We stayed in a two-bedroom suite, which provided lots of space. Loved the full kitchen, as well as the breakfast and evening snacks. The rooms are spread out quite a bit, so it can be a bit of a walk to the lobby. The only negative was that the door to the downstairs bedroom made a tremendous squeaking noise, which was rather jarring in the middle of the night. Would definitely stay here again, though.
We are here on an extended stay from out of state, taking care of family matters. The location is excellent, across the street from Costco and the Alderwood Mall. The facility is clean and quiet. The best part, unlike some other “suite” hotels is it has a full kitchen! By that I mean, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, and a full on stove! Full size cooktop AND full size oven. Eating out on an extended stay can get expensive, but cooking our own meals is really a comfort in high stress situations. We eat what we like, when we like. No waiting, no lines, no high eat out bills. Love it.
Everything went well as expected from the Marriott Hotels. Front desk was friendly and the employees had lots of smiles. The breakfast and evening snacks were very good and the parking was more than expected.
We stayed 4 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. The property comprises several buildings each containing 8 suites - it does not feel like a hotel which was very nice. In between the buildings there are small fountains and the grounds are very well maintained. The suite was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. The main bedroom is upstairs - it is not fully enclosed and overlooks the living room, but this did not cause us any problems. Breakfast was good - with a good range of hot and cold food. There is a very good Fred Meyer supermarket less than a mile away and Alderwood Mall is very close. The pool and sports court looked nice, though we did not use them. We used the laundry room - very useful. The Boeing factory is close by. We went the Rage Cage batting cages in Everett - recommended if you want to hit a few baseballs. The hotel is close to the interstate, so easy to get to and is in a nice neighbourhood.
My family and I stayed in the Residence in by Marriott on our way to the Great Wolf Lodge (which I will be reviewing in two days). Other than the wonderful service by a dedicated staff the hotel is really in need of a major refresh inside and out. First and foremost the stairwells leading up to the room were tiny. We had two duffle like bags and I had to leave one downstairs and carry them up one at a time. It's not because I'm weak, but it's because I couldn't fit in the stairwell (I'm not that big - see below). While the beds themselves were definitely Marriott standard - the furniture was dated, the TV in the living room barely worked on half the channels and the fan was so loud I couldn't hear the TV. That's probably because there was a big 10 x 10 metal grate that the air came out of right behind the couch. The location is equipped with a full kitchen but who knows how long it's been since the dishwasher was used or cleaned as the interior of it was yellow. The shower head leaked water and the toilet seat was really small (I'm 5,9, 180 - don't think I should dwarf a modern day toilet). I also should mention - and I did mention this to the front desk - that the couch was covered in dog hair. Thing is - we didn't bring a dog. We don't even have one...because I'm allergic. So, dog hair- not good. We didn't complain much, if at all other than about the hair, as the staff were super nice and the breakfast was pretty good. Plus we were checking out after a nights stay. Suffice to say, we likely won't be back here though. There are other Marriotts and Starwoods (our preferred brands) that are much nicer in and around this area. Note - not ragging on the staff at all - they were great. They are the only reason this is a 3 and not a 1 green dot review (why the green dot by the way???).
Our overnight stay at the Residence Inn in Lynnwood was quite enjoyable. The room was large with a full kitchen and a comfortable living space area with a couch and TV. The king-size bed was comfortable and the tub/shower was spacious. We checked in at 10:30PM with no problems and were already relaxing in bed by 11:00PM. The property was very full, based on all the cars parked there but it was quiet so that was good. The continental breakfast was very good. Eggs, sausages, oatmeal, fruit, waffle maker, coffee, everything you need to have a great meal and be well-fed for the rest of your day. I really appreciate hotels with complimentary continental breakfasts because it saves us money and we don't have to rush to check-out, go somewhere else and wait for a table for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again when we come through Lynnwood.
The Residence Inn is about twenty miles North of Seattle just North of the Alderwood Mall. The property contains multiple building containing one and two bedrooms suites. The staff is outstanding. The suites have plenty of room. The Penthouse suites have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and three televisions. The night stands had three large deep drawers. There is a full dresser. There is free breakfast buffet every morning. The layout is well setup with two separate toaster and two separate waffle makers. The staff keeps the tables clean and makes sure all the foods are well stocked. The Inn provides location transportation to the mall or other local areas. There is an outside pool basketball/tennis court and a gym inside.
Pros: friendly staff; huge suites that are very clean; quiet A/C; very good complimentary breakfast and evening reception "goodies." Cons: Although the suite we were in #1411 was lovely, it felt cave-like as it was rather dark; noisy footsteps from upstairs suite; pricey during the week.
Excellent location. Walking distance to mall, dining and shopping. Front desk and staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Khadijah, the breakfast lady, does a wonderful job keeping the food fresh with a pleasant smile and always makes us feel like we are at home. The Ladies cleaning our room are pleasant and do a wonderful job. As a Marriott Platinum member, I strongly recommend this hotel.
I haven't checked out yet but am compelled to write. I arrived for one night and while on the surface things looked ok, you can tell a lot about a hotel by the bathroom floor. When I closed the door I found a pile of hairs accumulated behind the door. Clearly nobody cleans there so you have to wonder what else they are not cleaning. Minutes later I found out. In the shower there was (still is) a used washcloth hanging over the top of the shower curtain. It's been there for some time. I do 60-80 hotel nights per year. Things like this show the hotel isn't well cleaned and that nobody is checking to see if the cleaners are doing their job. I'm putting this on the list of those never to come back to. It's just gross.
