Fourvière Hôtel Lyon

Resort within the city

Fourviere Hotel was an oasis of relaxation after the bustle of seeing Lyon. The pool and spa area offered us a relaxing ending for our day. It is a very quiet place because of the large area that the former convent takes up.

Great location, easy walk with wheeled luggage, otherwise stop at information desk on first floor of airport & request they call the hotel for a free shuttle pickup (at pillar #6) right outside the main entrance to Terminal 1

OKKO Hotels Lyon Pont Lafayette

Chic comfort in amazing location

We stayed at Okko Hotel for 4 nights. It is situated in a gorgeous traditional French architecture building but the decor is chic and modern. It is in an excellent location and walkable and easily accessible to most points of interest. Our room, referred to as “cocoons,” was relatively large for city standards (e.g., NYC, Boston, Paris, London). The layout was thoughtfully designed with efficient use of space. The bathroom looked unique and futuristic. The downside is when you turn on the lights in the bathroom in the middle of the night it illuminates the entire room because the bathroom walls are made of clear glass. It’s not the most practical. “The Space” is the common area for all guests on the ground floor. Breakfast and aperitifs are served there. You can also help yourself to complementary snacks and beverages throughout the day. There’s also a fancy espresso machine. From 7-10pm you can get a free glass or beer and enjoy a generous spread of hors d’ouvres. The hotel’s concept is to make guests feel at home and be able to access drinks and snacks whenever they want. Staff is pleasant and helpful. They gave us wonderful recommendations on restaurants in the area. They also keep “the Space” clean and well replenished. We had an extremely delightful experience and would definitely stay at Okko again. I also used to teach at Lycee Édouard Herriot literally down the street, so it was an added bonus to be back in the neighborhood.
