We booked Bella Santorini after reading the reviews on trip advisor. It's the first time, I have felt really let down from trip advisor reviews. I am honestly blown away with the high ratings, because my experience was completely different to those listed below. When I first saw the room we were allocated I was appalled. For a minute I actually was confused and thought I must have been looking at pictures from a different place. There obviously are rooms that must look like their photos but it definitely wasn't what we received. Our room was completely dark, with a big brown cabinet blocking the window. The aircon didn't work, the kitchenette was mouldy with a pungent smell. The bed was disgraceful, hard with a few slats and you could feel the springs under your back. Stained bed sheets. The pool towels are all mismatched with holes and majority I received were kids pool towels, definitely didn't do the job. The wifi does not work in rooms only outside in certain places and was poor quality , continuously dropping out. Grateful to have breakfast included but go too late and there's nothing left! The staff couldn't keep up with hot food, and there were meats put directly next to eggs in the Bay-Marie. There were flies and no covers on food and you get cold bread ( there's no toaster). Now the best part of our stay were the staff. They were absolutely lovely. Really welcoming and friendly, but unfortunately for the money we payed, we felt incredibly ripped off and disappointed. We would not stay here again.
I am going to write a honest review. I just came back from Greece last week and stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and 7 days. When me and my friends arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with the hotel manager not really seeming prepared for our arrival. Usually a hotel will have a specific room set aside for you, while here we found that she gave us what rooms she had left. Which I’ll get to soon. Anyway, we were quite tired from a long airplane flight and wanted to be shown to our room. The lady (can’t remember her name) seemed quite insistent in showing us a map of the island and telling us all the things we could do. When you book activities through a hotel, the hotel gets a little money, and she seemed to get quite annoyed when we said we wasn’t interested in anything she pointed out. Which is good because we found the activities ourselves at a much cheaper price! Now then, the rooms she showed us basically ruined our mood much further. They did not look like the pictures we saw on their website!!!!! There was a group of us and we wanted 3 rooms, all of them with single beds. One pair was supposed to get a balcony and didn’t, which is what they payed for. Another room was tiny, with a double bed and hundreds of ants in the corner. Finally there was my room, while bigger than the rest was just as run down and looked as crappy as the rest of them. I’m not saying there isn’t any rooms in the hotel that match these pictures, but the rooms we got offered were RUN DOWN. I promise you, it didn’t match the pictures, and we were all so disappointed with it on the first day. Moving on the appliances, on the website it says you have access to irons, plug sockets, hair dryers etc. When we did try to ask the manager for these things, she had an annoyed and put out expression on her face which was very off putting. My friend plugged in the hair dryer and when it wouldn’t turn on, the hairdryer had smoke coming out of it, and we quickly pulled the plug. There was an old fashioned tv in the room, which didn’t even work. At one point we needed access to the microwave to warm something up, when we asked the kitchen staff they seemed annoyed. It just seemed like all the staff had fake smiles on the face and annoyed expressions if you asked for something they offer on the website. The pool was lovely and did actually look how it does in the pictures which is it’s one saving grace, minus the white gauzy curtains you see in the website pics. There was a menu at the bar where you could order food. I ordered chips which was decent for 5 euros, I ordered a pizza for 8 euros which was again decent enough to eat. I also ordered spaghetti I think for 10 euros which was awful. Everyone has their own taste so if you like it or not, is entirely up to you. The good thing about this hotel is it’s location. It was 5 min walk to the beach, 30 min walk to the bus station which is where you need to go if you want to travel to other cities like Oia and Fira. It’s also near water sport activities and other activities you can find near the beach. Overall. I had a good time in Greece because of these things I could do. Would I go Greece again in the future, yes. But would I stay in this hotel again, definitely not.
Myself and my partner stayed at Bella Santorini for 1 week. We received a lovely welcome on arrival from Lena and she made us feel immediately comfortable and happy that we had chosen a lovely place to stay. The rooms were cleaned daily, bedding nice and clean, bathrooms also. Lena was very helpful and could not do enough for us, even cooked us a pizza at 10.30pm on request delivered to our room! Delicious! The breakfast daily was lovely and fresh, always something in the buffet to entice everyone. The pool was immaculate and very pleasant to sit around after being at the beach. beach is a 5 minute walk from the apartment complex and the bars and restaurants have a really relaxed hippy vibe about them, none of them intimidating. Lena the Apartment owner encouraged us to go on the boat trip, she actually sings and encourages Greek dancing on the boat, the food on the boat was excellent and the saxophonist who played whilst we watched the sunset was brilliant. We aim to go back to the same apartments in September and next year hopefully and would recommend this complex if you have not visited Santorini before. It is a beautiful island and once you visit you will want to go back for sure. Thank you Lena & team for making us so happy and welcome and apologies for the tears at the end when I left this beautiful place - I did not want to go home!! Till we see you again soon xxx
We spent one week in Bella Santorini in a sea view room. It was a very pleasant experience. The place was very clean, the unit was very spacious. The hotel has several very nice features - a nice deep pool, very nice breakfast which includes some local food, which is nice touch. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable Lina and Elena helped us to book practically all activities that we wanted and made sure that we got very good service. I strongly recommend to use their expertise when staying their help we would a lot.
