Absolutely loved this place. The views were fantastic, the breakfasts, amazing, and the staff were so helpful! Pavlos had wonderful recommendations for places to eat and was very hospitable and made us feel right at home. Already planning our trip back!
Unfortunately my partner and I had a bad experience prior to our stay, we had booked the hotel and were contacted and offered an upgrade. The staff informed us that they had double booked our room. They wanted to put us in two separate hotels. My partner and I went back to explain that we would accept the upgrade but wanted the same hotel for the duration. The staff then explained that they had given away the upgrade to the other couple who happily accepted the hotel. This would not usually be an issue however, it was our anniversary and my partner had planned a proposal which the hotel were fully aware of. Unfortunately the proposal was postponed. My partner and I called up a number of times to try and rectify the issue and the staff were disgustingly rude explaining that its our fault we should have accepted. However, we never declined we jsut asked if they were able to accomodate 1 hotel for the duration as it was a special break. We carried on with the original booking in LaLuna suites and half expected the hotel and staff to be a disgrace but I can safely say that Anna and the male receptionist were incredible. They went above and beyond our expectations and helped us book transport, dinner, lunch, excursions. The room was Immaculate and by far the best view we had in santorini. The breakfast was amazing. The room was cleaned daily. It was quiet at night. The room was perfect temperature but had a well working aircon and heating unit. 5 stars all round but 10 stars for the staff. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
We stayed in the Astrophelia suite in September 2017 as we were getting married in Santorini. The Room Wowza, it's amazing, it's huge as well! The entire room is just so extravagant. You get a complimentary laptop in the room, which was a nice touch, although we didn't use it. There's a Nespresso machine and your pods are refreshed everyday. There is also a docking station with a USB loaded with songs, which I thought was lovely. On arrival Pavlos opened the door and there was soft music playing and he gave us two glasses of champagne, it felt to special! The Balcony So basically, you have your inside/covered balcony where your tub is, which is again, huge! and then you have your outside balcony which has two sunbeds, umbrella and a table and chairs. This is the part of the balcony which is shared. Other guests from the hotel and staff walk on this bit of the balcony to get to their rooms and you are very close to another hotel on your right hand side, if anything we enjoyed this, we got speaking to a lovely Australian family and if people walked through the balcony (which wasn't very often) they were always so friendly. If you have been to Santorini before you will know if you want to stay in the main places, privacy is not possible, so if this is important to you, look at another island! Breakfast One of the peaks of our stay here was the champagne breakfast every morning!! On our arrival Pavlos told us there were set times you could have your breakfast and only one room can take that time, we were a little worried about this at first as most people wanted the early ones, but we didn't get out of bed earlier than 10am most days so this wasn't a problem at all. One day we did need an early breakfast so we went up early and made sure we got the spot! The breakfast is delicious and huge! Staff One of the best parts of our stay were the staff, Anna and Pavlos were so helpful and understanding as we were having our wedding that week they helped us a lot! And booked taxis for us most days which was again really helpful. Even the breakfast chap (sorry I didn't get his name) was great, one day we really 'hit the hay hard' and nearly missed breakfast so he just gave us a gentle knock to say our breakfast was outside, which was really sweet. Location Okay, you cannot get a better located hotel, impossible, it is bang in the centre of Thira, near hotel Atlantis where there is a car park so you can put any hired vehicles there. There are quite a few steps to get down to the hotel, so I would not recommend this hotel for children and the elderly. We had lots of guests staying in Santorini so this was the perfect place to be amongst everyone. And the views... they look better in person! Summary I love this hotel, it's great and I would highly recommend it!
We stayed in the Astrophelia suite and loved it! My husband complained of the steps every time (44 because he counted). I thought it was fine. Take your time. If steps are an issue book a room higher up. Our balcony was stunning with incredible sea views and the jacuzzi was the perfect touch!! Breakfast was outstanding and so was Pavlos. His recommendations were great. Hotel is pristine, location could not be better. You can walk everywhere you need to go and if you are venturing to the far corners of Santorini, the island's main bus station is a block away. We hope to return to Santorini one day and will stay at Asteras Villas with no hesitation.
