With free wifi, compact gym, free parking and airport shuttle. The hotel has a large outdoor terrace, which offers views over the swimming pool. Friendly staff and a good restaurant. Easy access to Vatican City and town centre.
Great food and excellent service in the Hotel restaurant, especially from Mr. Giandomenico. The Hotel room was clean and very quiet. Also the location of the Hotel is good with all big sightseeing highlights quickly reachable.
This is a fine hotel that has friendly staff, very good breakfast buffet, spacious rooms and good facilities. The only downside that it is a little off the road. It is a little uphill so there is some street climbing when reaching it on foot and it is rather distant from the bustling sites in Rome. The public transport also is not very close. However, it is one fine hotel and I enjoyed my stay there.
Cheaper as it is away from the centre, was told my superior room was defined by parquet flooring and a few more metres! I would hate to have seen a standard. Have stayed in many NH and this, roomwise, was the worst. Not bad, just average. Breakfast, included, was however, an excellent spread
We found staying at the Roma Villa Carpegna was good value for the money, the rooms were excellent with good sound proofing and the staff were more than helpful when seeking local visits. We did not require the hiring of a car as the local bus was no more than two hundred yards from the hotel at a price of one euro for multiple trips within a certain time scale. you can also take a the tourist scenic bus which offers hop on off, this allows you a trip around Rome to decide where you want visit most ,ie the Vatican, Cistine Chaple ,Trevi fountain, Coliseum ,Spanish Steps and many more. A great location with lots to see and do.
I booked this hotel as we stayed in a N H hotel in Florence, which was excellent and thought all of the hotels would be up to the same standard I was wrong. This one had a very nice reception area but reception staff were mainly male and did not exactly give a warm greeting. They need to realize a smile goes a long way The public areas were clean and bright but the bedroom, oh dear. There was wallpaper coming off the wall, paint flaking of the bathroom ceiling and the carpet was very badly stained. definately in need of redecoration The room was also much smaller than the one in Florence but I must say it was clean There was a swimming pool but it was always closed. The hotel was a bit out of the centre of Rome but you can easily walk down or get the bus There was also a lot of coach parties which arrived and left at all hours and could be very noisy
Stayed here for one night. The hotel is outdated. The rooms could need a renovation. The bathroom door and the carpet has stains (see pictures). Breakfast was OK (including fresh fruit juices, sweet pastries and cold cuts), nothing special though. If the hotel would get a renovation, I would come back.
The hotel has good standards, but one does still not feel very comfortable. Positive: - clean - friendly stuff - good breakfast - free parking - location (Vatican can be reached by walking) Negative: - dark rooms (at least our) - natural light as well as artificial light is very poor - average decorated - no tourist information at the reception
We got a great deal through Secret Escapes. Hotel is outside Rome and takes about 45 mins to get to the Spanish Steps or the centre by public transport. The cost of a daily bus / metro ticket is 6 Euro. Hotel room was big and had a very comfortable bed. Food in the evening is basic but ok. The breakfast is really very good. Staff were helpful throughout our stay.
Just back from Rome stayed at this Hotel Had a great time the Staff were very friendly ,reception ,bar staff ,breakfast and dinner staff and also the cleaning staff could not fault them .Rooms very comfortable the whole Hotel very nice inside and out.the Staff spoke good English. I took my wife as a birthday treat that no one in the Hotel knew about so I thought but when we returned at night there was a Birthday wish from the Staff and a few nicely decorated cakes . A really nice tough . I would definately recommend this Hotel and if back in Rome this is where I would stay 10 out of 10 well done NH Roma Villa Carpegna
