Room was a bit old but still fresh, a good thing is that the room diddnt have a carpet. This hotel is all about the excellent location. The staff was friendly as well and there was pretty many parking spots for the cars. I was there for 2 nights, I could go back for a couple of nights again.
Location to city center good but booked with lastminute.com and staff kept asking for a Voucher when had ref number on the email confirmation ? That took 10 mins to sort out. The rooms where spotless but bed i found too hard and room to warm even with the heat turned off but all facilities OK, the breakfast was average for the price reasonable choice.
We were not satisfied for the 4 days we stayed. I do not recommend to anyone. Breakfast is also very poor.. old furniture.. this hotel needs to be renovated Also hotel staffs were very rude. It must be max. 2 Star Hotel not 4 Star sorry!
The hotel is not the very modern hotel you could think of, but - The room is wide, with very good bed, and very nice bathroom, with 2 sinks!!! we thought it is the location, in the heat of the city, with parking, was the best choice. Breakfast was wonderful
Now this was a good surprise! Mid-range and better hotels in Stuttgart are very expensive, so I decided to get the best rated one at my maximum price point, which turned out to be Hotel Royal that day: a choice by default more than anything else. The hotel is within walking distance from the station, 15 to 20 minutes with luggage. Whilst the reception area is small and feels a bit cramped, the receptionists are kind, quick and efficient. I had a single room on floor 4 …. This is soooo 1970’s!! and authentically 1970’s as well, as I recognized the plumbing fixtures from childhood. They don’t make them anymore, so where do they get the spare parts??? That being said, the relatively small size, dark wood paneling and very poor ventilation make for a stuffy room. After taking a shower, humidity goes into the bedroom and that is definitely unpleasant. The noise level is acceptable, even with an open window. I went to the restaurant downstairs; it has a good reputation with the locals and here again, the decoration is straight from 40 years ago. Most patrons are even much older than that. Service is excellent, young, very well-trained professionals who are friendly without being pushy or out of place. My food was excellent (veal’s heart in wine sauce) and the wine list has a decent selection with a good price/quality ratio. The optional buffet breakfast is fine: lots of choice, good quality, good service, but the egg selection is limited (hard-boiled only). In summary, this is a family-owned and -operated independent hotel that doesn’t have all the frills and the gimmicks of hotel chains and is in need of a makeover, but it is run very professionally and the staff made me feel welcome and valued as a guest. Just improve the room ventilation. Seriously.
We stayed over night in this hotel. There are two buildings of this hotel which are across to each other in sophienstrasse. The one I stayed was the old building with reception and restaurant. The room was old fashion but pretty clean. The hotel location is quite good as it is easy to reach konigsstrasse attractions.
Generally the hotel was fine. Older reviews suggest it has been refurbished in recent times which if it is the case then I'm not sure I'd have quite gone for the retro look myself as it does to some extent make it look more dated than it probably is. The location is good and room was spacious. But no frills, just a few toiletries and a small bottle of water. No fridge, safe, trouser press etc I don't think this is untypical of german hotels but having stayed at hotels in Cologne (Residence am Dom), Koblenz (Ibis City) and Mainz (Konigshof) as part of our trip there wasn't anything about the Hotel Royal that made it worth an extra €20-€30 per night.
Nice friendly welcome received. Location is at the top of the main drag, Koenigstrasse. So that is convenient for a short stay in the city. My actual room was across the street in a separate building. Which felt more like I was staying in an apartment. The room itself was a single room. A bit dated fittings, but it was satisfactory for the price. Overall, this was a fine hotel for 1 night. It was basic, but fine. I would not recommend this place for a longer stay than a night or two. The building I was in, backed onto a bar or hotel. So there was a little noise at night.
We just returned from a super Weekend at the Royal Hotel in Stuttgart. The Hotel has an excellent location in the heart of the city and is very convenient for shopping and visits. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities needed. A highlight was the restaurant experience. Fantastic asparagus with Wienerschnitzel ! Great value for money. We will return to the hotel Royal in Stuttgart sooner than later.
I had to "last-minute" book a hotel in Stuttgart for myself and my business partner. The last few times I had big problems finding affordable hotel rooms in Stuttgart, because all is always booked out. I travel and sleep in hotels for more than 200 days/nights per year and I have seen a lot, all over the world. When booking through HRS, this was the only hotel in the city, at a price that would let me sleep without having regrets. Unfortunately the reviews on HRS were not really "thumps-up" - therefore I had my expectations set for a "medium" experience and I had no choice anyway. BUT I must say, I was completely surprised. This hotel will be my favorite in Stuttgart from now on. Beginning with the charming staff, very helpful, super friendly - the rooms have a very significant style, each with an own aura. Very clean, the beds - perfect and to finish it of, a breakfast, that want´s you to stay all morning. The location, in the middle of the city, bars and restaurants all around the hotel, parking in the garage - I can only summarize - PERFECT! (I should not write this, because the next time I want to come here, the hotel will be fully booked...)
