I rarely leave negative reviews and usually choose to say nothing instead, but unfortunately this experience warrants sharing. On the first morning of our four-night stay, we discovered there was no hot water, leaving us with cold showers. The towels were the worst I have ever encountered—every single one was threadbare and heavily stained. We initially assumed it was a one-off and searched for alternatives, but all available towels were in the same condition. There was also only one electrical outlet in the bedroom, located behind the bed. I had to pull the bed away from the wall to access it, only to find that half of the outlet did not work. This meant I had to choose between having the light on or charging my phone, but not both. I contacted the owner via text to explain the issues. His initial response was simply, “leave,” which was shocking. After I sent a photo of one of the towels, he acknowledged they were unacceptable and said he would bring replacements. The following day when I called about the lack of hot water, he stated he could not ask his plumber to come out over the holidays and again told us we should find other accommodation. This was New Year’s Eve, with no realistic option to find alternative accommodation at such short notice. As two women traveling alone, we felt increasingly uncomfortable dealing with an angry and dismissive owner. He also expected us to wait in for the plumber or leave the house unlocked for him. Overall a unpleasant experience.
