Much improved, expand fitness room hours, please

Several months ago, I stayed here and thought it was OK given the price, but that was the only consideration otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen to try it again the room in hallway had some mildew smells, and I was disappointed in the very limited hours for the fitness room. This visit brought welcomed updates and changes however, the 8 PM close of the Fitness room seems unreasonable and out of line with what I generally see in the hotels where I stay on all kinds of trips, including 24 hours. It doesn’t seem unreasonable for someone to be exercising after 8 PM and I would say if it can’t be 24 hours, 5 AM would make a great deal of Travelers happier The smells were gone and the room on the second floor, I was given was much nicer than the previous one on the same level as the reception desk. I don’t remember if last time the coffee was substandard, but today’s coffee, including espresso and cappuccino all complementary was extraordinary and delicious. I would stay here again and look forward to continued improvements.

The room was average for the price. The Golf course and development has some great history but it is time for an update on the buildings. The grounds and pool were average too. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but it was busy. We did like the location outside of campus but easy access to the stadium and campus activities.

Toftrees is a nice spot near State College, we stayed while dropping my son at school. We did not play the course, I think it’s private, but it looks beautiful. The Field Burger and Tap is popular because the food is solid and the atmosphere is casual. The wait for a table of 6 was reported to be 75 min on a Friday night at 8pm; it was closer to 45. The hotel is a bit dated, but still a cut above. We found out that the ceiling did not have insulation against loud neighbors. This is not the fault of the hotel, but also not something I’ve experienced at a Hampton Inn (or similar). The staff was very responsive when I called them at 5:30 am to address the arguing couple above. So plus marks for the site. I would stay there again; would request a 2nd floor, and endeavor to NOT argue with MY wife at 5AM 😀
