The service provided by the front desk was abysmal. Check-in and Checkout procedure is very cumbersome.Very rude and very unwilling to assist even if you can speak their language. The rooms are fine with all basic amenities available, but somehow end up giving a spartan look. Breakfast quality below average and disorganized buffet. The only plus side is the hotel are located near some good cheap shopping places like Lo Wu mall and MTR stations. Generally this hotel offer average service and experience

We stayed for just one night at Shenzhen in the end of December 2018 and were booked in this hotel as part of our tour. After a hectic day doing the touristy thing around Shenzhen in bitterly cold weather, we were finally taken to the hotel late evening totally exhausted and cold. The front desk staff were quite courteous and spoke some English. The first disappointment came when we were allotted our room and there were no bell boys available to take our luggage to our room. We has to physically drag our own heavy suitcases through a lobby to the lifts and then onward, down a long corridor to finally our room. Really strange, considering that this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel! This left a bad taste in our mouths, more so, since we were very tired. But there was more in store for us. The room was a small one, having the basic furniture and stuff and very dimly lit. The light was however sufficient to see a few creepy insects crawling around near the beds. Sadly, the housekeeping staff don’t understand a word of English. When we requested a few bottles of water, the lady bought the bottles but insisted on receiving money up front (usually, it’s just added to the bill) and exact change, which we didn’t have. The following conversation was quite amusing, with sign language being the mode of conversation, with dismal results. Finally out of frustration, we told her to keep the balance as a tip and waved her away (to our pleasant surprise, the lady came back after a while, with the balance money. Kudos to her honesty). The hotel staff need to be conversant with at least the rudiments of English, to be able to give good service. Breakfast which was complimentary was the only meal we had in the hotel. It was served in the basement and for veg eaters, let me warn you that you have to be ready for bread jam and fruit, because there was really nothing else. There is a Indian restaurant in the hotel which apparently serves Indian meals, but opens after 10 am. Thankfully for us, there is a good veg joint just around the corner and so starvation was averted. The Location of the Hotel is quite convenient...very close to the Luohu Shopping Centre. Overall, the experience wasn’t such a great one.

We were on tour of Hong Kong Macau and Shenzhen for 12 days with a very large group of 28 couples all doctors. Our first stay was at century plaza. The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was fairly good. I didn’t get time to try out the gym or the spa. Our room was on 5th floor with the view of the highway in the distance. A comfortable stay.

Best Hotel and Indian restaurant for Indian specially those who are vegetarian. Very close to Hong Kong border, in the city, great rates for the amenities and quality of hotel. The only problem I faced was that the hotel name is different as per Chinese. No one could find Century Plaza Hotel in China. It's actual name is Xindu. It created big confusion and difficult to make others understand the location.

Horrible experience. Kept looking at her watch. Only covered portions of my body. Then after giving her $40k in a tip (didnt desrve that) she said its not enough. I told her she should earn it and not do a horrible job. Gave her another 10k and left. Total cost $410k. She was easy on the eyes thats about the only that was ok. Very disappointed.

Hotel is clean, price is reasonable, bathroom comes with a bathtub thou they don't provide toilet with water hose. 3-pin electrical outlets are available which is a pleasant surprise. The experience turned horrible when we went for a foot massage at their Spa. We were forced to pay for extra services which we did not order, some of the masseurs are inexperienced and masseurs demanded amount of tips that they don't deserve. Expect to spend double the price that they're quoting on price list. Else avoid spa at all cost.

