Hotel Royal

Generally the hotel was fine. Older reviews suggest it has been refurbished in recent times which if it is the case then I'm not sure I'd have quite gone for the retro look myself as it does to some extent make it look more dated than it probably is. The location is good and room was spacious. But no frills, just a few toiletries and a small bottle of water. No fridge, safe, trouser press etc I don't think this is untypical of german hotels but having stayed at hotels in Cologne (Residence am Dom), Koblenz (Ibis City) and Mainz (Konigshof) as part of our trip there wasn't anything about the Hotel Royal that made it worth an extra €20-€30 per night.

Nice friendly welcome received. Location is at the top of the main drag, Koenigstrasse. So that is convenient for a short stay in the city. My actual room was across the street in a separate building. Which felt more like I was staying in an apartment. The room itself was a single room. A bit dated fittings, but it was satisfactory for the price. Overall, this was a fine hotel for 1 night. It was basic, but fine. I would not recommend this place for a longer stay than a night or two. The building I was in, backed onto a bar or hotel. So there was a little noise at night.

We just returned from a super Weekend at the Royal Hotel in Stuttgart. The Hotel has an excellent location in the heart of the city and is very convenient for shopping and visits. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities needed. A highlight was the restaurant experience. Fantastic asparagus with Wienerschnitzel ! Great value for money. We will return to the hotel Royal in Stuttgart sooner than later.

I had to "last-minute" book a hotel in Stuttgart for myself and my business partner. The last few times I had big problems finding affordable hotel rooms in Stuttgart, because all is always booked out. I travel and sleep in hotels for more than 200 days/nights per year and I have seen a lot, all over the world. When booking through HRS, this was the only hotel in the city, at a price that would let me sleep without having regrets. Unfortunately the reviews on HRS were not really "thumps-up" - therefore I had my expectations set for a "medium" experience and I had no choice anyway. BUT I must say, I was completely surprised. This hotel will be my favorite in Stuttgart from now on. Beginning with the charming staff, very helpful, super friendly - the rooms have a very significant style, each with an own aura. Very clean, the beds - perfect and to finish it of, a breakfast, that want´s you to stay all morning. The location, in the middle of the city, bars and restaurants all around the hotel, parking in the garage - I can only summarize - PERFECT! (I should not write this, because the next time I want to come here, the hotel will be fully booked...)

Having stayed at several downtown hotels like Pullman, Ibis and Arcotel, the Royal is now my favorite. The location is superb, the rooms and bathrooms spotless and the bedding extremely comfortable. The hotel has tremendous charm. The best surprise was their dining. Great breakfast and one of the best dinners I've ever had in a hotel restaurant which has a very laid back and comfortable ambience. Old world charm at unbeatable pricing.

Do not expect a regular business hotel, this is a quite unusual experience. The staff cannot be more friendly, helpful and polite and the location is right on the center at walking distance to all main places in town and just 10 min by car from the central railway station. The decoration is a very nice trip back to the 80's and I am not being sarcastic at all. Common areas are beautiful, elegant, very well maintained and decorated with a 80's retro like taste. I found the restaurant and lobby facilities just beautiful. If you are picky you will find the decoration of the spacious rooms dated, I found it again retro. Ok the green corridors of 1st floor might not be the most beautiful thing but it makes sense within the experience of this hotel. I have stayed at #117. The room is massive! And that plasma screen!? Huge! I will definitely stay at the ROYAL again if I need to be back to Stuttgart and I recommend if you are open to something unconventional and not pretentious. ENJOY travels!

This hotel is perfect for a visit to Stuttgart: the location is great, very central. The ground floor rooms are in a wonderfully preserved late 70s-early 80s style, I hope the managers of the hotel appreciate the beauty and rarity of what they have. I was staying in a newly-refurbished room with new bathroom and furniture. Very elegant and comfortable. Also very clean. I did not have a chance to try breakfast as I had to leave early, but I will definitely be back! I hope the owners mean to maintain the stylish ground floor rooms, they give character and uniqueness to the whole experience. I would just like to add that everybody was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Room furnitures are very old and incomfortable. My bed was making noise everytime I moved. But the worse is; I droped some yogurt on my room carpet. Tried to clean some of it and I tought room cleaner can handle the rest easly. When I come back in the evening, they charged me 300€ for carpet. They said it is imposible to clean it and they have to change the carpet. Manager did not speak to me directly even if I asked many times. To prove that they are wrong, I bought a standart carpet cleaner spray and cleaned it in 10 mins. They could not even find the mark when I asked them. But charging a customer 300€ for a yogurt mark and not even speaking to me in person was a huge scandal.

Location of hotel – I would say location is excellent. Located just beaside the main shopping road in Stuttgart center. It is just 1 km from Stuttgart station. Accessibility – One can catch taxi from Airport/train station or trains to reach the nearest train station to hotel Surroundings – Busting with people and market around, the surrounding is quite lively. One can go shopping around or spend evening at pubs nearby (though most pubs allow entry to specific nationals only) Dinning – Hotel does not have dinning option. But it is not required at all. There are many options to eat out around the hotel. Rooms – I would say this was the best hotel I have stayed in Stuttgart. The hotel ambience is nice. Rooms are large and spacious. The overall appearance of room is excellent. Bathrooms are large compared to other hotels Staff – The very plus point of this hotel is helpful staff . There were more than eager to ask me about my travel plan and guide me to make it more comfortable. Checkin/checkout – This was quick without any hassel. Hardly took any time in check in and checkout.

Although the hotel has a great location just 1 km from the main train station in the corner of the main shopping street. Was nice to see it has been getting renovated: the rooms are a bit old and smelly, the AC was not working so it has been a long warm night what I have spent there. Otherwise bathroom was clean and fairly ok, wifi was fast and worked properly the huge flat screen TV was quite impressive. Still missing minibar, AC, a pen, some notepad or maybe a small fridge! Breakfast is quite small very limited variety: 2-3 types of bread, butter, jam, 2 hams, salami, salmon basically. Elevator was not working because the constructor company was using it to transfer some build material.. Hope it is getting better after renovation.
