I had a home A/C emergency this past weekend and had to stay in a hotel. Signed up with Choicehotels and found the best weekend price at this little gem! Perfect for a weekend getaway and cheapest in town to boot! Great service and great management. Even gave us a room with a Jacuzzi! Imagine that, inexpensive and luxury! We will definitely stay here again and again and again....without the home emergency!
I stayed here after leaving the airport late at 1 am and in a hurry based on my trust in Comfort Suites and not having time to check reviews. Never will I ever stay at this hotel again! This is not a comfort suites! It is rundown and needs major repairs and cleaning. My first room I was put in had a fan on the floor running with a horrible smell of old water and mildew. The toilet was filthy and had not been cleaned. I then told the desk staff and asked to be put on a different floor when he mentioned that all rooms on the 2nd floor were dirty! Why? Shouldn't all the rooms and hotel be cleaned after guest checkout at 11 am? The next room I was put in smelled as well every time the AC would turn on. The bathroom mirror at the bottom had black mold and the shower was dirty and cracked. The room paint and furniture was chipped and in need of replacement. The bed sheets were stained so I had to sleep on the top of the comforter with my original clothes on and no blanket. We woke up the next morning with a sore throats from which I'm assuming was from the mold and filth in the air.
At $100 a night, I expected more. My husband only stayed dispute all of the Cons because it was prepaid through Expedia and we only needed it to shower and sleep for a few hours before getting back on the road. Cons: Room door severely chipped and discolored Curtains torn (HUGE holes) Mildew on bathtub wall Caulking in bathtub coming apart/chipped Bathtub paint chipped Bottom of bathtub black (either by dirt or mildew) We arrived to breakfast at 6:24 (breakfast opened at 6:30)- The light was off; understandable because it wasn't open quite yet even though everything was out except the bagels. We just got coffee and yogurt (which we told the breakfast attendant so she wouldnt feel rushed ). At 6:30 the breakfast attendant turned the light on, we said thank you...she looked right at us but didn't respond. Just rolled her eyes and went in the kitchen. The creamer was expired and spoiled (I didn't notice until after we left because I made it before the attendant turned the light on) Pros: The bed sheets were clean and smelled fresh The Night Auditor gentleman that worked the 11-7 shift Saturday night May20th was extremely friendly
Grounds are nice and staff is friendly. Rooms need updating; the carpet shows wrote a bit of wear, doors show evidence of previous paint touch ups, and tv's are reported to be replaced soon. Still a nice facility, just needs some attention.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last night. It was a little getaway. We requested a jacuzzi room. We were very disappointed. We were not able to use the jacuzzi because it was nasty! Mold and mildew around the tub and a huge ugly stain. Needless to say we were not going to sit in that!! We Were charged for the room and even after we told management they didn't seem to care. Never again! This place needs alot of repairs.
We chose this hotel because of price. The front desk guy that checked us in needs some customer service training. He made us wait for a room and he refused to take our cell number to call when it became available. So instead we left and went to eat and came back and checked with him three more times before a room was available. It's the way he handled it that was the issue. The room had some issues, bad patch jobs on the walls, etc. nice market area next to the lobby with snack food options. Breakfast was adequate.
So.... I travel to San Antonio a few times a month for business and have had excellent stays at the Comfort Suites off of Live Oak. With it being summer I forgot many hotels would be booked. After a 15 hour day I pulled into this place and got a room. The hotel reminded me of people in a night club. From far away everything look great but with bright lights and a better look it was just down right scary. There were stains and mildew everywhere. The place looks like it had a major renovation but.... they did more cover up work than repair. I believe the 3rd floor leaks into the 2nd floor. Stay elsewhere. The staff were incredibly nice but the hotel was lacking.
Hotel looked and smelt old. The hallways were dimly lit. My room, #208, which was on the second floor, was bad. Bathroom ceiling has two big circles of mold. Mirror has some permanent stains on. The comforter has a black stain. Very smelly place. I turned on a few lights to sleep worried that some bugs might come out. Didn't even bother going to their free breakfast. I don't trust the cleanliness. Oh, as a frequent middle star rated hotel lodger, this hotel has the nerve to hold a $100.00 incidental, whereas other better hotels usually held between $20-80.
Chose this hotel for price and location. Checked in late one night and left early the next morning. Did not explore hotel but room was OK. TV remote did not work well and the A/C had to be put on 65 to make the room comfortable. Bed was fine and room was clean. No major complaints but no major praises either.
We stayed here recently while in town overnight for a funeral. There were several little items that needed to be addressed in our room #316. Only 1 out of 4 bulbs in the bathroom light worked, light bulb not working on a night stand, ceiling had bad stains from leaky roof, bathroom mirror had an unknown stain over a large portion of it. The good parts are the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good with lots of hot and cold selections.
