The Ritz stands up to its reputation in Santiago with a beautiful property, excellent service, nicely appointed rooms, and a nice selection of amenities. All of this, and conveniently located along the city's metro system so you can get around the city easily. The front desk and concierge at the hotel provided ongoing and excellent help as we navigated the city. We arrived early, our bags were stored for us, and we were able to make use of the hotel's spa as well as wander the city a bit. Our room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. Our view of the city was amazing. We ate several meals at the restaurant onsite and although a bit pricy, the food was excellent. We enjoyed our servers as they always seemed to provide the right amount of attention, humor, and interest without being intrusive. I stayed at the Ritz with my 16 year old son and he also enjoyed the property and amenities. The hotel's car service was nice but we also ventured out on the city's metro system. It was easy to get around in town and see the sights, while not being nervous about our safety or getting back. The neighborhood was quiet in the evenings and the hotel is surrounded by other great options for eating out without feeling like we were residing outside of Chile's true vibe. I highly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting Santiago.
This hotel is centrally located and my absolute favorite in Santiago. Amenities and staff always top notch and you feel welcome dand at home. Great for business meetings and corporate functions and events. I would highly recommend to colleagues and friends.
Stayed at RC Santiago after a week of skying. Had been there a few years ago, hotel remains in great shape with excellent rooms, very good food and service. Pool area and Gym are always a high point. Location is also a plus, nearby metro station, costanera mall and diverse shop and restaurant options. My only remark was a true negative impression on having to pay for the internet. In my experience it is outrageous that a 5* hotel charging 300+ USD a night would even think of charging you for wifi. Regardless of the price, this is out of sync with this level of accommodation. I even tried to argue and get exemption with no success. One other issue was renovation. They are working on a few floors and work starts at 8:30 am. Not terribly noise but surely they could push it to 9:30 or so considering many of us were there on vacation related trips. Other than that a good experience.
On the good side, the hotel has a great staff, who are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is in a wonderful location, where it is easy to go for a walk, find restaurants, or go shopping. On the disappointing side, the rooms are run down, the fitness center is very dated, with broken equipment, the pool is too short for swimming laps, and the locker rooms are sad given that this is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Santiago. I am going to try somewhere else next time.
The hotel is ok and the people are friendly and helpful. But, it is supposed to be an excellent hotel, and along that dimension it was a disappointment. The rooms are old, worn, dark, and even a bit dirty. The fitness center must be twenty years old, with broken equipment. The pool is too short of laps. The locker rooms are not of the quality one would expect of a top hotel. When I return to Santiago, I will choose a different hotel.
The Ritz Santiago is a decent hotel, but if you're used to Ritz Carlton's level of quality elsewhere, you should likely adjust your expectations. The hotel is tired. The hallways, room furnishings, etc look like they were pretty great in 1997. We had a suite and it was pretty shabby - carpet stained and fraying, furniture out dated and in poor shape, etc. The bathroom was very nice. They ARE remodeling the hotel, so I'd expect that to change in the near future. But, that's how it is right now. The roughest part is the service. Everyone is quite friendly, but just not particularly good at running a hotel. The concierge was friendly, but clueless. The answer to every question about where to eat, where to pick things up, recommendations on a place to have some wine, etc was to stay at the hotel and go their restaurant. I didn't come to Santiago to live at the hotel. I asked about the area around the hotel, about whether there were restaurants, a place to have a drink, a place to grab a quick breakfast and coffee. All of these were met with an answer that there was nothing around the hotel. A 5 minute walk proved otherwise. Some of these things were nearly across the street. Before I found out this was the case, we decided to have breakfast at the restaurant and were told by the person when we came in that it was included with our room. We were then charged about $60. When I asked about this at the desk they just told me it wasn't included, but didn't seem to care that we were told it was. I just let it go because I didn't feel like arguing. We also asked the concierge to make a reservation for us at a restaurant we wanted to go to and were told it was confirmed. We then asked to update the party size, which they said they called the restaurant and did. When we arrived at the restaurant they had no record of our reservation and said nobody called from the Ritz. They must have made the reservation at the wrong place or under the wrong name. They did not have a table for us, but we lucked out when they had a cancellation. It's not a terrible hotel, but it needs some work on many levels. PS, the door staff is very nice as is the pool staff.
I recently stayed here while in Santiago for a business trip. The staff was awesome - over the top nice - even the doorman greeted me by name throughout my stay. They went out of their way to be helpful. The style of the hotel is very traditional - not modern. They could really use some USB ports for charging so that you don't have to bring adapters with you. Also, there's no ice available, so you have to have someone bring it to you. I saw no evidence that they recycle. The shower is very small. I didn't have any hot water in my room, but I didn't report it because I had a short day and didn't want to deal with having it fixed. I have no doubt that they would have readily moved me or fixed it immediately. The location is good - right near the subway and close to many good places to eat. The hotel is currently being renovated, so it's pretty noisy during the day.
Very good hotel in Santiago. The adress that shows in Trip Advisor is wrong take that in consideration. The hotel is nice. 2 floor are in remodelation. The gym.is beautifull. And the service in the restaurants is verya good. Nice place to be in Santiago! Very near to many good restaurants.
We loved our stay at the Ritz Carlton, Santiago. We had a suite with club access, which made our experience extra special. The club employees were fabulous! Great location, drivers available 24/7, and quiet room.
Very happy with my stay at the Ritz Santiago for business. Pricey for Santiago, but very reasonably priced compared to Europe/North America and well situated in the middle of "San-hatten". The pool is good, albeit small, and the gym is adequate; however, the included breakfast and service is outstanding! Definitely recommended.
