We travelled to Sofia, Bulgaria in October 2017. We booked 2 double-standard rooms, via booking.com, as we were travelling with another couple. The price for each room, was 42 euros.(this was the price written in booking.com for the standard double room, and 42 euros was the final price written in our receipt when we made the reservation-).,It s important to note that, each couple travelled with 1 child (each) which was 8 years old.So, it was crystal clear in the receipt-4 adults and 2 kids in the age of 8 years old.-2 standard double rooms-overall price 42 euros. The policy of this hotel, based in what s written on the hotel s advertisement in booking.com is, the following;¨"Free! One child under 12 years stays free of charge when using existing beds". I want to point out again that , the age of our daughters was written in the reservation, and you will understand why i m still coming back to that again and again.. When we arrived, we wanted to settle our bill in order to rest because of our long trip (travelled from Greece, 5 hours on the road with 2 exhausted kids)..Then it all began.....The receptionist asked for extra 10 euros because of our kids staying, and insisted that the 52 euros he wanted to charge each couple for each room was because of the kids staying in the room.He also said that "obviously, his colleaque who made the reservation made a mistake and told him that the kids were 3 years old, not 8.He also said that the hotel should ensure an additional bed for each kid in each room, that "unfortunately wasn t possible at the moment, because the person who was in charge of this "facility" was not there. As anybody can see, there are 2 basic problems here. First of all, the receptionist gave us a completely different version of what s in effect for the children s accomodation in the hotel.Secondly, they charged extra beds without providing them because "unfortunately, the person in charge had finished his shift".We argued with him for a while telling him that they cannot charge any facility without providing it, and his answer was "that s the policy! When we informed the receptionist that we want to talk to his supervisor he said that "it s too late" (it was 10 o clock in the evening). Above all that, they arranged 2 rooms that were in different floors,(ours at 4rth, our friends at 3rd), despite the fact that we booked both rooms together. The whole place in the 4rth floor smelled like mould,,so was our room .The blanket of our bed was full of white stains (i don t even want to imagine what these stains were),the carpet seemed like it had not been cleaned for a long time.We were covered with our coats in order to keep ourselves warm at night, because the room was so filthy, that we didn t want to touch anything which was in it.(not to mention the blanket with the white stains, AGAIN). Finally, i want to note that we made an official statement to booking.com for all the above, but basically for the extra charge and theIR denial to provide the service.(additional bed). Basically, this hotel is lying about the policy regarding the children s accomodation, and they ask for extra money for services that shouldn t exist. We didn t ask for extra beds for the children, not until the time they said that we have to pay 10 more euros for the children, and they have to provide extra beds. That s a whole different policy from the one that is written in booking.com. My advice?stay away from this hotel. They lie, they cheat, they are not willing to help at anything.Where is the supervisor?who runs this shιtty hotel?Above the horrible service and their behaviour, the hotel is filthy, it smells and it gives the impression that it s fully abandoned.NEVER , NEVER AGAIN. Finally, i want to say that i "promised" the receptionist that i will write about their behaviour and i will make an official statement for the way they treat their guests. Well, my friend, if you re reading this, or if your supervisor is doing so,please make your future clients a favour and shut the place down. You do not know the least about how to run a hotel, how to provide the adequate services and to have the ,least of respect for your clients.
Was a group how we want to stay for one night traveling from grece , family with 5 litlle children they want to take 2 apartament.. how to split the children? for 6 hour... in the middle of the night with all the children we need to find another hotel... the personal was horror!!
We stayed in this hotel during out last night in Bulgaria. We picked it because it was only 15 minutes to Sofia International Airport. We were pleasantly surprised with the room which was roomy and comfortable for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids.) We liked the free parking, free wifi, and that breakfast was included. The check in process was quick and the lady checking us in was friendly and spoke English. She was also nice enough to let us print out our boarding pass so we could have it for our flight the next morning. I would recommend this place to anyone while in Sofia.
Very affordable hotel, good room size and very clean. The reception staff is excellent, very helpful, good English, they let me keep the luggage after check out time. The room is a bit noisy as it is on the main road. The bed very comfortable. Many TV channels but all synchronized in Bulgarian. Wi-fi is reasonable although it does drop and you need to change on every floor. Breakfast OK, hot food poor. Young girl first day was in a bad temper when I asked her where is the hot water, she showed it but with attitude and then she kept banging the crockery when clearing it. There is bus connection to town in front of the hotel.
In some parts of Sofia is difficult to find good hotels But this one is nice and dandy for Simeonovsko shosse part of the city. It is quite quiet and rooms are clean. It is more like normal 4star hotel.
We were on Vacation in Bulgaria and due to an Idiot in a Merc Van, we sustained damage to our Car. A friend suggested the Brod Hotel as it was just far enough from the City Centre and close to the Dealer repairing our Car. We ended up staying 40 nights (not by choice, but, awaiting parts). That said, the Staff of the Hotel could not have been more kind and helpful. Unfortunately during our stay the Hotel Restaurant was closed for renovation, so I cannot comment. This was reflected in Breakfast, which was basic Continental. The Room was 101, and was a Suite. Spacious and comfortable. Cleaned and changed every day. We were renewing our stay week to week as waiting for the parts for our Car, and the Manageress Plumina was very kind to review the price reflecting on our length of stay week on week. She seemed to take pity on us as the situation was not self inflicted. The Hotel is very much a "Business" Hotel, that said, its close to Studentskigrad which is a vibrant part of Sofia and offers many Bars, Restaurants and Clubs. The Hotel is close to the City Zoo and main Bus route into the City for 1 Lev. Taxi service in Sofia is very reasonably priced and very efficient, you can download very good APPs for O.K. Taxis and 9119 Taxis. 6-8leva will take you to town.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to have an extended stay in Sofia. As we knew Sofia well we stayed at the brod hotel as we were familiar with the area. This hotel is a hidden gem. The staff at the hotel were first class. They could not do enough for us and nothing was a bother. We stayed 40 nights and we were offered a great rate. The room was well appointed and exceeded our expectations. I have stayed at many hotels around the world but can honestly say this was a great experience. The hotel was slightly out of the city but a 10 minute taxi ride could take us into the city for approx 10 leva. Or for the lively students area was only a short walk away offering bar clubs and restaurants. If you wanted to visit vitosha mountains then this was only 10 minutes drive from the hotel.
Stayed here on way to and from another destination in Bulgaria.Clean hotel. Fine room. Bed OK. Staff friendly and helpful. Adequate breakfast. Value for money. Watch for a big building project next door. Did not disturb us but...
We stayed at this hotel when we were in Sofia for Easter. There was supposed to be breakfast included but because there were no other guests there wasn't breakfast and the restaurant was closed!? No housekeeping AT ALL for 4 days ?!?! The reason? It's Easter and they are on holidays?!?! SERIOUSLY? !?!!!! The bathtub was clogged and it was disgusting when we wanted to take a shower!!! Nobody ever came to throw the garbage or change the towels!!! The receptionist gave us a small nylon bag with cheese to eat for breakfast?! We have never heard of any hotel leaving the stuff go on holidays for days and the only employees working at the hotel were the receptionists!!! My suggestion is the hotel to simply close!!! Don't bother going there you will have the worst days spent in a hotel!!!
Nice and friendly receptionists, good breakfast. The hotel is far from the center, but it's not so hard to get there and back with the publiс transport. The standard room was ok, but red walls a bit weird. Also it smelled a lot like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Next time I would choose a place closer to the center.