We had 3 amazing days at this hotel. Very clean our room every day, nice breakfast and the stuff very helpful. The blond lady ready for any question and recommendations. Perivolos is absolutely perfect for your base on holidays, from here to visit all the island. All the people saying about the famous sunset .....In Oia..but...noone about the spectacular morning Sunrise.....in PERIVOLOS...BLACK BEACH!!!!!! Will be back !!!!we look forward for next year
The pictures really do it justice in reality it is fine if you are there for a few days but not two weeks. On arrival Lean was friendly and after informing us of all the trips available it became apparent after a few days that as we were not booking any trip through the hotel her attitude towards us changed she managed a good morning and that was it. Rooms basic but the cleaner is very good and looks after them. There is a see view but before fields and a busy road. Breakfast not a very good standard and the breakfast room is a glass add-on with seating for 22 with 60 rooms you do the maths it starts at 8 the latest we went for it was 915 (do not close until 10) and there was very little left and no attempt was made to replenish it so had nothing. The hotel only has a pool bar which shuts at 7:30 and the prices were rather dear at 12 euros for a cocktail. Not much of a drinker so not too bothered about the alcohol but did ask for a cup of tea at 2pm told we don't serve tea only at breakfast. We did find a lovely place on the beach and stayed with Stavros and his family for 3 nights which was lovely. W asked about a transfer back to the airport and was told 35 euros and we managed to arrange it ourselves for 25. Finally when checking out went to pay bill with debit card only to be told they only take cash and was promptly take to a cash machine. Would I go back to Santorini yes this hotel - never
We stayed at Bella Santorini for a week for our mini-moon at the end of June. The hotel is lovely, quiet and relaxing. It is in a good location for the bars and restaurants. The blonde lady who I think is the manager is lovely and very helpful. We even got an upgrade for one night which was a nice surprise! Just a couple of points which prevented me from giving the hotel 5*s - the wifi is very temperamental around the pool, bar and reception area and we unfortunately couldn't get wifi in our room. Breakfast could be improved as well - limited choice and too cramped in! Finally one of the members of staff is quite pushy trying to sell you boat trips; we did want to go on one so were prepared to buy but she kept trying to push the very expensive one (€135-150pp) on us which we simply were not prepared to pay for. When we asked for the cheaper one, we were told it was sold out but then when we made it clear we wern't going to buy the expensive one, suddenly it wasn't sold out! I appreciate they are working on commission but it is just something to be aware of! All in all though, I would recommend staying here.
Beautifull hotel with perfect"Honeymoon villa",perfect location-2 min walk to bus stop and to local shop also max 5 min to black sandy beach and resaturants, amazing mountain and sea side view.Staff very friendly and very helpfull make u feel like at home, breakfast so deliciouse-many choices every day.Our place very clean with every day cleaning service.Nice swimming pool with little coctail bar.Wish to back there soon, very recomended;-)
I'm not sure what I can add to the other fantastic reviews of this hotel but want to emphasise that, above all else, Lina, Elena and team are the best hosts we've ever come across. They were incredible attentive and friendly throughout the 2 weeks we stayed but were never intrusive. We were genuinely sad to leave what had become our home for a fortnight - so much so that we are already planning to return to and as we never stay in the same place twice so that's the biggest compliment I can pay. The hotel itself is small enough to feel intimate but has all the facilities you could want. It is clean and comfortable, 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to restaurants/bars. Our bed was really comfortable and breakfast is an experience in itself. Lina not only runs the hotel but does the cooking as well. She spends a lot of time talking to the guests and listening to them as well. Because of this, she will often make food requested or suggested by her new friends and it is fantastic. I'm not sure how she manages to find time, but Lina is also a singer and arranged for us to join her on a luxury boat trip where she provided the entertainment. This day was one of the highlights of our holiday and we would love to do it again. Since returning, I have done nothing but sing Santorini's praises as a holiday destination but more than that, have recommended anyone going there to stay at Bella Santorini. Thank you Lina and Team for making our much needed holiday such a wonderful experience.
On our first night Nick picked us up at the airport, which was very helpful since our flight from Athens was delayed twice and over two hours plus behind scheduled. I would call and they were very accommodating in adjusting the times for us. Upon arrival we met Lina. She was very pleasant and delightful and again accommodating to us. She walked us to our room#115 and explained every detail. The room was neat and clean. We thanked the young lady who cleaned our room each day. My family and I enjoyed the breakfast and there were a lot to choose from. The view from the hotel was breathtaking and the beach was a short walk. We would definitely stay there whenever we are back in Santorini. Lastly Lina and her staff were the best experience we had on the island. Kevin and Gina
