The 2-1/2 room suite was mostly comfortable with a workable kitchen, table and chairs, sofa, flat screen TV and modern bath (but no view). It's an old building so the wiring and ductwork are odd, leaving you with no A/C coming into the bedroom and the bedroom light and ceiling fan on the same switch, so if you want to run the fan, the light stays on. If you turn the light/fan off, the bedroom gets a little stuffy overnight. Overall, a good value for the money and very convenient to Temple Square. DO NOT ask for restaurant recommendations from the front desk, go to Yelp, TA or Open Table. The front desk was ill informed and gave us a terrible recommendation for dinner.... get your information from TA, Yelp or Open Table.
Apparently when staying here for over a week, you are only able to switch out your towels once without being charged for more. Most of the staff were very friendly, but Daniel was not. He seemed irritated and annoyed whenever we would ask a question. The hot tub was secluded in a small room, which made it overwhelmingly hot. The only way to use it was by reserving a timeslot. Rooms were not made up daily like in a regular hotel. We had to vacuum ourselves and make our own beds. When on vacation, chores are not my idea of fun! The room was actually dirty when we arrived. We found a thick layer of dust under the couch, along with food and some other items. There was something brown smeared on the bedroom door. Plus side. The room was huge! We had a suite, which included two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and small dining room. Oh, and two very LARGE closets!! Location is wonderful, but it needs to be updated.
If you're looking for fancy accommodations this is not the place, if you're looking for location , can't be better. Our one bedroom was more like an apartment, neat, clean with small kitchen( no oven) microwave, refrigerator, stove top , all the necessities. Staff very friendly and helpful and within a block of temple square and a few blocks to city center mall . If we come back to Salt Lake City would definitely stay here again.
i said back in april 2015 that if we ever went back to salt lake we would stay at the Kimball again. well he we are. we stayed in a two bedroom unit this time. heaps of room, 3 tvs large fridge, great air conditioning. a common laundry room $1 per wash 33 mins and $1 for dry 44 mins. great location. friendly staff. a great place to stay in the heart of SLC. room was clean, the beds in this unit were much better that last one. a great stay. loved it.
Very well located near the Temple, the Capitolium, lots of stores near by. This hotel rents appartments with a big main room, a room that can be TV room with a sofa-bed, a dining room and a very well equipped kitchen.
The location is a half block from N. Temple street, the north side of Temple square. 1 bedroom is spacious, comfortable. Like an apartment for amenities, full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher. The studio is a good size, with a murphy bed. Mini fridge, microwave, stove. Easy walk to attractions, many restaurants close by. Well worth the stay in Salt Lake City
This place is.very nice, & very conveniently located within walking distant to downtown, We had a One Bedroom, Full kitchen, living room and dining room with large table. The living room also had a Pull out queen sofa, pretty comfy . Very friendly staff. Secure parking lot at no charge. What we liked best is that they leave you "alone" meaning No housekeeping. Unless you really need it. They do a Towel exchange in the middle of week. It's great. They do have a Sauna & Spa that you book the time you want, therefore it's private. There is no pool. Which was fine for us. They could do with upgrading of their Beds....with New Mattresses, to make them more sleep worthy! Free WiFi also Highly recommended!!!
We loved this place for the time we were in town for a week. It's super friendly staff and coziness of the place makes it feel like home away from home. Walking distance from everything downtown- shopping, convention center. Harmons grocery store close for nutritious food needs. Clean and well cared for. Bed was a bit dated but everything was so good it didn't matter. Better than a hotel! Little spa room with hottub and sauna - make a private reservation for that and it's very relaxing!
Location, location. Wife & I stayed for a week. Our room had a kitchenette, pull down bed. We usually went to the family room (next to the gym) for free morning coffee. There was a Kureg with different coffee flavors, or tea, or hot chocolate. Directly across the street is the LDS Convention Center, which is free, and amazing to visit, along with all the other very welcoming things the Mormons do. We took a train from the east coast, and walked everywhere. SLC has a rail tram (like NOLA) that is free in the main part of the city. So we didn't care about parking. The street is safe, and comforting, but again the location is awesome. Couple blocks from the gorgeous Utah capitol building, and convenient to everything, especially if you consider public transportation. The staff is nice, Kimball is clean, and we enjoyed our room.
This room was nice. New paint and carpet, Appliances were a bit dated but functional. Convenient to downtown Salt Lake. Walking distance to the new Eccles Theater. Facility was quite and clean. Tight on parking.
