Our room was clean and comfortable, Hotel Riu is well located for everything we wanted to do. The fire pits were a nice touch, and the hotel staff were wonderful. Bag check was very convenient, we stored our bags before and after check in instead of leaving them in our car. Breakfast was really good for an included hotel breakfast. Lots of variety and pretty fresh.

Buffet breakfast was very good. Aside from pastries, fruit, and bagels, they had warm pancakes, sausages, eggs and bacon. They were open until 10:30, which is great for those who want to sleep in.

Rooms were extremely small and tight, bathroom was not cleaned very well. Hotel seems nice in pictures and lobby area but rooms and hall areas around are very outdated and not sound proof. Staff and other guests are not the friendliest.

We had a good stay at Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf. The overall vibe felt very resort-like, which we really enjoyed. The property has a relaxed atmosphere, and it was a nice place to unwind after being out in the city. The breakfast was great with plenty of options, and the staff was very sweet and welcoming throughout our stay. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and kind. The only downside was the AC in the room. It didn’t work properly and seemed quite old. It felt like the cooling system could use an upgrade. Replacing it with a newer system would definitely improve the overall experience. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

-Spacious, clean room -breakfast buffet options are great -the housekeeping staff and bar staff were very nice. Two things that can definitely improve and get them five stars are: -the concierge that checked me in was not very friendly. Even though I joked he did not smile and looked annoyed when I had to ask him a few questions. Definitely giving out “I don’t want to be bothered” vibes. -the fan mode in the AC felt like it was not being cleaned or filter was not changed. I started coughing more and felt congested the whole stay whenever we’re in our room.
