Chateau La Chaire

You would need a lot of high class hotel experience in order to fault the Chateau La Chaire. Set in a magnificent position adjacent to the lovely Rozel bay. It is a grand old house that has been well maintained over the years. On arrival the reception staff were friendly and efficient and the complimentary daily newspaper was a pleasant surprise. We were taken to our room which was very clean with lots of accessories and complimentary bottled water that was replaced every day. The restaurant was perfect with the area roughly divided in two with a wood panelled section and a conservatory section. We chose to eat breakfast in the conservatory and the evening meal in the panelled room as it was most appropriate for a leisurely meal and a bottle of fine wine. If you are lucky enough to be served by the masterful and discreet Maitre d’ Michael, with the perfect team back up of Kasia and George then your whole evening meal was a great culinary experience. The food was faultless and consisted of two menus one for fine dining and one for the summer menu. Plenty of choice and the fine dining menu was a delight to savour the various flavours and presentations. The summer menu gave diners plenty of alternatives but none the less appetising. There have to be some down sides but they are small and picky. No tea or coffee in the rooms and it was obvious that there used to be as the sockets were blanked off. Nice to come in after a long day to a cuppa! One of the items on the fine dining menu was a Bailey’s cheese cake. It was the size of a large postage stamp and I couldn’t taste the Baileys, but that’s it after a whole weeks stay there. You don’t really need to hire a car there as the bus service in Jersey is excellent, frequent and economic when you buy a travel card. English concessionary travel cards are not accepted. Overall excellent hotel backed up by well trained attentive friendly staff.

The website doesn't do it justice. The staff really make this hotel. From the moment we arrived it felt very special. The staff should truly be commended on making this hotel Superb. Michael the F&B manager was very accommodating and his attention to detail is excellent. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner along with the pub and the food quality and presentation was faultless. I would without any hesitation recommend this hotel for people looking for a sophisticated hotel away from all the hustle and bustle of St Hellier. We mention also to Kasia and George who gave first class service.

Old style service that makes you feel just a little bit special. The food was excellent quality and good choices. We felt this was good value at £27 for 5 courses. It did get very warm in the conservatory but it was lovely to sit outside for coffee afterwards.

Beautiful hotel situated in a lovely, quiet part of Jersey. If you're after a peaceful, relaxing break in a 19th Century chateau within beautiful grounds & scenery then this is the one for you. We were greeted warmly and as we arrived well before check-in time and room was not ready, we were offered a complimentary pot of coffee in the garden. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality. Service throughout was excellent and very friendly. Bus to St Helier stops just down the hill and is £2 per person. Taxi fares are expensive, so busses are an economical way to get round the island. Hotel has a pub down the road with its own separate restaurant, which was excellent quality and service also. Highly recommend this place.

This is a superb hotel , restaurant hidden in the old botanical gardens.food is good and service is excellent . We where there on a warm but wet day but it was great If you have the chance give it a try.

The hotel has a wonderful location on the North East corner of the island. It's quiet. A regular Liberty Bus service to St Helier (takes 20 mins) is a 2 minute walk down the hill to Apple Cottage. The chateau sits a short walk from Rozel Bay and harbour, very pretty, bit of an uphill walk though. It's totally charming. Sitting having breakfast on the sun kissed terrace is a delight. Food is fine dining, of an excellent standard, but the best meal by far is breakfast. Staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful, a real delight, taking complete pride in their service. It will not disappoint, tastefully elegant without fuss but with a charm to delight.

Great food nad lovely staff but we were given a superb room with a balcony bedroom area , all of which was superb - including a dining facility for 10! - but the hot water pipe for I think the whole hotel went through the room in a large pipe under the window! It was so sweltering we had to ask for a change for which we had not "compensation/ reduction" despite the bed being about two sizes smaller! Great shame,

How lovely to be greeted by friendly and efficient staff. Nothing we asked was too much trouble and everything was performed with a smile and efficiently. I would have no problem recommending Chateau La Chaire to anybody.

Stayed for my Birthday at Easter.. Our secind visit.. Good Food..Great Staff.. Lovely rooms. Close to Bay.. we ate at Hotel each evening as the food was great and the cocktails are good too. We will be back soon.

This was our 6th stay at this fantastic hotel and each time has been just as good as the last! The staff can't do enough for you and are so friendly. The rooms are excellent, everything you could wish for, the atmosphere is great and the food just to die for - especially the cream teas on the terrace! We will be returning in 2019 for our 7th visit and have already provisionally booked the room. The Hatton Group deals are really cost effective as flights, hotel and car can be included. To book each separately is always more expensive. Again, fantastic mini break over the Bank Holiday! Thank you (especially Kasia)!
