The Inn at East Beach

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Need to park on the street or pay $10 to park. Bed a bit soft. No frills but near the beach.

The hotel advertised continental included as many in the area do, but it was very poor. Consisted of bread products/toast, juice and coffee. This is a deal breaker when others in area at similiar rates have cereal, yogurts, even hot oatmeal. The hotel was okay, but nothing special. Location is good to East Beach, next to Hyatt etc. The rooms were renovated a while ago but they are clean and at least modern enough. If they would improve their breakfast and put some extra touches like art in the rooms it would be better.

I'm not sure If I would recommend this hotel if there are other options available. The Hyatt and Santa Barbara Inn are just a street away, and I'm sure the overall quality would make for a more enjoyable stay. It's not the worst that I've stayed at, we were only there for one night ,but there are certain things lacking that you want and expect from a hotel that has as many good reviews as it does. There is no air conditioning, so you pretty much have to leave your door open, leaving you subject to other guests leering into your room and all of the noise from the pool which is centered right in the middle. It's an old apartment complex so the noise control is not the best and you can hear everything everyone is doing. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and know all the hacks, like the one we had to use to get the shower started! The bed was worn in and squeaky and the pillows were lumpy, bring your own! It is very very close to the zoo and not too far from the Piers, and all you have to do is walk across the street for beach access. Overall not the worst for one night, but I do wish that I paid the extra $30-$50 to stay at the Santa Barbara inn or the Hyatt just next door!

Pleasant hotel wonderfully close to the zoo. The zoo is a don't miss. Close to the beach.

Staff was very friendly and allowed us to change our reservation very last minute! Room was very clean, but much smaller than anticipated. The room was generally quiet but you could hear some people walking past the room late at night and the sound of the highway. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, if you're looking for a nice little place that is generally less expensive than the other hotels in the area, but still decent quality, I definitely recommend!

The gal from India at check-in was awesome. Suggested things to do & provided coupons for nearby restaurants.

Semi refurbished motel thInly disguised as a boutique inn. Old musty sheets and blankets that are likely home to an infestation of bed bugs because I was bitten by them on my face and hands. I should have run when I saw yucky carpet in the bathroom. Horrifying experience.

Quiet, clean, spacious, good HVAV. Quality continental breakfast.

We had a great time in Santa Barbara. The staff at this hotel were great, very helpful and friendly. It was also a short walk to the beach from our hotel.

Great would stay again. Perfect close to beach. Very nice.

worked out fine, used two rooms for five people for three night. Was in town for a wedding. No A/C but was not a problem for our stay in early May. Parking could be a problem, but I think the motel would work it out.

We enjoyed the room, the bikes and the beach toys they provided. The best was Frank, the guy in the office!!

The manager is very helpful and fun. Across the street from the beach and near many Santa Barbara sites.

Best continental breakfast anywhere - including an ample serving of turtle eggs - unusual! Very comfy bed

A little bit overpriced. Manager was very nice and friendly.

I was in town for a wedding, and this hotel did just the trick. Hotels in Santa Barbara are pricey on average, and this is a good option for those that are a bit more budget conscience. The room was clean and well maintained, though some features were dated. WiFi lacked speed at times, Daily continental breakfast was a nice touch, and the location was perfect beach is a stone's throw away and with wedding events being held at the nearby Fess Parker we were within a short walking distance of where we needed to be. I would stay here again if I were to come back to Santa Barbara.

Great, convenient location for this quint hotel. The cover photo implies its on the beach which it's not, but only a block away its close enough. Room was great - not your normal Holiday Inn layout which makes it more interesting. Staff was very friendly & helpful and the breakfast was better than most from hotel that include it. I'd definitely go back again.

Great family stay. Bike rental experience was perfect and so close to the beach. Clean hotel, both inside the room and on the premises. But most of all, the service was fantastic.

Terrific small inn run by charming and enthusiastic owner Frank. Frank obviously loves what he does and he makes it a point to make sure you have everything you need for a pleasant stay. Please note that there is no air-conditioning (which is normally not needed this close to the beach). This is a great place to stay if you are attending a wedding at one of the big, expensive resorts near by (as we did).

It was a nice stay here. The queen beds are big and comfortable. The location is very good. We had a nice walk on the beach in the morning. My only complaint is that the shower and faucet are too noisy. I got waked up at 6 am by someone taking a bath in the first floor.
