Terrible hostel. Do not book here! Check in was nasty with slow and grumpy staff who seem to just hate talking to people. I feel like the app was stupid and useless and there should probably be more people working when you have bus loads of people coming in at once for tours. Somehow all other hostels can manage quick efficient check instead except here. Pool nice and refreshing but not enough space around it for everyone. Rooms were disgustingly hot. Hardly slept before my Fraser island tour. Air con does NOT WORK. No matter how much the staff want to argue and be defensive saying it does and was on before they left work, it doesn't do what air con does and did absolutely nothing to cool down the room in nearly 40° heat. (With 16 people in the room!) And it just coincidentally (apparently) goes on at 9pm...exactly the time reception closes. So when it doesn't work you can't say anything. But I'm sure nomads would love to respond with a defensive comment as they do with all negative reviews. Bathrooms are kinda gross and the floor is wet at all times (in the entire room) which is not only gross but huge risk of injury. Beds are all very loud and creek and make so much noise with every minor movement. Bar staff were rude, unclear and don't even know their own products. Menu says something comes with chips and yet they'll argue it doesn't. No point in eating there though, the food wasn't anything special. Kitchen was insanely hot. Only cool room was the bar. Ha! Wonder why... Laundry was expensive. Smoking area was very central meaning everyone has to breathe it in no matter where you are. Thought I'd extend my stay after Fraser for more time in Noosa but I absolutely will not be staying in this hostel any longer. Worst one I've experienced in all my Aus travels. And to be honest, if the facilities aren't in top shape that's one thing, but having such rude and unhelpful staff just ruins the entire experience. Hire some people who can actually work hospitality and can actually smile at people. You'd be surprised how much that can help. We are all here for a good travel experience and you've definitely ruined this entire part for me. Will not recommend and will not return. Not inclined to stay in another nomads property either.
Rooms were a great size and clean. Air con in room only turned on when room was too hot so we had a fan. But the room wasn’t very cool at all! We had to keep the door open. Shower and sink together and toilet separately. Could have done with sink and toilet together. - checking in process is long winded and a bit of a faff. If you arrive early to check in, you have to download an app and scan your passport, fill in your details etc. By the time you’re done you’re at the back of the queue again! - Kitchen is a nice size. Although food in fridge was cleared out and up to date, the hanging ‘dry’ food was out of date by up to two weeks! Flys everywhere!! -good Vibe of hotel, this is a NO ALCOHOL hostel. They have a club on the side with a themed evenings every night! We joined the UV party. Great music and friendly bar staff! I enjoyed my stay, the out of date food and air con let this place down though.
Great atmosphere, KBs is a fun joint each night with daily events and specials. Kitchen is a bit grungy and there is never any cutlery and no one drys their dishes so you often end up with a dish full of water. Rooms are decent overall
My friend and I had booked to stay here for 2/3 nights in a private room... Unfortunately our booking had been missed/deleted/never received along with 2 other people's bookings. Instead of having our own private room we ended up in a room that was being renovated, which was the only room they had spare... we shared with another 3 people. Thankfully we all got along really well and had a laugh in the room. We were joking saying that we were in the reject room because they hadn't actioned our bookings. The hostel has a club which was quite good. The pool was lovely on a hot day! Thankfully, once we left we heard that this hostel is infested with bed bugs... maybe it was a good thing that we were in a room that wasn't being used anymore because we didn't suffer any bites!! I wouldn't return back here because everything was very unorganised.
Noosa is a nice quiet place, the hostel was well thought out and a good cheap bar next door. The food is good and at nighttime is turns into a night club (never went so don't know how this was). We shared an 8 bed room with ensuite. Very spacious! The room was clean. Beds were very noisy and squeaky whenever anyone turned over. The toilet was broken so constantly noisy running water, very annoying during the night!! The pool area is lovely, lots of seats and nice size. Staff at reception were a bit full on about checking in on an app that was very confusing and slowed the whole process down! Wi-Fi was decent and free.
Stayed for a week in January but won't be returning. Stayed in a 16 bed as part of our Fraser island tour which was well laid out and cleaner however our nights outside of this were in 8 beds which were not clean, lots of ants and cockroaches. Kitchen was also dirty and we used it as little as possible. Air con only works 9pm til 1am and there's only one unit in the one corner of the 16 bed so it gets very hot. Beds aren't great either.
The beds had hair on them when we got there, there were old pop bottles behind the door - clearly the room wasn't cleaned before we came. Then we got our room searched and they took some of our alcohol bottles and didn't want to give them back when we were leaving.... the place is rundown, dirty and when we showered, a Strong smell of gasoline filled the room!!! Also SO hot in the rooms, air con only on from 9 pm to 8am.
Thank you Adam on the travel desk for being upfront and not trying to sell me something I didn’t want. Rare! Overall the hostel was decent but they wouldn’t help when they gave friends bad info - petty
Good hostel with good wifi connection and a good nightlife. However there was such a jobsworth working on reception who had way to much of a high opinion of himself. Apart from that yeah it was sound.
They claim that they have AC in the rooms and they do! However they only turn it on at 9 o'clock in the evening and then they turn it off again at 4... They Wi-Fi is poor and the kitchen is nasty. Good hammocks tho and good pool. And the staff was nice.