Check in Sept 22 for 10 days. Just like a previous reviewer I was a little bit apprehensive because of some the negative comments about this hotel. Particularly because I was arriving at 2:00 in the morning. But when I checked in everything went smoothly. Gave them my passport and credit card, they found my prepaid booking no problem and then charged my credit card 500 yuan for a deposit. This is standard practice and just the same as all my other international trips. When I got to my room there was a small placard with the login information for the wifi, so that was easy. The room was nice and very clean. The housekeeping staff was friendly and always said hello or ni hao. When I went in or out of the hotel the concierge always had a smile and a greeting. Also, the lady that checked me in for the breakfast every morning always had a smile. The breakfast was good but not great. They don't have a huge variety of food but I got a good omelet every morning, some tasty dragon fruit and other food that a westerner such as myself would like. The location is great. There are many small shops and restaurants nearby. One entrance to the metro is just around the corner if you want the #9 line or if you want the #1 line just a couple of blocks. Overall, I was very happy to stay at this hotel. Some of the staff maybe a little indifferent but others very nice. Especially the concierge who arranged my transfer back to the airport at the end of my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel

We stayed here for two nights and had a pretty nice yet uneventful stay. Everything works as it should or expected and the hotel serve its purpose for us. No fuss. No frills. Room was spacious for 2 adults and 1 child. Room temp was actually cold (but can be adjusted) which we welcome as it was still quite hot outside. Our room had a comfortable bed with good sound proofing and black out curtains. Bathroom was clean, good size with strong shower pressure and properly stacked - no issues. Strong free Wi-Fi signal all over the hotel esp. our room. The breakfast included in our stay was surprisingly not bad at all. There's a variety of Chinese breakfast combined with continental breakfast. I have my favorites here which was the kelp salad, the steamed red bean bun and of course, their fresh hot soy milk. The staff vs. service were a hit and miss. Some were friendly and accommodating; some were just there - one of the head counts in case you need them, I guess. For the most part, they seem to understand and speak English albeit a little. We are a pretty independent traveler so we don't need much hence staffing and service was not focused on nor was it an issue. Hotel is situated about 10mins walk from the train station. There's also lots of eateries, massage parlor and shops just a walk away. It was raining when we went so that put a drag on our walking plans but the hotel provided us umbrella which was a nice touch. Overall, though our stay was nothing out of ordinary... I guess, I'll say that this hotel was a little above average. Won't mind staying here again on our next visit. NOTE: We didn't know this hotel had a pool - just saw photos on here. We would have dip in the pool had we known.

This was a suprisingly good hotel with friendly staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff. Room was very clean and beds were ok for western expectations. Breakfast was fine, selection seemed good for chinese dishes and there was enough to find for my english tastes. Bonus of this hotel is that it directly in the centre of Luohu within walking distance of the HK border. And it is has an outdoor swimming pool which when on a hot day was absolutley fantastic. Overall my family had an excellent stay. The hotel is good value and one could probably pay alot more for western brand hotels for the same quality level.

Check in 27 Jul and out 31 Jul. Frankly I was apprehensive after I booked because of general negative comments that this is old hotel. I chose this hotel as it was nearest to my wedding dinner venue. This is a typical Chinese hotel and awarded 4 stars in China's standard (in international, should be around 3). It is indeed old ! But surprisingly, not too bad!!! We booked 3 Deluxe Rooms and size and amenities were adequate. Toiletries were local brand and if you are not comfortable, you might want to bring own. Room slippers were comfortable and quality was surprisingly good. 2 small bottles of mineral water were provided but not enough. No fret, vending machine at Ground floor allows you to buy at only RMB3 (do try the coconut drink... it's good and different taste from Thailand version). Check in speed was generally ok (I booked via Hotels.com and was worried that they couldn't find. Paranoid!) I spoke Mandarin and no issue in communication throughout my stay (I saw many foreigners - Indians, Indonesians, Philippines people in this hotel). Housekeeping services were prompt and friendly. Very good. Chinese restaurant inside the hotel serves very good dim sum (must try!) Small gift shop behind the door sells tourist items and sellers are friendly. The hair salon (opp) is good and worth to try (I went twice and please look for lady no. 18, she's attentive and her head massage skill is good!) Location is superb. Convenient for all kinds of shopping (especially walking distance to Luohu commercial city). Floor 19 and 21 are non smoking floors but well, being China, you'll still whiff tobacco smell. Overall, my group of 6 members enjoyed our stay in this hotel. No complains. No regrets.
