I stayed in this apartment for four weeks. Unfortunately I had found the host to be quite unresponsive. When I requested that the broken office chair be fixed, the host responded saying that the issue would be looked into. It never was. Not for my four weeks there. I followed up several times. I was working as a digital nomad from the apartment and having a functioning office chair was important. I even made a comment over text to the host to say that their lack of reply could impact my interest in giving them a five star review and they still didn’t reply to that message. The only message they replied to during my stay after my initial complaint was around check-out. They claimed that I had overstayed my welcome and that I had spoken violently with their staff and called them racist. This was fascinating to me because like I said my complaint is actually that I haven’t talked to them. They then blocked me on WhatsApp and I called Vrbo. Vrbo confirmed that I was not overstaying my reservation and then called the host. The host apologized to Vrbo and told Vrbo that they had confused me with another guest with the same name. The host then later apologized to me and offered me a late check out which didn’t have an impact on me because I already had an early flight and couldn’t enjoy a later check-out. When I then left something in the apartment, the host was really slow to respond yet again. It’s a beautiful place and location and it’s a shame the host isn’t responsive.
