Our family of four (two kids under the age of eight) stayed here for six nights and were generally very pleased. A few random observations: - The staff are very pleasant and there are a good number of activities planned throughout the week (e.g., hot chocolate night, root beer float event, mimosa event, crafts for kids, wine/cheese/crackers event, etc.) - Good, well-equipped fitness area - No free breakfast, except Monday AM - Two pools (one for families, one for grown-ups) but they were pretty chilly (in Feb). A hot tub too. - Lots of seniors staying here, but a good number of younger families too - Close to the beach (across a fairly busy road), but the beach has no sand -- just very large rocks - The rooms are a bit well-worn but very clean, and all feature fully-equipped kitchens - Rooms also all feature pull-out couches in the living room, but they're quite uncomfortable to sleep on

Two day stay for my wife's Birthday. Extremely satisfied with our stay, room had an ocean view. Fireplace kept us nice and cozy. Staff was very nice and helpful. Quiet and relaxing, walking distance to the beach. Short drive to Carlsbad Village and easy on easy off to the freeway. Room and kitchen had everything. looking forward to our next stay.

Great! Relaxig atmosphere! Sunset at the pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean was incredible! Close to many restaurants and sights to see and do!! We'll be back!

This was our first trip traveling with our baby and toddler, and the great staff could not have made it smoother. We had 2 pack and plays sent to our room, which our girls slept comfortably in. Steps outside our back porch, we had a sandbox area with gymnasium and a pool. Walking to the beach took only a few minutes, and the toddler loves it. Great location and staff. The kids could not have had a better time! There was a great DVD collection at the front desk as well.

Stayed 3 nights in a 2 bed/2 bath unit with our teenage daughter and her friend. Lots of space for everyone and kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals. Was also nice to have two beds in the 2nd bedroom. Location was perfect with the short walk to the beach and short drive to lots of local restaurants. We also took the coaster train (station is around the corner from the resort) down to San Diego and back one evening out for dinner and drinks. Internet connection was fine, but slow. Also, they were always out of extra towels for the room or beach. Would give 5 stars if they had a few more towels and/or the Internet was faster.

This hotel is wonderful, the staff is top notch, the room is huge. It has a full kitchen with all appliances. The location is outstanding, right across the street from the beach. The staff has events scheduled throughout the day to keep you busy if you like to stay close. The only complaints I had were the bed was not that comfortable, the AC didn't go below 75, and ants showed up on my nightstands almost every morning. I did sleep with the window open, so I assume they came from outside. All in all it was awesome, and I will be back!

Hotel was great, You have parking access under a parking garage. I like that the hotel doesn't look like a hotel its more of an apartment complex. Family friendly hotel for sure. They have plenty of activities to keep you busy the entire stay if wanted. Beach access is just a short walk. Def recommend this hotel.

I did not get the requested top floor but the first floor room had an okay view of the ocean. I only prefer top floor rooms for privacy and no stomping noise above or below me! Upon arrival, front desk receptionist was on the phone and instead of calling for help (in a room right behind her), she kept me waiting while she switched between computers and phone, Lots of kids, but it was spring break. Hotel needs to reserve a quiet/kid-free area for guests like me! Got a 9 a.m. phone call from someone at the hotel trying to sell me a condo. A little pushy with sales pitch. Check out should be extended to 12:00 noon.

Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to stay.

Great for large families.Gave everyone the space they needed for a long stay.Kitchen was very well equipped so we were able to prepare all our meals there which saved us from eating out.

My Husband and I recently booked for Our 2nd Honeymoon. Our flight was an early morning arrival so we arrived very early for check in.. the staff was very friendly completed our check in offered refreshments, keys for the amenities, and although the room wasnt ready they made us feel welcome and comfortable. They called staff to clean our reserved room and told us it would be about an hour..Since the Beach is so stunning and directly in front of the resort we choose to spend some time driving and exploring. The staff gave us directions to the closest store and even gave us a coupon for free ice. When we arrived in an hour Our Reserved room was ready but a Ocean view had come open early and they were cleaning it if would like to wait just a short time for a upgrade. We did and We are Grateful. The Amenities made it a true Honeymoon touch with the fires light heated salt water pool and the jacuzzi the size of a pool and the surf crashing just across the road took us on First Class Vacation on an Average Working Budget... Thank U for Five Days of Perfection.

This is a very nice place to stay. I had read some of the bad reviews about cleanliness but I found none of it to be true. The Kitchens had everything you could need. You can just walk across the street to the beach. The TVs with DVD players were great. The turn on fire place was very romantic. I would stay here again.

Our room was not ready at check in, but we did check in early. Sunday breakfast was super crowded, but the hotel is very nice. It has tons of things to do, the adult pool and hot tub are open til 12am, and the beach is across the street! Friendly staff and everyone was very helpful...I can't wait to stay again for longer.

Great location , next to the ocean , very clean , well maintain facility , friendly staff highly recommended for the price !

Very relaxed atmosphere, decorations and furniture-casually elegent. Great staff, maintanence staff very helpful!! Felt that we were away from home but in a friendly, home-like environment.

This hotel is shown in 5 star categories but the incident I had shows otherwise. 1. Hotel location: between Carlsbad Blvd. and Amtrak rail road really close and not quiet at all 2. I have stayed in unit 128 and the bedroom (I assume all one bedroom units are the same) is smaller then any regular 3 star hotels. 3. The resort is an RCI timeshare resort and the rules that rooms are cleaned one a week. 4. My room was not cleaned. There was urine stains on the toilet bowl and on the plastic cover. Hair on toilet and bath tub. Kitchen sing with thick dish washer detergent piled up and dried on the back of the faucet. Oven safe dish 8 inch size with food residue. 5. The resort doesn’t have a ice machine so if you need ice they give you coupons to buy at the groceries store, that is a big NO WAY. When you need ice for a drink you don’t expect to drive few miles to a grocery store not in a 5 star hotel 6. I called the front desk about cleaning the room and they told me the room will be cleaned tomorrow morning (Julie at the front desk) like I was supposed to stay in a room until the next day and wait for the service. When finally they send somebody the guy showed up with a piece of cloth without any cleaning product. It took a good hour until they decide to send somebody for. 7. I would say the entire experience is typical for a 1-2 star hotel. I should get a refund for this experience.
