bar but it was shut. We also tried about 7:50 on our way out one night but were told sorry they were just closing up. Surely the Hotel are throwing away money here when the hotel guests are willing to pay for bar drinks. We had a day out on the river behind the hotel where you can catch the ferry to Tewantin. It is a hop on hop off ferry so you can choose when or how many times you want to get off. Great value for $25 each. We also had an all day trip to Fraser Island which is a must. We got picked up at 6:30 and returned at 5:00. It was an organised trip booked by a company next to the hotel on the Main road. It cost $120 each but it was probably the best day we had in our 17 day Australia trip. Overall the hotel is Fabulous, clean and in a great position.
Stayed 2 nights with my husband. We were happy but expected more .... Love its locaiton as has direct access to this main street with all nice restaurants and clothing stores. Staffs were friendly, nice. The hotel itself is very well maintained and clean. Room was spacious, love th3e bathroom with a big bath tub for couple. Wifi was kind of weak though. Breakfast area was beautiful. While I had to say Breakfast was below my expectation, they serve some really LOW-quality ham ... But the egg station did a very good job. However with this money I expect a complimentary coffee as you actually didn't serve me much. And when I paid the cappuccino and found the foram was not smooth. I was a bit mad. If you charge me plz serve something nice. Overall, it is okay to stay there. But I am not sure to come back.
We stayed at the Sofitel Noosa November 2017 and while it was an overall good experience, there’s a few things that are not quite right. For whatever reason the staff continually greeted us with “Bonjour” and other French greetings. While they mean well this is not France or anything like it. It’s Queensland with Straya accents. The whole thing felt very try hard. Everything else is good and I’d especially like to acknowledge the hard working pool staff. Just tone it down a bit guys.
