First the good: The room was basically clean, has a refrigerator and microwave. There was adequate parking and it was reasonably quiet (aside from occasional loud hotel guests). The location is convenient, walking distance to a Starbucks, some fast food and a Target store, among others. The not so good: This is what really is a $40 to $60/night motel room that cost nearly $200/night after taxes. Some of that is due to price overreach throughout the hotel industry and the exaggerated cost of living in California. However, the owners appear to be pocketing the excess profits instead of reinvesting in the property. They do not offer even a basic continental breakfast (maybe b/c of Covid?). The pool was out of commission despite 90-degree afternoons. There was water puddled at the base of the toilet in our room. The shower, though spacious, could use a very good scrubbing. What, they can't hire a competent cleaning service to come through and scrub out the mold in the shower grout and otherwise get the rooms shiny clean? They can't afford basic maintenance? These failings are where motel management drops the ball. It's basically an OK place to spend a couple of nights on a road trip and though grossly overpriced, it's the least expensive among the other grossly overpriced hotels in Santa Rosa. I can recommend this place for travelers on a (relative) budget, but that recommendation would be a lot more enthusiastic if the management would just take care of the property.

Patel was friendly, a wee bit hard to understand on the phone. Bed was good, all linens clean. Room was quiet though on a busy street. Trader Joe's and Starbucks across the street for easy eats, but also liquor store with cop cars and flashing lights. Everything worked, and the wifi was fast and continuous, but furniture, shower and rug were tired. Book online or you will need to pay in cash....

This hotel is not part of the Country Inn and Suites franchise of the Midwest. It is standa alone 1950's era motor hotel. The room was clean but a bit spartan. Santa Rosa is 50 miles from San Francisco, so this is not a good location if you are planning to go to the city.

Needed a spot for a short night as we were getting up at 3:00 a.m. to attend the Sonoma County Balloon Fest. Although in a funky location and a little dubious from the street, we found the grounds and room to be very clean. The staff/owners were very kind and helpful. The room, though sparsely decorated, was quite comfortable and the bed made it difficult to get up at 3:00. We had planned to check out at that time by leaving the key in the room, but the event finished in time for us to go back before check out and catch a nap. The owners were kind enough to let us back into the room for a short sleep before we had to drive home. Overall, excellent stay and will stay again next year. p,s. Starbucks right across the street as well as eateries and Trader Joe's.
