Nice hotel in a fantastic location. The Cathedral is literally around the corner and very handy to walk to the historic sites of Rouen. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was very helpful.

Hotel is modern, clean and in the lovely old town area. The staff are helpful and breakfast was extensive and really good. However it took us two hours to find it and the satnav failed to locate it. Badly signposted. One small sign easily missed. Had to ask 3 people where it is. Underground car park very tight. Staff said many complain of difficulty finding hotel.

My family and I stayed here for several days during my wedding week. It is the perfect location and very centrally located, right next to the Cathedral. The rooms are a bit small, but that is typical for Europe. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! We looked forward to it every day. The only downside was that the towels were very thin and not many were offered, and the shower drenched our room. Other than that, it was a great stay.

This is a very well located hoted hotel with high quality inyerior design, nice breakfast, clean and tidy. Comfortable beds. Very helpful and friend lady in the reception is Kadiata who gave us very good advice... thank you!

The hotel has been remodelled since my previous visits, hence another review. The new reception desk is staffed by most hepful and courteous people. They were w quite willing to come up to,the room with a window key and provide other services. The locked window is my only criticism of the room. Although in mimimalist style,it had all required fittings( including toilet brush) and was spotless. The new bed was excellent . Although it had a shower rather than bath, the bathroom was otherwise faultless, with a proper basin. The aircon/ heating worked well,as did the wifi. Braekfast was comprehensive in a pleasant room. The same space provides an eacelkent range of snacks and bar service until 2200. Full marks!

Our room 326 had a number of shortfalls, the room was freezing when we checked at 14.30 and the hotel heating failed to bring it up to a reasonable temperature by 18.00, the room also had a very smelly shower drain. After raising the heating and drain issue with reception, the maintenance man fixed the drain, and attempted to fix the heating. After some time, with the room not getting any warmer we were offered another room, this was even colder and the additional installed electrical heater, did not work (bare wire hanging out the back). After being offered an alternative hotel, we were eventually furnished with a portable electric heater for our original room, which appeared to fix the problem. As were had been delayed getting a shower by the cold room, we plumped for the hotel restaurant (if you can call it that!). After 10 mins waiting, we asked the waiter about dinner, to be adviser that is was self service, and the hot plate of the day had run out (20.00), and all that remained where serveral ready meals (1 each of a choice of 4), which we needed to heat ourselves in the microwave! Not what you would expect from a country that prides itself on ‘haut cuisine’!

I stayed in this hotel 3 days and everything was just fine. The breakfast was nice having all the basics. The position of the hotel is ideal for tourism, shopping and business. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice detail: a variety of table sizes in the breakfast and waiting room area was available for singles, couples, families and big companies of friends. The personnel was very helping at all times. The TV was out of order but I had no time to report it to the reception. I wish there was a hair dryer in the bathroom.

We were travelling as a middle aged couple, and this is the third visit to the Mercure in central Rouen. As indicated I have stayed here several times before, but this is the first time I have felt unwelcome. I'm an Accor Gold card holder, and have use Accor brand hotels extensively thus know what to expect. Upon arrival we parked up as normal in the underground carpark, not a feat for novice drivers due to the very tight access and steel inclines. We when up to reception and tried to check in at the privilege desk. We'd booked a privilege room for 4 nights. The staff member on duty had such poor grasp of English that I was unable to even get him to recognise my surname, and I eventually needed to spell it out slowly in a phonetic form. He was unable to answer any questions about the room, and as a Gold card member I had hoped for an upgrade if available. This concept was entirely lost to him. He them passed me the card/keys and "Thrust" a small packed of biscuits at me! I assume this was my "Welcome gift" Already feeling very unwelcome, we went up to our room, and discovered that it was tiny. I later viewed the floorplan and discovered that our room was the smallest privilege room on the floor, and this added to my previous excellent experiences of the hotel led me to feel my custom was being very much "Taken for Granted" My wife and I settled in, and did the best we could. Breakfast is served in the main foyer and was the regular selection you'd expect. I was surprised at the lack of choice in the cold meat and bread area, but otherwise fine. Come Saturday, this choice dwindled significantly and left us with a rather poor perception of the hotel. One alarming issue was that one of the glasses that were kept above the food was badly cracked and even had a large piece missing! I was exceptionally careful with the fruit salad that day to ensure I did not discover the missing chard of glass. Upon departure the final slap was the receptionist attempting to charge us for breakfasts when all were already prepaid! I seriously doubt we will return here next year as has been our routine, and wonder what they management will have to feedback on our experience. FYI: On our previous visits we're scored the hotel excellent, something has gone seriously wrong.

A little challenging to find, but the hotel sends detailed instructions. Perfect location in the middle of medieval Rouen, a block away from the cathedral. The breakfast offerings were the best of our two week trip. Comfortable room with a view of one of the steeples.

We were pleased to get a room in this hotel after we left the awful one that we had originally booked. The hotel is modern, immaculately clean and spacious. Our room ticked all the boxes apart from the tea bags, okay if you like flavoured tea but not if you don’t. The breakfast was excellent, better than most, and was a good start to the day. The location is excellent , perfect for walking through beautiful Rouen. The Cathedral is just around the corner and although the bells are loud they didn’t disturb us in our room. There is a car park but be warned if you have a large car it is a nightmare to manoeuvre in parts, we have a badly damaged alloy wheel to prove this and repairs are not cheap. We had to help another guest when he was trying to get out, another large car too. You have been warned.
