This was our first visit to mainland China. I'd booked this hotel as it was very near to one of the main Metro Rail lines. We stayed at this hotel from (likely) from 27th June, 2017 to 29th June, 2017. Main issue was that of the language barrier. Almost no-one spoke any meaningful English. I'd to resort to "Navigator" App downloaded maps to guide us to our advanced booked hotel. We were traveling from Guangzhou airport bus to Shenzhen. According to bus route, the Guangzhou - Shenzhen bus was to have its last destination at Shenzhen Railway station terminal. However, the bus driver let us off almost 20 km before the hotel we had booked(as found from the "Navigator" map). We had diffculty in making taxi drivers understand as to our destination hotel. After making several map based sign language exchanges between myself and the "Electric" taxi drivers, one finally agreed to take us to "New Times Hotel" (booked by us online) We reached the hotel and the concierge staff informed us in very little English that we had booking. The rooms were great. I guess we were placed on the 16th / 17th floor. As we had difficulty in making them understand that we needed lunch now, we immediately decided to go to nearest McDonalds (the map showed that it would be 1km away) We stayed three days(nights), except the language barrier, the services of the hotel were very good.
Do not be surprised or dumbfounded when viewing the food delivery boys passing by in the lobby or elevator corridor without being checked by hotel security first. Breakfast is not included in this hotel as well as meal if you need for dinner or just snacks because they don't have restaurant or mini market. I had to order it from outside or ask the receptionist to order. Location of the hotel is very strategic which surrounded by supermarkets, restaurants and business buildings. Room was clean, not smelly and spacious and psst........there is 'rubber' in the bath room.
the hotel is a basic business hotel. nice clean rooms with english speaking staff at the reception. very helpful front desk specially cecilia at the reception very polite and helpful, helped me with the address of indian restaurant. the building has a yoga center where one can take yoga class, very nice. the building has a restaurant and a spa too but i did not try them. the whole area around the hotel makes you feel nice in the evening sometimes people dance on the roadside and whole atmosphere feels amazing
I stayed here 2 different nights in October. Both rooms are very good in size, and comfortable. However, both rooms showed signs of age and lack of proper maintenace. There were water damages showed on the walls. Molds were on the edge of showers and sinks. A proper cleaning and maintance would go a long way for this hotel.
Well, I stayed in this hotel couple of weeks back and before booking with Ctrip they told us amazing hotel etc.....thinking Ctrip would always take care of clients if any problems...well we're wronged. The room they gave us was stinking and toilet was leaking ..we complained and the staff came to fix it...after one hour it was lacking again ...and they sent a guy again to fix it....guess at it was leaking again after few hours ....and this time the whole floor was soiled ..(we have the pictures and videos ) ....whole night it was leaking and we couldn't sleep....kept calling the staff and no result.....they said when you come next time we will upgrade you with business class room. Spoke to the staff and she said most of the toilets leak as the pipes are old and rusty .... Spoke to the boss's and he says this is what you get if you book through CTRIP. Guess what we spoke to Ctrip and asked to refund at least half the monies ....they say we can give you 100ctripmpoints .....hmm Well we are going to upload images and videos on YouTube for everyone to see. Guys we never do this but the boss of this hotel had the audacity to tell us go ahead and upload the videos ....he doesn't care .somhere we go....just uploading two pics ...of he many pics and videos we have ....actually there were three different plumbers at three different times trying to fix the pipes.
This hotel is located on the corner of Jiabin and Heping. A few blocks away from the Hong Kong/Shenzhen border crossing and the MixC, as well as other shopping venues and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful, and a few of their front desk staff even spoke some English. The room was clean, spacious and surprisingly nice. I thought it was funny that the TV was older however, I never turned it on, so that wasn't an issue for me. The bed is very firm which I appreciate so keep that in mind if looking to book a room here. No frills hotel. A nice clean room, close to everything and in my opinion, pretty affordable.
The hotel is well situated, close to shopping and for Jewish travelers to Chabad. Unlike most Chinese hotels it always has someone on hand that speaks English. it can very frustrating not to have someone who can help you with your problems. There are 19 floors each with approximately 20 rooms. The rooms, bathrooms, elevators and general hallways are modern and recently decorated. The entrance is not impressive or up the standard of the rest of the hotel which definitely rates 5 stars for the rooms and general service. I reserved a standard room and the air conditioning was not working, so they upgraded me to a deluxe room, which should really rate as a suite. Altogether a much better experience than other 4 - 5 star hotels in Shenzeng, and great value for money..
this hotel is my go to hotel when i am in hong kong for business, close enough to the luohu border and within walking distance. centrally located near shops, metro and malls. hotel staff are very courteous and they recognize me each time i visited, learn to know the floor manager and you will be well taken care of. once it was raining, i called the hotel and they send a car out to pick me up at the luohu border. now who does that? rooms are very clean and large even by china's standards. staff are very responsive to your needs, price is very reasonable comparing to others around the area. i stayed at this hotel 2-3 times each year and i highly recommend it! but get to know the staff and floor manager, they will take care of you.
Stayed at the New Times Hotel during a recent trip to the Shenzhen area with a group of colleagues. Checkin was a bit painful. They lost the reservation for one member of our party and refused to honor non-smoking rooms requests until we complained to the manager. The room was clean and decently furnished. The bed was a bit firm for my taste, but I still got a decent night's sleep. Breakfast buffet was just OK, and but I can't really complain too much since it was relatively cheap when compared to the buffet at other area hotels. Internet service was wired only, no WiFi and provided decent bandwidth. All in all, I would consider this hotel to be a decent and acceptable choice, but not the best in this price range for the Shenzhen area.
This hotel is really average in every way. Unless you have business in the Luohu area I would not recommend it and I would only recommend it for business travelers on a budget. There are a couple of really nice hotels in that same area. The style is distinctive Chinese which can be good or bad depending on your taste. None of the staff spoke English apart from the reception. Service was again.... average.
