Very helpful staff, especially Mina Li. The horizon bar has amazing views overlooking the city and the pastal de natas are better than in Portugal! Great hot dumplings from the chefs. The hotel itself is beautiful
If you have the opportunity, stay in the rooms of the Horizon Club, which would entitle you to the use and advantages of the same as breakfast in their exclusive restaurant surrounded on the 37th floor with spectacular views, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. Likewise, if you go for business, you can hold your meetings in the areas you have there and your clients will be enchanted since the attention of all the personnel of the Horizon Club is highly professional and they are extremely kindly
The hotel is very well located, very close to a few shopping malls with more than enough restaurants & shops. Subway is just 6-7 mins away by walking. However, the overall customer experience is certainly not up to the “Shangri-la” standard that I previously experienced with many other hotels under the same group (Bangkok, Taipei, Sabah etc). 1. Check-in: There is no signage to show people where & how to line up. It was really a little messy as guests just queued up freely in different ways. There was a lady at the front desk who tried her best effort to guide the guests but didn’t work out well. 2. Buffet Breakfast: My wife & I were away from the assigned table for getting some more food. We did properly put all cutlery aside and there were unfinished coffees, fresh orange juices on the table but someone cleaned everything up while we were away for just a few mins. This never ever happened in the past with hundred times of buffet breakfasts with any hotels. 3. We booked directly thru the website of Shangri-la and picked the “Weekend Hideaway Package”, which provides some benefits including “Guaranteed late check-out till 3pm”. On the day of checking out by around 2:45pm, we were about to finish packing up and there was a lady kept knocking our door even we already set “Do not disturb”. We opened the door, this lady from the housekeeping requested to inspect our room as she said we were supposed to check out the a lot more earlier. 4. Check-out: We brought up the issue above and the staff said the computer system didn’t show any details about the package selected and the check-out time was supposed to be 12:00pm. We explained about the “Weekend Hideaway Package” that we booked but seemed he had no idea about it and showed no interest to listen. The staff just asked us to state the desired check-out time next time when we check-in.
Futian Shangri-La Shenzhen is located near subway station. It is very convenient to take subway to other places. The malls nearby are also very nice. Many shops and restaurants could easily found. It was a birthday trip for me and my friend. Thank you for the birthday arrangement by Michelle and Jennifer from Guest Relations. We had a nice and comfortable stay here.
This is a nice hotel with a great staff. I would guess all bad reviews start with people that book the lowest price room and try to get an upgrade for some reason. Stayed in a Horizon Club room and service was outstanding. Thursday was my birthday and the staff called and asked if they could bring a cake and bottle of wine to my room. Pat and Jenny delivered everything so a great birthday on the road. Lynn in the Horizon Club was great as well. Could not have been better so thanks to the entire team.
Usually I love staying at Shangri-la. Always try to stay at them in second and third tier cities. Maybe because Shenzhen is first tier not as good? Got a horizon room but maid service was lacking. Once didn't make the bed, another time left the turndown report in my room. Called the front desk to explain they need this back but not in their conversational English vocabulary (and not in my Chinese vocabulary to be honest). Also think I got food poisoning at the hotel. Either buffet at dinner or the lounge happy hour. Otherwise, hotel is great. City center with lots of restaurants nearby. Great gym as always. Beautiful rooms and public space.
As always, the service at this hotel when you arrive is always very good. A nice girl named Jenny accompanied me to check in in my room. Hot tea is served. Fruit as well. As soon as I mentioned I got a sour throat, Jenny ordered lemon coke for me. Nice!
Last year i traveled to shenzhen by alone. I stayed in the hotel called Shangrila. When i arrived Micheal He introduced me that hotel and surroundings, helped me check in. Also he suggested excellent restaurants and parks, helped me so much. Thank you for made my solo travel perfect. Micheal he is the best
We were here for leisure and set out our thoughts below. Room: the room was big, functional , And heaps of places for suitcases, clothes, and other items. Sleep: the bed was big and very comfortable, and most importantly the pillows did not smell. The bedroom was far enough from the front door so as to not hear any external or ambient noises. If you are a light sleeper, these rooms are for you. Eat: we had room service and the food was amazing. Very reasonably priced and a lot of vegetarian options available. Very good breakfast buffet. Shout out to Tracy Li at breakfast who really looked after me because of my vegetarian diet and made sure nothing was lost in translation. The only development area is that other staff may not pay that much attention, so a lot of utensils were not taken away even when staff saw that clearly it was ready to be taken away. Exercise: the gym and spa facilities were excellent. Lots of different equipment and there is a hot and cold plunge pool, and a dry and wet sauna. There is also an indoor swimming pool which is big enough to do laps. Surprise: Shout out also to Kristal and Michelle who came to our room and sang happy birthday to me, followed by a birthday cake and wine! Thank you so much - it made my stay that extra special. Location: very good, very central to two different train lines and within walking distance of several eateries and shopping malls.
Stayed in Shenzhen for a few days on business. This is my 3rd time at this hotel over the past 3-4 years. Hotel is located in Futian district, adjacent to an office complex and across the street from a mall. Hotel has an impressive lobby and check in was a breeze with good English speaking staff. Here is what I liked: 1) Large oversized rooms 2) Solid hotel services for business travlers 3) Excellent buffet styled restaurant for breakfast 4) Chinese restaurant for dinner was marvelous But keep this in mind: 1) It can get hot and humid in Shenzhen and the A/C at this hotel isn't great. It cools but rooms feel damp and moist. 2) The rooms while comfortable feel dated (furnishings, counters, bathroom fixtures, etc), Probably needs a renovation in the rooms 3) Area is quiet at night - not too much street life or activity. Overall solid hotel but nothing special.
