La Posada de Santa Fe, a Tribute Portfolio Resort & Spa

4.5 out of 5.0

I have never taken in a full "spa day" before but decided to and hoped that La Posada would deliver. The staff at the Spa is stellar - from Claudia to Yvette to Rebecca - wow, the best. They made my whole trip to Santa Fe the best trip I have had yet! Exceptional care and treatments from each of them...should I return and take in any treatments I will ask for each one of them again!

I was attending a wedding and we all stayed at La Posada de Santa Fe. Overall, the hotel was nice. My biggest concerns were the lack of service. Had to call the front desk several times during my stay and half the time there was no response and a couple of the times when I did receive a response, my requests were never met (asked to have my room clean - twice... didn't get room service at all one day so I just asked for clean towels when we got back to our room at midnight).

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely Southwestern style tastefully decorated rooms in small cottages on large, nicely manicured property. Good restaurant and bar.

Very good, we were walking distance to almost everything we wanted to see.

The setting is lovely, and the rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and offer the right amenities. Spa, pools and yoga classes are fun when you want to relax. The bar is set in the old house and offers great cocktails and appetizers.

This hotel has the absolute nicest, friendliest most accomodating staff I have ever met, and I travel often. Rooms are beautiful, private and the grounds are equisite.. Go there!!

The complex has a great location and the staff are very attentive. I had a problem in that our room was very small. For $200 a night, I was hopeing for a little bit more. We were supposed to get two doubles , but only had a single. For half the price, try the Sage and you can get a nice breakfast also.

We purposely booked a romantic weekend escape to La Posada after attending the Albuquerque ballon Festival. Perfect plan! We were able to achieve maximum relaxation before heading back to California.

Beautiful grounds, large comfortable room with fireplace. Staff goes out of their way to please. Free coffee in lounge, newspaper to door. Went to recommended restaurant ( The Compound). When bill for meal presented, informed La Posada was picking up tab for dessert. 4-5 minute walk to plaza. Easy to get to from Albuquerque airport, 45 minutes. Lots of extras. Will go back!

The outside areas, restaurant, bars and most staff at this hotel were fine -- but the rooms did not live up to the rest of the resort. I was assigned to an upstairs room, the farthest distance from the main building as possible. The room was comfortable, but nothing special. The heating/cooling was very strange -- I had to turn on the air conditioner in January in Santa Fe and it made a strange clicking noise all night. The next morning I woke up, got ready to shower and NO HOT WATER. None! I had to pack everything and move to a new (smaller) room -- not what I wanted to do at 8 in the morning. There was NO apology from the management. Being a "4-star" resort, I would have thought they would have sent some token of apology -- but that's just me. With so many other choices in Santa Fe, I'll try other options next time.

As far as the satff goes, they were awsome. The room we stayed in was fairly decent. The TV was stuck in a dresser type cabinet and we couldn't see the whole screen unless we were on the bed. We never knew when the cleaning staff was going to show up and on two occasions they knocked twice and they were already on their way in before we could answer the door. The coffee maker in our room did not work properly and we had to call twice before they brought another one. The lighting was poor in the room. It was not centralized but more to one side of the room. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. The whole time we were there the staff would always ask if we needed anything whether we were coming or going. They were very helpful as to what there was to do in Santa Fe and great places to eat. All things considered I have to give La Posada four stars. The place is beautiful and there's lots of art in different forms. The Jazz music in the lounge was also great. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful, quiet but close to plaza hotel. Very attentive staff.

La Posada is a wonderful resort full of beautiful paintings and sculptures throughout the buildings and outside grounds. Staying there was a real treat.

The staff were friendly and courteous. When we got to the room the carpet looked a little dirty and old. Everything else was lovely!

Our king-size bed "patio" room was good, but the patios (front entrance and courtyard garden) were not. Dead plants in planters, with garbage candy wrappers left by previous guests still in them. Patio table tops that were dusty, dirty, and not wiped down. Missing patio chairs. Courtyard garden was full of weeds with no attempts at landscaping or flowers . To make matters worse, room door lock with key card readers kept acting up, locking us out of our room several times during our stay. This self described "luxury hotel" is, perhaps, tired, worn down, and not so "luxurious".

Great location, great food, pool was nice, all around a wonderful place to stay.

it was a very classy hotel artwork galore throughout the mansion. very courteous staff. although checking in early was a problem. the architecture of the resort was amazing.

We arrived 3 hours before check in. They gave us a room early. The location of the room wasn't acceptable to us. They allowed us to use the room until another room was ready (about 4 hours later). We spent the day at the pool. [...]at the pool does it all. We sat down and were immediately served lemon ice water, which she promptly filled throughout our time at the pool. She claims no one gets head stroke on her watch, and I don't doubt it. She served snacks and drinks with great efficiency and always with a smile. When we did check in our new room they had cocktails waiting for us for the inconvenience, which really was not an inconvenience at all. The hotel provides free shuttle service that friendly and readily available. The hotel is within a easy walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel has a nice lounge and restaurant too. The hotel grounds were well maintained and amenities were well marked. Enjoyed a hot rock and rolling thunder massage at the hotel spa. The hotel is tranquil and nice for a get away from the kids. We would visit Santa Fe again and definitely stay at La Posada!

We used La Posada for relaxation, exercise, and as a base for touring local museums and the surrounding area. The room was quiet, well-appointed (two comfortable reading chairs plus a desk), and well-lighted. Services were outstanding, especially the valet parking and shuttle van crew and the concierge. Food was excellent, but service in dining room was slow even when not busy.

The hotel was very nice and our [...] price was about 50% off! Room was clean, staff was sharp. Room was quite small, though and the fireplace was operated with an on switch and gas logs, not real wood!! The expensive breakfast was lousy with poor service. Guests were snobby! The shuttle was very convenient and timely, took us all around town. The grounds were pretty and seemed very private. We would stay here again, but only for a similar price, definitely not worth the full price of the room.
