Staybridge Suites Sunnyvale3.0 out of 5.0

We recently stayed at this hotel on a family vacation in Northern California. We have a large family -4 kids- so we either have to have a suite or book two rooms. This was perfect for us because unlike an embassy suites type situation where you have two smallish rooms and one bathroom we had much more room to spread out. Our suite had two bedrooms each with a queen bed and tv as well as a fairly large living area with pull out couch and TV and full kitchen. One with shower one with tub/shower combo. There are two large closets With the triple AAA rate we paid what we would pay for a single room in a nice hotel. Plus I used ebates so I will get a small percentage back as well. The room appeared to be recently updated with a contemporary look and very nice finishes. It was spotlessly clean as well. There was a note stating on weekends the room would only be cleaned on request but they cleaned our room every day even on the weekend. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots pans utensils coffee maker toaster etc. and they even have a grocery option where you can give them a list of groceries and they will shop and deliver to your room. We did not use that service when we were there. The beds were comfortable. There is a vcr in the family room and u can rent or borrow videos from hotel. Parking is free and ample. The room came with breakfast every morning. Scrambled and hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, pastries, waffles, fruit, yogurt, potatoes, and even samosas on weekdays. The location of hotel is excellent Very close to the 101 and easy to get to local attractions and businesses. It is minutes from San Jose and mountainview and Cupertino. 35-40 minutes from SFO. But 5-10 minutes from San Jose airport There were a few things we were not as happy about. We were in room 1713, an outer room. The hotel is close to highway which is convenient but road noise at night made it difficult to sleep sometimes. The walls were also quite thin. I could hear our neighbors walking above us or using the bathroom. The breakfast room is fairly small so it was hard to get a table especially all together during peak breakfast times. Was not as much of an issue earlier or later in the morning. We found this small breakfast room issue at another staybridge we stayed at in Atlanta. Another small issue is they have a charging station on only one nightstand in each bedroom. Might have been nice to have one on each nightstand in the bedroom so each person could have their phone nearby. Overall we would definitely stay here again.
We fell in love with this property--free morning breakfast 7 days a week, free light/heavy snack during cocktail hours M-W, great amenities in the rooms, ample parking and friendly staff. The only recommendation I would have is to clean the pool more often or create an indoor pool so guests can enjoy it all year round. We highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!
Love this place. Got upgraded to 2 x 1-bedroom suite for 5A 1C. Clean, breakfast was nice. Service was good, even after we check out. Recommended! They have a small kitchen but we only stay for a night.
I have stayed here in Jan 2017 for 5 nights. Overall experience was great. Room was clean, Good Internet, friendly staff. I had an issue in the room where water leaked, and i had to change the room. The change was relatively smooth. Breakfast was good (standard for Staybridge), but i would highly suggest adding some varieties. The cost per night was relatively high ($220+).
I stayed here for three months. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Even when the hotel is booked, you find a parking spot. And you can decide when your room is made and when not. The hotel has social night Monday through Wednesday where you can meet other hotel guests and have dinner with them. The hotel is located close to the highway 101 so you will be out and about in no time.
I have stayed in this hotel many times and wrote several reviews on it already, but I still want to write another one, because this is a true gem in the so busy and crowded Silicon Valley area. To start with, this hotel has everything you'll need. The rooms are actually apartments with a full kitchen, living room, separate bedroom and a bathroom with a tub and shower. It is perfect for those who want to relax and feel at home after a busy day. The rooms are also clean and in case something doesn't function well, one call to the reception and they'll make sure it is fixed as soon as possible. What I also like is that you'll get a full breakfast, there are complimentary washing machines and driers, a very high speed Wi-Fi connection is included in the room rate, and the room is cleaned every day. Plus a simple, but nice, social dinner with free drinks three days in the week. This is already really neat, but what makes the difference is the staff. Whether it is the reception, house keeping, the kitchen staff, maintenance, administration or management, they're all genuinely friendly. These are not fake smiles practiced during trainings, these are real smiles and they truly want to help. So is there nothing left to wish for? Yes, there is. Being a heavy coffee drinker, I think the coffee machines are too slow and what drips out of it is best described as brown and warm. I wouldn't call it coffee and I really miss the good old coffee pot they've had for years. Probably having both during peak hours is a good solution, but please give us a machine with stronger coffee coming out. I also hope to not offend the smokers, but the great seating area in the patio has been designated as a smoking area and that really spoils it for me. I love sitting there, but when a smoker arrives, I'll leave. Having said that, I'll definitely continue to return here and already look forward to my next stay!
I've stayed here a few times. The suites are all well appointed and large. The staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast offers more than just the bare minimum, and they always have fruits and coffee near the reception. They also have many facilities for the residents (pool, basketball court, barbeques etc.) but this also means it can get noisy here sometimes. I did have a problem with the internet the last time I stayed here which took 2 days to fix. That was unacceptable, but I'm hoping that was an aberration.
Hotels in the Sunnyvale area can be very expensive, especially if there is a game or conference on in the area. The Staybridge is a quiet hotel. You get a lot of long-term guests there and as such it’s more like an apartment complex than a hotel. Each room has a living room, kitchen, large bedroom, bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Everything was clean and nicely laid out. A TV in both the living room and the bedroom with about 50 channels. The kitchen has everything you would expect including a fridge which looks like it dates from the 80’s, but allegedly is new! The bed is excellent with a choice of pillows and covers as it can get a little cold at night during the winter and the aircon can be noisy at night. All windows are double glazed so no noise from outside gets in. Not that there is much. The whole complex is very quiet. The complex for want of a better word is divided in to blocks which have six apartments over three floors. If you have a heavy case, ask reception for a ground floor apartment as the stairs can be a pain. Parking is nice and easy outside most blocks. Breakfast is served near reception and is ok as opposed to great. There is a selection of items to choose from, but equally there are a few breakfast restaurants nearby. They don’t server evening meals. Three nights a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) they have a mixer of sorts where they have free food and drink (Belgium beer, which is really nice) and you can get to know other guests or just get some food and drink and take it back to your room. Its free and Wednesdays is grill night. So, you can build the largest burger you want and no one will judge you. Overall a nice place to stay whilst on work. But bear in mind that you will did a car to get around as there isn’t they much nearby in the evenings.
Good suite Comfortable bed and couches Good kitchen with all facilities Great quality towels and napkins Good hot breakfast Good internet speed Friendly staff Enough parking space Close Denny's less than a mile and little far iHop
This is the second time we have stayed here with our family and dog on vacation. The 2bd 2ba setup is so nice for a family of 4. There is a pullout couch for an additional 2 more but did not look very comfortable. The kitchen is convenient to enjoy take out meals on the go. The free breakfast buffet is nice for a quick bite before a day of sightseeing. Conveniently located to San Jose or San Francisco, easy parking, pool, jacuzzi and BBQ. Only disappointment was there is no cleaning on weekends but that was ok as long are supplies were stocked.
