Clean modern room close to highway. After long day of travel, our kids loved having the water park to play in. Unfortunately the choice of dinner options is limited.
A really nice on-off from I-90 at a nice hotel. We got what we wanted for the price: a clean, comfortable stay that accepts pets (for a reasonable fee) with hot breakfast (why can't I specify in my search that I want a *hot* breakfast on these travel sites?). We wish we would have had swim suits 'cause the waterpark looked awesome! We plan on staying again in order to take advantage of it since it's such a solid, convenient hotel.
One night stop on cross country trip. Convenient location; clean and comfortable room; reasonably quiet, altho as another commented, walls seem to be too thin. Could hear hIgh schoolers partying; somewhat bothersome, but promptly shut down at 11pm. Too tired to care, beds comfy. Just what we wanted!
We checked in on Sunday night, it was busier than normal but [...]was handling very well by herself. Breakfast was great , real hot breakfast food. Bed was comfortable. Walls are thin though. If you want microwave & fridge for your room make sure to ask, not every room has them
We found this hotel to be comfortable and clean. The "mini-waterpark" was entertaining for the kids, though they charge you an extra $10 per person if you have more than 4 in your room. With three children, that meant $10 extra for us, which I think was totally unnecessary. The breakfast was a little disappointing. They advertise the best cinnamon rolls in the world, but they were totally out of them before 8:30, so our children were pretty sad.
We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express for one night on our way home from a vacation to the Black Hills/Badlands, South Dakota. Our check-in was speedy and efficient, and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We went to dinner, then came back to our room. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and nice amenities. Unfortunately for us, there was a horribly inconsiderate corporate group which had invaded the hotel (the only real way to describe it!) and had six rooms just down the hall from us. Their behavior was awful- yelling, running down the hall, screaming, slamming doors, standing in front of our door having loud conversations, etc. We called the front desk and they promised to talk to them about their behavior, then called us back a few minutes later to move us to a new room (upgraded us to a suite!) at the other end of the hall. The staff was excellent, but the trouble continued, which I don't really blame the staff for- there's only so much they can do. We got very little sleep that night, and couldn't get our two year old to sleep until after 10:30 PM. It was a long night for us with little rest. My greatest regret was that we didn't even get a chance to take our son to the waterpark. We didn't dare, because that corporate group had taken it over and were behaving just as poorly there. The waterpark was the main selling point when I booked, and this was a big disappointment to us. Again, the staff did try to get these inconsiderate people to quiet down, and did move us to a quieter room (that was a suite), but there was only so much they could do. The doors continued to slam into the morning, along with the yelling and running.
My children loved the pool. The hotel was extremely quiet, even on a Saturday night, and the breakfast buffet was awesome.
The front desk staff on Mon night was great. The staff person on Tues morning almost had me not wanting to ever stay at this hotel again. She was impolite and put-out to wait upon me. The only reason she has a job a this hotel is because people like me stay at this hotel.
