Hotel needs updating. Great location but lacked cleanliness.

Super Convenient location. First time been to Sacramento for a business trip. This hotel helps making this 2 day trip a pleasant experience. The location is only 2 minutes away from where i attended the conference. Staff were all super nice and helpful. I was sharing the room with my colleague, the staff was able to give us a room where we each got a bit of privacy within the room. This hotel is good for family travel. The room we were in has a kitchen with Fridge and stove top. The hotel also provide utensils, dish detergent and stuff. very considerate. They provide wonderful breakfast in the morning, they even have a waffle machine where we can make fresh Belgium waffles! The batter was perfectly made (so wanted to ask for a recipe). Thank you for such pleasant experience.

Hotel was a bit hard to find, because the entrance is kind of back in the cut so you really have to be looking. Front desk staff was super and really helpful. When we got off of the elevator, the hallway smelled really clean as if the carpet had just been shampooed. A big big plus cause I hate nasty floors. The free breakfast was standard fare however, the lunch we had in the restaurant I wouldn't necessarily recommend. Parking was also overpriced. $20 per day. Overall though, it was a nice stay, the staff was great and the hotel was a short drive to our venue.

Always preferred this hotel if it fits in my budget for given weekends.

Great customer service! you will be taken care of.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been made over and is very nice. The weekend brings a young hip-hop crowd into downtown Sacramento, so after hours I was out of my element. Even with all the noise and liveliness in the lobby, my room was quiet, and once I retired for the evening, heard nothing. There was a very busy but well stocked breakfast in the morning.

wonderful, great, awsom, what more can I say, lets see

All staff were pleasant and outgoing. We did not find the parking situation a put-off as some had commented. The housekeeping was inconsistant from day to day as to how the bed was made, dishes washed, toiletries replaced. Quiet room, black out curtains worked very well. Exercise room very nice.

An upscale hotel with most of amenities one would expect, minus an attached garage requiring a walk across an alleyway which hurts when you pay $17 per night for the privilege. Fine in good weather but... No ipod connections for in house music but the rooms a well appointed with 34" LCD and pillow top beds to die for. Clean kitchenettes with stainless refrigerator, microwave, granite countertops and disposal sink. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Very nice! Thank you Marriott!

My fiance and I simply needed a place to stay for one night before flying home from a long trip out West, so we weren't exactly visiting Sacramento. Our room was perfect for any kind of stay as it was like a little studio apartment with a kitchen for a great price. The hotel lobby and our room were fresh, modern and updated in style and quality. The location was excellent and the limited staff interaction we had was positive. I did notice a lack of bellhop or valet, which could be a problem for some guests. The breakfast was above average in selection, but overall your basic, free hot breakfast. I will definitely check for a Residence Inn for my next stay wherever I am traveling, and I hope it meets the value and quality of this location.

Everything was great except I was not informed about parking fees, and the limited space on where to park.

Great location if attending an event at the Convention Center. Advertise that suites are 30% larger than the norm. The usual full breakfast, plus a bar with limited food menu. Accommodating staff. Not fancy, but covers all the basic needs. This was my third stay.

Beautiful room/suite with kitchen and bedroom. Excellent hot breakfast included. Only problem--and frustrating, was no carts or bellboy on arrival to help us to the room. Don't want to leave car packed with everything in parking garage. Staff unhelpful finding cart or help. Noticed a frail elderly couple using canes later with same problem who just kept waiting for a cart to appear. Also parking is in adjacent parking garage at $17 per day-- didn't expect the extra fee.

We were in town for the Democratic Convention. Three woman shared a suite that was absolutely perfect: two bedroom, 2 baths, a full kitchen (including dishwasher) and a comfortable living room that overlooked the Capitol rose garden. The breakfast was good, the fitness room was bigger than many hotels I've stayed in, and it was just around the corner from the Convention Center. (Even closer once we found the back entrance to the Center!) We were totally happy with this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

I arrived at 3:30 pm for a 4 pm check-in only to be told the room was not ready. I gave them my phone number and asked if they could call when it was. After an hour had passed with no call, I returned to inquire and room was ready. There are no valets or bell people at this hotel. It was a Marriott Residence Inn in the downtown of a major city. Front desk person was a bit rude. They tried to charge me for self-parking when it stated directly on the reservation parking was free. I'm not one to complain, ever, and if I was staying at the motel 6 or Super 8, you would hear no complaints, but paying close to $200 / night, one would think one should be treated differently.

Great location, right across the street from the capitol grounds, in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Only stayed one night and didn't use any of the facilities in the hotel. The free breakfast was pretty much what you would expect for a free breakfast. Not fine food, but plenty of it.

The breakfast was great. We loved the location. The room was nice but a little crowded in the living area. The biggest problem was the lack of hot water. I had to run it for at least 10 minutes to get hot water. The maintenance man came in and couldn't solve the problem. The other problem was the policy allowing pets. A dog was two doors down and he barked every time a person was in the hall. I couldn't sleep. I called the desk and no one answered. We had to wait along time to check out.

Stayed for the California International Marathon in December. Originally booked at the Sheraton, but switched when I found this two bedroom suite with full kitchen and hot breakfast for less money. The room was fantastic. Two full bedrooms with separate baths. Lots of space and very nicely furnished. Unlike some of this chains properties, this was a tower design and the rooms were one level "condos". I will always stay here when going to Sacramento.

The hotel itself is in good condition, the rooms well-equipped and clean. I have stayed at many Residence Inn properties, but this one is lacking in the level of service I am accustomed to as the manager was not on duty for the three days we stayed and the staff wasn't trained or empowered to make customer service decisions that would solve problems. First, no valet parking so it is hard to get into the hotel off the busy street since nobody is policing the narrow entrance. No carts are available and front desk will politely tell you they don't where they are. No bell hop or help getting to your room with luggage even though they don't track their carts. Traveling alone could be a problem if you have more than one load of luggage. In the room: The maid took the socks off the bed of myself and my colleague and they were never returned - lost in the wash, or the maid has cosy toes. The maid also came in at 6pm each night which means we had a messy room and bathroom in which to conduct business during the day. One evening only half of the room was cleaned. Front desk was useless since no manager throughout our stay. Very robotic with no apologies, sort of a "Gee, that's too bad" with a smile response. We had a conference and asked to check out at noon rather than 11am so we could return after our conference and then load our car. The robot said the maid needed to get into the room because a lot of people were checking in. Really? I informed her the maid wasn't going to be anywhere near our room before 3pm. Sadly, the robot wasn't programmed to bend in any direction. We finally talked to the manager who arrived right before we left who apologized for our troubles, blah, blah, blah. It was sort of too late to reverse the aggravation at that point. So, why the good rating of the hotel? Great location, good breakfast buffet, free wine on Thursday night (you'll need it), pool, spa, and gym are in great condition. The convenience of having a kitchen in your room... Good urban ambiance in the lounge area. And the guests we met here and there were just wonderful and entertaining. I would stay here again.

Was attending an event at the Convention Center, an easy walkable block and a half away. Excellent value with the full breakfast included. Several excellent restaurants nearby.
