I would highly recommend the Hotel Diplomat! It is in a fabulous, central location in Stockholm. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms charming and the staff could not have been more helpful! One of the bartenders Carl, was a fellow American and offered lots of tips and advice for my niece studying in Stockholm! The Hotel Diplomat is the place to stay in Stockholm!!!
I loved this hotel! The location is walkable to shops, restaurants, Gamla Stan, so many museums, docks - it's near everything. The food in the restaurant onsite (Tbar) is so good. Try the toast skagen! There are full breakfast options and variety. Plus there are many places within the hotel to relax and lounge. We enjoyed ending our evenings in the cocktail lounge with Carl. I loved the style of this hotel as well; it had a feel of the 20s but was very modern. The staff at the reception and cocktail lounge were responsive and professional. The service at the restaurant was a little slow, allowing you to linger, but this seemed to be the same at all the restaurants that we visited in the city.
The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect. Rooms are comfortable. Much more charming than a big hotel. Will return definitely.
The Diplomat offers a great location on the strand, not a long walk from the museums on Djurgården, Gamela Stan, boats for touring and many other items. The staff was friendly and helpful, a good breakfast. The room wasn't large but offered a balcony on the side of the hotel that offered views of the strand and the water. The Diplomat is a good hotel and recommend staying there.
The hotel was charming. The location was great. The room, even though small, was clean and nice. We had a double room and the small balcony added to the charm of the room. The breakfast was very good…..BUT, I could not get a Wi-Fi connection in our room. After my several inquiries at the front desk, I finally asked if I could speak to the manager. And they replied the manager could not do anything about it and they would send a 'janitor' to my room #who never showed up, of course#!!! We also had afternoon tea in the restaurant per one of our local friend’s recommendation. That was the most expensive afternoon tea that we ever had #$95 for two!#. Not to mention the quality was so bad. The service was poor and late. The pastries were old and the tea, what the hotel is proud of, was not tasty. We asked to change it to black tea. The replacement was not brewed at all either. Very disappointing!
Stately hotel updated in modern Scandinavian style. Comfortable beds and pillows, large bath, convenient walk to sights. Only 1 small elevator so that can be a problem with lots of luggage. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel location is perfect. It is a pleasant walk to Galma Stan, all museums and modent downtown and shopping. Rooms and beds are very comfortable. The hotel restaurant has both great food and great view.
Staff was very friendly. Location is great. Be sure to ask for a water view room!
