Old historic building that is kept up very nice. Very nice staff and very clean. Right in town where you can walk to all the local action. Thumbs up 👍

Friendly knowledgable and helpful staff, made a card snafu on my end seamless. Excellent commercial breakfast with good coffee. Housekeeping staff helpful and friendly.

We really enjoyed the charm, but there were several things that needed maintenance. The blow dryer in our room was broke, the bathroom was very cramped and the noise from the street in front of the hotel was so loud it was hard to sleep. There also was no maid service the whole time we stayed there.

Despite the negative reviews on YELP, we still took a chance on the Sonora Inn... and we're MORE that pleasantly surprised. It was like taking a step back into history. The new owners seem to have done a great job at restoring the rooms. Everything was clean - and worked! the beds were perfect; and the breakfast offered was top notch. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We hope to return again - and this time, stay longer.

Nice and convenient location. Comfortable and cozy rooms

We arrived and they had us in a queen size room when I specifically asked for king size bed because my bf is 6'5 ! The first night was very uncomfortable and also disappointing because of all the noise outside our room which was right next to the busy street (Room 248). Luckily the nice ladies in the front switched us the next night into a king size suite. Loved the big room and bed. Room was still a bit noisy because of the outside street. Walls are super thing and rooms overall need to be upgraded/updated. Its cool because the building is historic but some of the things like toilets and sinks and showers need to be replaced! We aren't big people, tall yes, but we could barely sit on the toilet without hitting our knees to the sink. All in all it was an okay and interesting experience. The breakfast in the am was nice and the staff was very helpful and lovely.

Very interesting old hotel undergoing renovation. The elevator didn't work during our stay, but the 85 year old unit is being completely redone. Lots of history in this building and great location.

Nice and cozy room. Old facility, though they tried to renovate it. Room is very small. You literally don;t have much room to walk around the bed.

We like the old world character of the Sanora Inn. It's right downtown & easy to walk to restaurants & the coffee shop close by.

The Sonora Inn is a quaint old hotel with lots of character. The room we were assigned was close to the smallest of them all but the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom extremely small but probably just right in it's hay day.

Close to everything enjoyed view of downtown beautiful drive to Yosmite

Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. I'd stay there again.

Stayed on a Friday night, hotel is cute and the best part is the location! Right in the heart of downtown!! The biggest con is the noise levels! On this particular Friday night, loud loud loud... You can hear everything and everyone in the hallway and everyone driving down the st! Fine for the price, clean and not creepy but very loud!

That is certainly the case at the "Historic Sonora Inn". While it certainly is not dilapidated and manages not to smell of mold or mildew there is plenty in this antiquated building that echoes "The Grand Budapest Hotel" or "Touch of Evil". But, hey, it's Sonora; and if you're looking for a little character and don't want another broken down motel this is the place. Family has easy walking access to the heart of the town. There is a small pool that actually has a 7ft section and is open til 10PM. And there is the added bonus that most of the guests are from Europe. Make some chit-chat at the (weak) complimentary breakfast.

Granted this is a 100 or so year old building but what a fiasco. The walls are paper thin so even a normal conversation can be overheard in the next room. The noise from the street precludes opening any windows which means you have to rely on the 1980's air conditioner for ventilation. Turing it on sounds like a Cessna taking off. The bathrooms are original and so small that the door had to be cut so it would not contact the toilet to close. Turn this place into a museum or something. It is a very historic building however after two sleepless nights I would never recommend it, especially given the prices.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the Sonora Inn is and our room was so cute! It is a very sweet, quaint place and has very reasonable room rates. I would definitely stay there again.
