My husband and I spent 10 days in Asteras Villas Galatea suite and we cannot complain AT ALL. The view from our room was beautiful, breakfast served every morning at the time we desired was delicious and filling, and the location is right in the middle of the city. BUT, the best part about Asteras Villas is the people who work there!! Pavlos and Anna were extremely accommodating and attentive, addressing any issue or question we had with a kind attitude and in a quick manner. They confirmed all of our excursions for us, recommended restaurants and travel tips, and made our Santorini experience unforgettable!!! Literally the trip of a lifetime thanks to this place!! XOXO 💕
The is a small boutique hotel with 5 "suites" on different levels. Very centrally located (close to everything in Fira) with amazing views of the Caldera. Friendly staff (Pavlos was great) and good service. One thing to note, the reception is not open 24 hours per day (staff leave at 10:30pm each night). Stayed in the Galatea Suite which is actually a small room (not a suite) with a private hot tub and a semi-private/shared balcony. But the view was amazing. Breakfast is served each morning on the balcony. One minor point, we had to carry our bags to and from the room upon check-in and checkout. Would not have mattered much except for the numerous stairs from the entrance to the room.
We stayed in the galatea suite for our stay in asteras villas and it was gorgeous. Amazing views of the Caldera that I will never forget. As for the hospitality the team were great! Anna was ever so helpful and the gentleman serving the breakfast every morning was really polite and friendly. I would 100% recommended staying here the location is spot on 5 stars...
We stayed in Asteras Villas from late February to early March 2017. We stayed in the La Luna Suite. For some reason the La Luna suite was the only one available when we booked which baffles me because, after arriving, I believe it has the most unimpeded view of the Caldera. I'll try to break down some points that I look for when vacationing. View - Stunning, Beautiful, Breath-taking. When you walk back to your hotel, you will see a lot of people gathered on the main walkway to look at the view you get while sitting in the hot tub on your balcony. Location - The hotel is located a short walk from everything and anything you need on vacation. Restaurants were anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes away (Meraki, which I hoped I spelled right, is worth the 15 minute walk for an authentic Greek taverna experience). Bus station is about a 5 minute walk. Any excursion we went on picked us up at the main square which is about 2-4 minutes away. Pubs and Cocktail bars are anywhere from 30 seconds to a 5 minute walk away. Food - There is no restaurant at Asteras, BUT they offer breakfast delivered to your balcony every morning. And there is a dinner menu that you can choose from a few different options. We never ate dinner there mostly because we would get wrapped up with what we were doing during the day. The breakfast is delicious with lots of options. Order the Mosaic Chocolate Cake! Service - Second to none. You are greeted with a smile every time you go into reception by Pavlos. You need a rent a car? You want to book a private catamaran tour? You need a suggestion for dinner? You missed your pre-booked shuttle to the airport? Pavlos helped us with all that without us having to think about it. Where we were there during the tourist off season he got us great prices also. Even after we caused him the headache of holding up a group shuttle leaving for the airport, he still paid for our taxi and personally said goodbye with a genuine smile. Cleanliness - Our room was very clean and well-kept. I would definitely recommend Asteras to anyone looking for luxury, romance or a centrally located hotel on the island. Stop in to PK's for a cocktail, if they know your staying next door they give you a few euros off your bill. We were talking about another trip to Greece on the flight back to Canada when the weather is better. I'm sure we will be back for a couple nights at Asteras.
This is probably one of the best places you will ever stay at - very luxurious and definitely one of the best views you will ever get. We stayed at the Venus room which gets you a fairly decent sized room, king bed, balcony with an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the Caldera and sea. Breakfast is also served daily at your balcony. Pavlos and his crew also do a great job in recommending places, organizing day trips or transfers and assisting with your luggage - it is a steep and narrow decline down the steps to your rooms so you will definitely need help, in particular when checking out since you would have to walk up the flight of stairs. Location is also excellent since you are pretty much in the center of Fira after you ascend up the steps and exit the gate. Definitely recommended and if you do book, pick the Venus or La Luna suite as they are on the highest floors and provide the most privacy from the bar next door and neighboring buildings.
Asteras Villas is small, boutique and lovely. The moment you arrive your breath is taken away by the view. First class service and tasty generous breakfast brought to your balcony every morning. The staff were friendly and professional. Very comfortable bed and first class room. Sat in the spa on the balcony and watched the stunning sunset. Then we would stroll to any number of great places to eat nearby. We are glad we hired a car which allowed us to see much of Santorini.
In a brief overview we would recommend Asteras Villas to anyone. The location is in central Fira - a 5min walk from the bus stop. The views from our balcony, bed, shower & hot tub were phenomenal, & the service was some of the best I've ever received. Each morning breakfast was served to our balcony & i couldn't think of a better way to start the day. There is enough choice to suite everyone & champagne at 9am never hurts! We stayed in the Pheobe suite which is the bottom room, it's just over 100 steps down but this means that it's only you down there. The room was spacious, & split into two areas. It has everything you'd need; hairdryer, iron, wifi, laptop, full length mirrors. We took a taxi from the airport that cost 20euros, we were dropped a 30meter walk from the hotel. The journey took about 15mins & was completely pain free. On arrival we were told everything there was to know about the entire island. We booked a Quad bike to travel the island & the evening boat tour. As you're so central you can wonder around Fira within a few hours, we walked down the steps to the harbour and back up again (266 steps). If you follow the coastal path you'll end up in Firastefani. We found that when the cruise ships arrived into Fira, Firastefani was relatively empty and a little more relaxing. Whilst on the Quad we managed to travel the entire Island. We stopped at Boutari Vineyard ( it was 12euros for a tour, wine tasting and food pairing) visited the red, black & white beaches and headed up to the old town. That evening we drove to Oia. The roads are pretty bendy and not for the faint hearted but the views on this drive were the best of the entire trip. When in Oia we again walked down the steps to the port, there's a beautiful fish restaurant on the left. Perfect for a glass of fizz & to watch the sunset. On our final day we were booked on the sunset cruise, this was just magical. The staff were so helpful, their knowledge of the island was so in depth & the bbq on the evening really took our breath away. All drinks are also included It is slightly more expensive that the other tours at 135euro pp but watching the sunset from sea was worth every penny. My main tip would be to take trainers. We will definitely be back & wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Asteras Villas. Thank you so much to Anna & the team!
There are only five villas each with stunning view. The villas are clean, amenity well preserved, and having terrace in front of the room is wonderful. There isn't anything to consider as negative point. Staff (Ana, Pavlo, and Eric) absolutely delightful people. Breakfast in the terrace / room is another plus to say the least. Overall, an unforgettable experience for me and my wife.
In the best part of Fira, the villa has fantastic view! Not only from the room, but from the bathroom also! The private jacuzzi on the balcon is the best place to relax and see the wonderful sunset! It's close to shops and restaurants! Definitely will come back!!! LOVE IT
The room was exactly like what it was pictured- quiet, with beautiful views. The location was also really good, with lots of shops and restaurants around, even after dark. I loved their delicious breakfast most! Served every morning to your balcony promptly. It was also very nice that the hotel arranged for a staff to help you with your luggage up the steep stairs when you leave. Highly recommended.
