We selected this hotel solely for its location as we had an event at the conference center. We knew NOTHING about the Kimball. Check-in was quick and easy. Parking was never an issue. The rooms need Full Body mirrors and USB plugs for charging. We found our suite quite comfortable and ample. If you are not used to historic hotels (as opposed to chain hotels) this is a nice introduction. There were no surprise fees. I was charged the exact amount Orbitz told me plus the parking fee, which Orbitz had told me about it as well. All in all it was a great decision to stay at the Kimball.

I loved having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for our stay with our kids. There was a water leak in one of the bathroom ceilings and the dishwasher was broke. Other than that it was a great stay!

Very clean, but possible mobility issues

2 apartment buildings conjoined to create this funky hotel. Funky because the 2 buildings have different levels so each floor involves going up/down steps and/or ramps and still be in same floor. This could be problematic for people with mobility issues. If that’s you, Be sure to request room by the elevator, which is on level section. But the check in desk is NOT available without going up or down several steps. One of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed!!

The Kimball is in a great location for being close to Temple Square, the Conference Center and City Creek shopping Mall. When I was looking at the property details, it said there wasn't an elevator. However, there is an elevator which was absolutely great! The only drawback for me, was the fact that the tub/ shower was difficult for me to get into due to the tub being exceptionally high to step over into it. The shower door is attached on a metal glide on the tub edge and so i couldn't sit on the edge and swing my legs over. I had to have my husband help me. It was even a bit difficult for him to step over the edge and he's 6' 1". The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a kitchenette to be able to fix some of our meals there.

The hotel is fine, but expensive for what it is. The hotel is pretty old but the rooms are ok. When I stayed all the roads around the hotel were blocked closed for a Red Bull event and the hotel did not communicate this or give directions of how to park. This would prevent me from staying with them again.
