Just visited this hotel, and overall it was a good stay. amazing location.. You cannot ask for more, really! Directly in front of the Cathedral, close to everythibg else, I didn't use public transportation at all. Staff is really nice and helpful. The bed is super confy and the shower really good. The only cons i found were the noise and the view.. - the view from the room is.. Well, non existent. Don't get fooled by the brochure pictures, the room with a view are only the superior ones, the ones at the normal price don't have any. I had to windows: one overlooked the main hotel stairs. So there is no way I can open the curtains without the whole hotel seeing me in my room... Very odd! The other window (frosted) overlooked a wall and an empty area behind the hotel, were pigeons live.. So no way I can open the window or the birds will fly in the room! So i had very limited options for some fresh air, and the room is dark because of the lack of proper light. -the noise I am not referring to the cathedral bells, that is expected because we are so close. I am referring to the lack of sound insulation in the rooms.. The floor is badly insulated and whenever someone walks it will creak badly.. so you will hear your upstairs neighbours walking around, going to the toilet at night (mine went four times..), getting ready early in the morning when you want to sleep in instead.. EARPLUGS ARE A MUST FOR A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP!!
They upgraded us to a cathedral view room. So excellent. Lovely hotel with lots of nooks and crannies. Quirky and cute. A very friendly staff! Before we arrived we had several questions for the hotel, which they answered quickly and kindly via email. Would definitely stay here again and again!
The location was great. Right in front of the beautiful Cathedral, one of our best attraction of the trip. It is very easy to visit on foot Strasbourg Centre from this location. The service was great. However, the room was really small but we did not mind, given the location, and there are no close affordable parking. The breakfast buffet offered many options.
It was a very nice, clean hotel. We had a room with an extra alcove and window seat. Great breakfast. Very lovely. The staff was very helpful and spoke English well. Fantastic location. We will be back :)
This is actually a very lovely hotel in Strassburg. We love the view and the design of the hotel. It is fairly clean for a stay. But I would not reccomend this place for people with walking disabilities. There is a "lift" stated in the list of facilities in the hotel but the lift does not connect the ground floor of the hotel to the first floor. The only painfully "accessible" way for my 70 years old grandmother to get to our room was the spiral staircase. Moreover, the daytime and evening staff here has never took initiative to greet my family and I. I greet them sometimes but I realised that they would not greet any of my family members at all as we enter and leave the hotel. But they would greet other guests... who are caucasians. This may be a bold accusation but we are not oblivious. We have travelled enough around the world to notice when we are not welcomed. The only staff member who always greeted us and smile was the one in the reception at the late-night shift. Cheers to the man. Therefore, if the issue is to not accept asian(chinese-looking for your ease of identification) guests, then please state it out in the hotel descriptions. But of course, if it's a misunderstanding and lack of training, I apologise; please reflect and improve on this. You still have a lot of potential to be better.
During the hottest days of June, it was a major relief to spend if only one night in a wonderful hotel with air-conditioning. Location is great. If you ask for a quiet room -as we did- you’ll get one away from the cathedral, but also away from the noise. A bit of a walk-up, and all overnight parking, while close, is very expensive. Much better to park a few steps away, and on the way back (not more than 12 minutes) enjoy a beverage of your choice. Room was spectacular (#48) and price/service ratio great. Much better than in some places in Switzerland where we came from. Breakfast is VERY nice.
Only good thing about hotel was location. Which is also a problem when it’s summer because my room was located in the attic and no ac. Slept with windows open and a fan and was still 80 plus in the room. Also windows where open so prepare to wake up when the sun comes up or church bells start ringing. If your handicap not a option for this hotel. Book a modern hotel. Hotel was overpriced for nothing. Hated this hotel.
Great little hotel. clean normal sized rooms with comfortable bed. Did not eat there but was included. Staff very helpful. all amenities needed for quick business trip. Only drawback would be no wheelchair access. Hotel is spread over several levels and buildings sort of like a maze. Quaint.
In an interesting old building opposite the cathedral, this is the perfect location for visiting Strasbourg (one caveat: it's in a pedestrian zone, so don't take too much luggage). Lovely view of the cathedral from the dining room (and presumably from the more expensive rooms). Comfortable room and excellent breakfast. What more could one want?
I highly recommend this hotel. It's a really lovely hotel, nice rooms, more spacious than I expected, clean and very tidy and it's in a wonderful location. Wifi worked well. The staff were fantastic. Val especially went above and beyond what I would normally expect from hotel reception. Thanks for an amazing stay in Strasbourg :)