This was our second time visiting Asteras Villas! We stayed in the bigger suite this time and it was perfect! The only thing I forgot was how many stairs there were to take, but that's everywhere in Santorini! Pavlo the manager was amazing from the moment we arrived, from helping getting us settled to provided suggestions for beautiful places to eat! Location is perfect, view spectacular and breakfast was amazing! Nothing to fault! Thanks again Pavlo and team for being so hospitable! Until next time - regards Mary & Tony from Australia
Seriously stunning location looking out at the volcano and ocean!!! I stayed in the Phoebe suite (right down the bottom) and we had breakfast daily on the balcony overlooking the stunning view. The hotel staff were so lovely and helpful. We also booked a cruise through them on their suggestion and we had the best time. The hotel is verbally centrally located to all shops and restaurants. There are quite a few stairs to go up and down (as we were in the suite down the bottom) but it wasn't difficult at all and the hotel staff carried our bags for us upon arrival and departure. Would definitely stay here again and didn't want to leave!!
My husband and I spent 10 days in Asteras Villas Galatea suite and we cannot complain AT ALL. The view from our room was beautiful, breakfast served every morning at the time we desired was delicious and filling, and the location is right in the middle of the city. BUT, the best part about Asteras Villas is the people who work there!! Pavlos and Anna were extremely accommodating and attentive, addressing any issue or question we had with a kind attitude and in a quick manner. They confirmed all of our excursions for us, recommended restaurants and travel tips, and made our Santorini experience unforgettable!!! Literally the trip of a lifetime thanks to this place!! XOXO 💕
The is a small boutique hotel with 5 "suites" on different levels. Very centrally located (close to everything in Fira) with amazing views of the Caldera. Friendly staff (Pavlos was great) and good service. One thing to note, the reception is not open 24 hours per day (staff leave at 10:30pm each night). Stayed in the Galatea Suite which is actually a small room (not a suite) with a private hot tub and a semi-private/shared balcony. But the view was amazing. Breakfast is served each morning on the balcony. One minor point, we had to carry our bags to and from the room upon check-in and checkout. Would not have mattered much except for the numerous stairs from the entrance to the room.
We stayed in the galatea suite for our stay in asteras villas and it was gorgeous. Amazing views of the Caldera that I will never forget. As for the hospitality the team were great! Anna was ever so helpful and the gentleman serving the breakfast every morning was really polite and friendly. I would 100% recommended staying here the location is spot on 5 stars...
We stayed in Asteras Villas from late February to early March 2017. We stayed in the La Luna Suite. For some reason the La Luna suite was the only one available when we booked which baffles me because, after arriving, I believe it has the most unimpeded view of the Caldera. I'll try to break down some points that I look for when vacationing. View - Stunning, Beautiful, Breath-taking. When you walk back to your hotel, you will see a lot of people gathered on the main walkway to look at the view you get while sitting in the hot tub on your balcony. Location - The hotel is located a short walk from everything and anything you need on vacation. Restaurants were anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes away (Meraki, which I hoped I spelled right, is worth the 15 minute walk for an authentic Greek taverna experience). Bus station is about a 5 minute walk. Any excursion we went on picked us up at the main square which is about 2-4 minutes away. Pubs and Cocktail bars are anywhere from 30 seconds to a 5 minute walk away. Food - There is no restaurant at Asteras, BUT they offer breakfast delivered to your balcony every morning. And there is a dinner menu that you can choose from a few different options. We never ate dinner there mostly because we would get wrapped up with what we were doing during the day. The breakfast is delicious with lots of options. Order the Mosaic Chocolate Cake! Service - Second to none. You are greeted with a smile every time you go into reception by Pavlos. You need a rent a car? You want to book a private catamaran tour? You need a suggestion for dinner? You missed your pre-booked shuttle to the airport? Pavlos helped us with all that without us having to think about it. Where we were there during the tourist off season he got us great prices also. Even after we caused him the headache of holding up a group shuttle leaving for the airport, he still paid for our taxi and personally said goodbye with a genuine smile. Cleanliness - Our room was very clean and well-kept. I would definitely recommend Asteras to anyone looking for luxury, romance or a centrally located hotel on the island. Stop in to PK's for a cocktail, if they know your staying next door they give you a few euros off your bill. We were talking about another trip to Greece on the flight back to Canada when the weather is better. I'm sure we will be back for a couple nights at Asteras.
