5 stars is very generous. This is a nice hotel but definitely lacking especially at breakfast time. Although offering hot food cooked to order on the menu in the rooms, the 'chef' seemed very put out when having to actually cook food and on the third morning the breakfast menu was removed altogether. Waiting staff were unorganised and inattentive with long delays for basic things like tea. The rest of the hotel was nice - reception staff were pleasant and the rooms ok, however they did lack simple things like a chair in the room or adequate plug sockets.

Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Is it possible to classify as less than 1 star here? Terrible stay: tiny, dirty, undermaintened, noisy room, rude staff, worst attendence solving problems. Never had such a horrible experience - and it is a selfclaimed “5 star” hotel. First room was different from what I purchased (photos displayed at the Selling moment are VERY VERY different from reality - BE CAREFUL). Second room, downgraded from the first because there was no availabity, I just accepted because it was larger. But the air conditioning was not working and they didn’t switched the room that day. Imagine sleeping with 26ºC inside the room - they did not fixed! Couldn’t sleep all night long. The day after I have been changed to a third room, after a lot of discussion with the staff. Similar to the first one (AGAIN not what I have purchased), and AGAIN with broken air conditioning. Head shower for really small people (I am not tall and could not fit there). But at that moment I had zero patience to discuss once again with the rude staff, and just waited for the nightmare to finish. Disgusting!!!

Best location in city and greatest friendly and helpful staff at reception desk. Something to improve ...Breakfast should be aligned with staff and with 5stars because it is nit standard but this hotel is a best to be back at Rome

The hotel location is unique near the Forum Romana, at a walking distance from the Coloseum, from Piaza Venezia and from plenty of restaurants nearby. Excelent rich breakfest and helpful friendly staff. The room was big and equipped with everything needed. The aircondition in the room was a little bit weak. Enjoyed very much at Rome and in this beautiful hotel.

True to the name Roma is luxury at its best. We had booked for classic superior room but were greeted with a gift upgrade to a suite, wow is the only word which comes to me when I think back of my stay there. Everything is classy as it could be and major attractions are walking distance which is a big plus point for this hotel. As in other hotels in Europe the front desk staff were so very courteous and helpful can’t thank them enough. Wish I could back to stay in this beautiful hotel for couple of more days !!!!!

Lots of reviews here slating the decor and ambience, really people?? Lovely details, high ceilings and original windows in the room.Granted it was a bit dark but this added to its charm. The front of house staff were lovely and really helpful, we were on honeymoon and they went the extra mile for us. The best part though...... the location!! Everything apart from the Vatican City is within walking distance so no need for taxis. We arranged pickup from the airport through the hotel, again we worth doing and paying a bit more. Would grade the hotel 4 stars but the staff are definitely 5 stars. Bellissimo.

The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the staff is so wonderful!! We couldn’t have asked for better staff. The hotel itself....it’s like a pig with lipstick. It’s an old building with new paint, wallpaper a remodeled bathrooms. Take a closer look and it’s best up and pretty grimey. Not to mention it’s so noisy in the rooms you can barely sleep. In fact one is the only “free amenities” you are provided is ear plugs......and you will need them if you plan on sleeping. Between the screeching birds, Cars driving by and pedestrians talking it’s nearly impossible to sleep. The windows are old and original to the building so there’s no silence. There were also no robes, no washcloths, no clock/usb ports in our room. The St Regis is a 5 star and in the same district and there is NO COMPARISON between these two hotels. I’d say this was a 3 star at best. Again, the staff was wonderful but I’d never stay here again. Look elsewhere!!

I am really surprised by some comments. Clearly this hotel is one of the cheapest in Rome. However, I had great time: my room was fabulous, the staff was so friendly and helpful, it’s cleaned and relaxed. I had better time in this hotel compared to the Cavialeri. On the top of everything, Roma Luxus is near all major monuments so it’s so easy to visit and come back at the hotel. I definitely recommend this great place!!!

The hotel is located within walking distance of all the major sights, which is very convenient. Our room was spacious with a high ceiling, and the décor was lovely. Great bathroom too, and the best shower I've ever used in a hotel! Air-con kept us wonderfully cool even when it reached almost 40 degrees Celsius outside. The staff are very friendly; they helped us with maps for getting the Metro. Also, there are fresh water fountains all over Rome and one is just outside the hotel - make sure you bring a reusable water bottle to avoid over-priced bottled water!

Usual story.... old, impractical and unserviceable building gets a coat of vibrantly coloured paint and it gets re-badged as ‘boutique’ with the price tag to match. Some of the other reviewers have made all the points: no wardrobe or drawers, 12-inch deep steps to the bathroom, a day bed with no cushions, cheap bed linen, Ikea glasses and a bedside table that had space for only one of said ikea glasses. Staff were wonderful though, so the three stars go to them. Thanks for being so welcoming
