Location of the hotel is not too bad and you can get tasty local food behind the hotel. The accommodation is good, clean and the room is reasonably huge. The attentiveness of the staffs at the lobby lounge and the breakfast area and be better. I have to ask for coffee during my breakfast.
stayed for three nights. the bed was firm and had the best sleep here. hotel is eco conscious. reminding us by little notes in the room to conserve electricity and water. breakfast was good and had many choices. will definitely come back. thank you.
We arrived around noon and was told that there was some waiting time before for the room (travelling alone with two small children) would be available, not what you want to hear but it was expected. However, after only 15min the room was ready. Unfortunately it was smelling of smoke but we got another right away. Many are writing that the hotel is worn and needs renovation. That’s true about the pool area but the rest is perfectly fine. One of the major reasons to chose this hotel was the indoor pool, but this was a major disappointment, both the room and the water was freezing cold and not suitable for the children. Otherwise we haven’t got any complaints, on the contrary, all the staff tried their best to make our stay perfect. The coffee shop staff should be recommended for their efforts to help a single dad with two small boys being able to eat in peace and not having to worry too much about the children. Thank you
I stayed at this hotel for one night only (28-29 October 2017) as I needed to attend a work event at the Grand Mercure. I booked a Superior double room. The room (2009) met my expectation. It was very specious and modern with a fantastic view of the city. There were very good amenities in the bathroom too. The buffet breakfast offers a variety of Western and Asian options. Buffet lunch and dinner also looked great but it was quite pricey. I also enjoyed the gym, it is very a complete gym for a hotel standards. There is a Garden Bar just outside at the entrance of the hotel, which is quite hidden between the trees and plants. They offer all you can eat (meat/salads), plus a couple of drinks at a very reasonable price. You choose your own meat and the chef cook it for you. It is a good place to have a few drinks too. It has a great atmosphere to relax and unwind.
The hotel has a grand first impression. Unfortunately they do not meet it in all respects. Food in the buffet restaurant was quite lackluster, especially at dinner, but also at breakfast some of the food seemed stale and did not look like some items were kept vold properly (like butter and cheeses). Room was ok, but I firstly got a room that reeked of tobacco. Fortunately they were able to change my room and the replacement did not smell. The tub was ridicilously small, and I'm tiny myself! One of the great things was that the hotel had VPN or some other system to bypass the "chinese wall" that blocks most social media etc.. my snapchat etc worked fine in the hotel wifi, which I did not experience anywhere else. Nice bonus for international guests.
The hotel is located right beside the subway station and about a 5-10min walk from a large mall. The surrounding area offers a KFC and local restaurants, but you can walk to the mall if you're looking for non-local/restaurant type food. Only complaint is that the elevator is a bit slow. Otherwise, the room is clean, WiFi is decent.
Things were all in order, except the Checkout process took quite long. It would be great if it allows checkout upon key drop like other hotels. Overall, it was a great stay with great services and strategic location.
We've stayed here several times and we enjoy the big rooms and its close proximity to the metro. There's a mall close by too near the Langham Hotel. The laundromat we used behind the hotel has gone a tad more expensive we noticed. Only problem we had with our room was the air conditioning unit. It wasn't cold enough. We did call maintenance and they did come up and adjusted things but it really didn't do anything to cool things down. The hallway and lobby area was much cooler than our room. Other than that it was as expected a great stay!
Hotel located right on the exit from highway from airport and right in front of MRT station. Plenty local eatery nearby. Comfortable bed and good view to the sea. Breakfast was good. 20 min walk to the park near the beach or 5 min walk to the flower park. Suggestion for improvement - a full curtain needed as sunlight is shining in from the sides. Lift to the premier lounge took ages to stop at 21st floor.
I guess you always need to take into consideration that China is not the rest of the world. However, people ARE smoking in the hotel, which means, even though you don't have a non smoking room, you do smell it when someone smokes somewhere. Probably not an 'accor' responsibility. Mattrass was hard (not kidding). Room itself was okay and you can open the window, which is nice.
