Was a group how we want to stay for one night traveling from grece , family with 5 litlle children they want to take 2 apartament.. how to split the children? for 6 hour... in the middle of the night with all the children we need to find another hotel... the personal was horror!!

We stayed in this hotel during out last night in Bulgaria. We picked it because it was only 15 minutes to Sofia International Airport. We were pleasantly surprised with the room which was roomy and comfortable for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids.) We liked the free parking, free wifi, and that breakfast was included. The check in process was quick and the lady checking us in was friendly and spoke English. She was also nice enough to let us print out our boarding pass so we could have it for our flight the next morning. I would recommend this place to anyone while in Sofia.

Very affordable hotel, good room size and very clean. The reception staff is excellent, very helpful, good English, they let me keep the luggage after check out time. The room is a bit noisy as it is on the main road. The bed very comfortable. Many TV channels but all synchronized in Bulgarian. Wi-fi is reasonable although it does drop and you need to change on every floor. Breakfast OK, hot food poor. Young girl first day was in a bad temper when I asked her where is the hot water, she showed it but with attitude and then she kept banging the crockery when clearing it. There is bus connection to town in front of the hotel.

In some parts of Sofia is difficult to find good hotels But this one is nice and dandy for Simeonovsko shosse part of the city. It is quite quiet and rooms are clean. It is more like normal 4star hotel.

We were on Vacation in Bulgaria and due to an Idiot in a Merc Van, we sustained damage to our Car. A friend suggested the Brod Hotel as it was just far enough from the City Centre and close to the Dealer repairing our Car. We ended up staying 40 nights (not by choice, but, awaiting parts). That said, the Staff of the Hotel could not have been more kind and helpful. Unfortunately during our stay the Hotel Restaurant was closed for renovation, so I cannot comment. This was reflected in Breakfast, which was basic Continental. The Room was 101, and was a Suite. Spacious and comfortable. Cleaned and changed every day. We were renewing our stay week to week as waiting for the parts for our Car, and the Manageress Plumina was very kind to review the price reflecting on our length of stay week on week. She seemed to take pity on us as the situation was not self inflicted. The Hotel is very much a "Business" Hotel, that said, its close to Studentskigrad which is a vibrant part of Sofia and offers many Bars, Restaurants and Clubs. The Hotel is close to the City Zoo and main Bus route into the City for 1 Lev. Taxi service in Sofia is very reasonably priced and very efficient, you can download very good APPs for O.K. Taxis and 9119 Taxis. 6-8leva will take you to town.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to have an extended stay in Sofia. As we knew Sofia well we stayed at the brod hotel as we were familiar with the area. This hotel is a hidden gem. The staff at the hotel were first class. They could not do enough for us and nothing was a bother. We stayed 40 nights and we were offered a great rate. The room was well appointed and exceeded our expectations. I have stayed at many hotels around the world but can honestly say this was a great experience. The hotel was slightly out of the city but a 10 minute taxi ride could take us into the city for approx 10 leva. Or for the lively students area was only a short walk away offering bar clubs and restaurants. If you wanted to visit vitosha mountains then this was only 10 minutes drive from the hotel.

Stayed here on way to and from another destination in Bulgaria.Clean hotel. Fine room. Bed OK. Staff friendly and helpful. Adequate breakfast. Value for money. Watch for a big building project next door. Did not disturb us but...

We stayed at this hotel when we were in Sofia for Easter. There was supposed to be breakfast included but because there were no other guests there wasn't breakfast and the restaurant was closed!? No housekeeping AT ALL for 4 days ?!?! The reason? It's Easter and they are on holidays?!?! SERIOUSLY? !?!!!! The bathtub was clogged and it was disgusting when we wanted to take a shower!!! Nobody ever came to throw the garbage or change the towels!!! The receptionist gave us a small nylon bag with cheese to eat for breakfast?! We have never heard of any hotel leaving the stuff go on holidays for days and the only employees working at the hotel were the receptionists!!! My suggestion is the hotel to simply close!!! Don't bother going there you will have the worst days spent in a hotel!!!

Nice and friendly receptionists, good breakfast. The hotel is far from the center, but it's not so hard to get there and back with the publiс transport. The standard room was ok, but red walls a bit weird. Also it smelled a lot like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Next time I would choose a place closer to the center.

We stayed at the Hotel Brod in late May for my partner's birthday. My first top tip is that if you choose to get a taxi from the airport to the hotel you should pay at most 12 LEV. This is around £3/4 depending on the time of day. Yes we were ripped off but you live and learn! We were at first rather concerned that the hotel was about 4 miles out of the centre of Sofia however, all transport is incredibly cheap (1 LEV on the bus or metro - 40 pence) and it really isn't difficult to get around. I guess we could have been closer hence I have only given location a rating of average. There are several buses that stop within the vicinity of the hotel and a metro line about 30 minutes walk away. The hotel ordered taxis for us each time we wanted to go into the centre. They were also readily available to get back. Make sure you have the name of the street and the hotel though as English is limited with some drivers. The hotel staff were really friendly and all spoke excellent English. They are more than happy to advise you on any queries you have, call taxis for you, advise where the best restaurants are, which sights are the best, where to catch a bus etc etc. Basically, I really could not fault them. The room itself was a decent enough size for the 2 of us. It wasn't exactly a 5 star luxury pad but it was clean enough. We did feel that the cleanliness could have been a little better but there was nothing to make us want to move rooms or indeed hotels. There was an air conditioning unit for the summer months which are VERY warm (take or buy sun cream) and equally blankets in the wardrobe for winter months that are clearly much cooler. There is a tv in the room but it does mostly have Bulgarian channels. Suffice to say we were not there to watch tv anyway and when we were in the room we used the free wi-fi to listen to the radio via our tablet. The wi-fi signal incidentally was absolutely fine. There is also a fully stocked mini-bar which was very reasonably priced. I always think that it is nice to have bottled water supplied in your room and this was the case here. Breakfast at Brod is a continental buffet style and was more than adequate to set you up for the day. Tea, coffee and juice are there for you to help yourself to throughout your meal. I have read some reviews that there was nowhere to eat and drink around the hotel. This is not the case. Just a 10 minute walk across the road opposite the hotel brings you to not only the Embassy area of Sofia but also to the student quarter. This area was buzzing with bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, a bowling alley, numerous bus stops and late night kebab shops for those of us who needed them (we are English after all). Sofia itself is wonderful and I would urge anyone to go. We ventured to the Museum of Socialist Art, which wasn't too far from Brod. If you have been to Budapest then this is similar to the Statue park there but on a smaller scale. There is very much an evident cafe culture in the centre and lots of green spaces to relax. Make sure you don't miss out on the remains of the Ampitheatre in the Hotel Arena and other Roman ruins discovered during the excavation of the metroline. All in all, we had a marvellous time and Hotel Brod was a great base.
