I had a bad experience! It seemed like a bad joke. It was very dirty, and the staff there weren't friendly. I felt very unsafe there. It was a terrible experience.

We booked a city view room and got a room in the back in the dark with no parking. The room was grimy and loud. The breakfast was stale and the breakfast room was cluttered and cold. Extremely disappointing all around.

The one person staff waws very nice and helpful. The rooms are very dated and in somewhat disrepair, poor heating, poor water pressure. The shower water temp regulates on its own and there is no slip pads in the shower, very slippery. The heating is not good. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was surprisingly good with fresh cakes, pastries and bread, waffles if you wanted. The hotel is 175 years old and is full of history and antiques.

I was disappointed whenever I saw the actual property. By the pictures, I knew that it would probably be not perfect and not a four star hotel. But I figured it would be quaint. And it was quaint, but the room was gross. It needed to be painted The bedspread stains. I found a stink bug on the ceiling. There was no heat in the bathroom. it was just kind of a crazy place. And I later found out after arrival and it was the type of place where people go and stay weeks at a time that probably cannot get into an apartment However, the breakfast was all homemade and great, but otherwise the property was very ran down. I honestly felt like I was being watched my cameras. No, it was not good so I hope management sees this and cleans up the place because it’s in a Prime area right on the highway right in the middle of town.

This motel property is one of the oldest buildings in Sonora. The building has a lot of history and character from the gold rush days, which is still seen in the breakfast dining room. Unfortunately the hotel operator isn't maintaining the quality of the property. The room doesn't look like they do a thorough job in cleaning it. I had to clean the bedstand myself with some tissue paper and hand sanitizer. I should have brought my own Lysol. As others have said, the floors can be dirty - bring your own shower slippers. The towels appear a little stained, but overall still acceptable to use. I brought my own towels too so I didn't need to use their face towel. The bathroom toilet appears clean with toilet paper, toiletries, and soap when I stayed. The toilet handle, though, is broken and duct taped -- this is unacceptable. Also the room is a bit cold staying in the winter time. That's fine because the historic doors have cracks and the top could open independently of the bottom. I didn't use the heater because it's too noisy. I would expect that hotel operator to clean the heater filter at least. I brought my own sleeping bag for warmth. Some have said there is an odor to the room. I brought my own HEPA air purifier to use so that wasn't an issue for me.

Customer service was excellent! Whatever we needed the staff made sure to do their best to get it and as quickly as possible. They were talkative and friendly with the people staying there, and I was impressed with their care. I would have liked to have access to coffee either in my room or at least too late at night. Other than that I was good. The day was wonderful and we would recommend it to anyone who asked.

Insects in the bed. The rooms were dirty. The GREAT breakfast was non-existent. It was supposed to start at 7:30 am and the door was locked. No breakfast. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could.

We cannot recommend this hotel. It looks cute and quaint from the outside, but the room was run down with paint peeling and dirty. TV had only a few stations. No one was at the front desk most times; we had to call a phone number for help, with some one eventually arriving after awhile. Comp breakfast was substandard, although the breakfast cakes were yummy. The pool was dirty. The whole place needs a major renovation.

The website for this property gets two things correct. The bed was comfortable and it’s an historic hotel. Nothing else is as advertised. The hotel itself is lovely though desperately in need of TLC. What a shame to see such a beautiful property with so much charm not being properly cared for. There are serious safety issues the worst being a large gap between the last step of the stairs to the third floor and the porch of that floor. There is no warning of this and one of my party suffered a fall resulting in injury. When we brought this to the managers attention, the response was so lacking in basic concern and attention to the issue we were shocked. There are numerous other safety issues including lack of emergency signage, and adequate fire extinguishers. There was no telephone in the unit, and staff was non existent, and the front desk not staffed., Our bathtub had no slip mat, or slip prevention at all causing me a near fall. The big, fresh-cooked breakfast buffet was not big, not fresh-cooked and in no sense a buffet. The “fresh” food offered was a small dish of lukewarm quiche. Everything else was an extremely subpar version of a continental breakfast lacking basics like napkins, tea service, toppings for the packaged oatmeal, fruit and any protein options aside from the quiche. When we brought our issues to the manager he simply made excuses and he made no effort to resolve the issues. He simply did not care. Be warned, this hotel not as advertised!!
