The Grans Hyatt in Santiago has been during several month under CONSTANT renovation and construction. Workers are noisy. Hotel rents out rooms on floor were active renovation of other guest rooms is in process. This is disturbing. Until these renovations are not completed, I would NOT recommend use of this hotel.
Outstanding hotel in every way with incredible views of the city and the Andes Mountains. Well equipped rooms and baths, as wonderfully soft beds. I stayed in a king sized bed, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Baths are just as marvelous. My ceiling to floor window when opened gave me a majestic look at the Andes Mountains. What else can I say? One of my favorite hotels in the world. BTW, the Front Desk staff was accommodating, courteous, caring and very sympathetic to a tired traveler such as myself.
The Hotel is located close to Parque Araucano which is nice to take a walk. also close to great restaurants and bars. also depending on the conditions of the day, you should be able to see the Andes and their snow cones. a magnificent view to wake up to. great location, people, and price.
Horrible. Housekeeping robbed the cash inside my wallet that was in my room while cleaning. Management started an investigation and checked security cameras. So three days later, they returned me the money I had in cash inside my wallet with was 100 dollars. Great but I will never return again. Lost all trust.
Since 2010 every time I come to Chile I use to stay in this great hotel. Since the first time I have been in I got in love with the garden that surrounds the swimming pool and with the atmosphere you live in. I always had good experience enjoying all my stays. Good quality staff. Now under renewing ... it was time. The rooms were a bit dated even comfortable. The renewed rooms are of top standard. Fantastic location in Las Condes, just few steps away from Parque Arauco. Come here and enjoy.
This hotel facility is beautiful! The staff are well-trained and very accommodating. The pool is fantastic, so come prepared for a swim! I only had time to visit one of the hotel restaurants - the Matsuri - which is a Sushi themed restaurant. The sushi was excellent. The service was a little slow, but since I was not in a hurry it didn't really matter.
Very tired rooms and because the president of Panama was there we were treated like 2nd class tourists and staff were rude. They did not want us to use normal cabs. The city is safe. The hotel was far out, stay near the old city. Also no toilet paper in executive level floor. Bad management
I really enjoyed the Grand Hyatt in Santiago. The staff were all great. I arrived after 11pm on a Saturday night, and there issues with my key card. The staff dealt with it quickly and thoroughly. My room was beautiful: a sunken office area (two steps down) with a small sofa and a separate chair with ottoman. The TV was large and could be positioned to be viewed from the bed or the office / living area. All the staff spoke great English and were all helpful, including the concierge and door men. Only very minor quibbles: the location is very residential, so more than just a walk to downtown or anything like that. The bathtub was draining slowly but I never told them so they didn't have a chance to fix it. I just didn't want more staff in my room. However, there is a mall nearby, so some other dining options. The atrium is beautiful and the outside pool and courtyard are beautiful and relaxing. Highly recommend. One of the best hotel stays I've had in years.
Had stayed in this hotel in the past, exactly a year ago. The hotel staff @ reception was great the only problem was at the restaurant for breakfast, I encountered a gentlemen on the omlet stand who was very rude after I politely asked him to review the omelet he had just cooked for me as I noticed it was undercooked. His response was that it was not undercooked and that it was the way I should eat the omelet, juicy!!!!!! Needless to say I had to insist to the cookon the stand to recook the omelet. Terrible manners and combative behavior. The hotel manager never came to talk to me even after formally complaining. Day two, hotel ran out of water. Horrible experience Overall. Would not recommend for a stay here!
Our third time at this hotel, and the service remains exceptional. We got on of the just remodeled hotel rooms, and they are beautifully done. The basic room is really a junior suite, quite large on two levels. Fantastic bathroom. Santiago is really into great infrastructure improvements, with highway ramps that have been under construction at all three visits over the past 5 years. Still that didn't really bother us and we typically walked in the direction away from the improvements. Some day it will really be nice! The incredible subway system is about a 15 minute walk, which is a pleasant one. However, if I were staying for several days, I would choose a hotel near restaurants and closer to the subway. But the Grand Hyatt makes a great refuge with huge grounds and an outdoor pool, so perfect if you are in between flights.
