Myself and my partner visited Rome for a long weekend for my birthday celebrations. We are both well travelled and are used to staying in 4/5* hotels/apartments so we were interested to see how we'd cope staying in a small little guesthouse for our short weekend. We arrived early on Friday morning and communication with Ilaria, the guest house owner was fantastic in the lead up to our stay. She was always very helpful and also arranged transport from Rome Fiumicino airport to the guesthouse for us, with their designated shuttle driver. This was 55euro each way for anyone who may be considering the transfer. It was easy for us to find as we had our driver! On arrival, the guest-house is down a back street in tall apartment type block buildings. The guest-house itself was pleasant and warm on arrival, and Ilaria was their to greet us and also showed us a map of local areas. The room itself was lovely, very spacious with everything you may need, a small iron, hair dryer, room safe, heating & evening heated flooring in the bathroom which was a small luxury in the cold weather. The TV is small and only in Italian, but we weren't there to watch TV! The area is quite central so at night, you can hear outside the windows with local public but this didn't bother us. We were given a set of our own room keys so could come and go whenever we liked which was great. The location was very good, but there are not that many options for eating around the guesthouse, we found it better to venture out slightly. We had a nice, comfortable stay at the Maison Colosseo and had no issued with the room or accommodation at all, it was pleasant. Thank you Maison Colosseo for your hospitality!
Lovely little guest house in an excellent location about 10 mins walk to the Colosseum. Rooms very big and lovely big bed. Great shower. Only let down is they are very echoey, and noise is magnified. Same with doors opening and closing, but seemed to stop about 10pm ish. Breakfast is okay, continental left in your room for morning. Coffee is beautiful. I would stay again, but only if a short break not for any length of time.
We stayed from 5th August to 9th August 2017 as we were attending our friends wedding in Rome. Before we had arrived I was in contact with Ilaria who advised we could check in as soon as we arrived at 12pm and she would be there to greet us. Ilaria checked us in and explained how to access the rooms and also gave us a map of the local area and highlighted the main attractions. We stayed in the Minerva room which had a confortable double bed lounge chair and table with 2 chairs. We had a fridge and also a safe too. The temperature in Rome was a constant 38oc so the air conditioning was a god send. Our room was servied each day and the light continental breakfast supplied each day was an added bonus. I would highly reccommend this guest house to anyone who is wanting to stay in Rome and be within walking distance of att the main attractions. I will be sure to visit again on my next trip to Rome.
We spent two nights in this lovely comfortable room. It was a last minute booking and our hostess was friendly and very accommodating. Clean, comfortable room with a lovely bathroom and a great shower. Breakfast is a self service with juice, yoghurt and coffee provided. You also received croissants - in a packet - and it is surprisingly fresh and very tasty! When a guest house puts Nutella out for breakfast - it's love..... Great location with wonderful restaurants less than 100m away!! Not to mention a five minutes walk from the Colosseum. Can definitely recommend this guest house and when we return to Rome we will definitely be staying here again.
Me & my Fiance spent two nights here in April 2017 and we absolutely loved it! Beautiful and modern decor, spacious rooms. Quite difficult to find initially but only as our transfer dropped us a little while away and didn't give us the best directions. But once we found it everything was fine! Ilaria the guest house owner was very friendly showed us around the guest house and gave us a map of Rome. We were given a set of keys so we could come and go as we pleased which was brilliant, felt like our own little apartment. The guesthouse provides a small breakfast and coffee and stocks the mini fridge everyday with no extra cost. It's literally in the most perfect location... literally at the end of the road is the colosseum which I would recommend taking a walk by in the evening to see it all lit up. There's an Irish bar close by too called shamrocks that sells really good cocktails & their four cheese pizza is unreal! If your considering the hop on hop off bus tour aswel the bus stop is very close to the guest house, only a short walk. Plenty of shops, restaurants, ice cream bars close by also the Nutella gelato was exceptionally nice! Had the best two nights here and wanted to return straight away! Hoping I will one day! Thankyou for the hospitality Ilaria :) x
Really lovely stay at the guest house, although small we definitely had enough space and at such a good price. 5 minute walk from the colosseum. Really lovely and helpful staff gave us some good restaurants as well as best places to visit. Thank you!
We enjoyed our 5 nights at Maison Colosseo very much! It is a typical European guest house and was pretty much as expected from the description on the website. Our room was clean and well kept, the bathroom was modern (huge plus!)- overall an exceptional value for the money. We also loved the neighborhood, Monti. It's a bit off the beaten path so less overwhelming than some of the tourist spots yet still very convenient. There are plenty of cafes close by and a 24 hour market if the in-room breakfast isn't enough to get you going. We appreciated the in room mini-fridge for snacks as well.
We stayed at Maison Colosseo for two nights in March , this was a real find , less than 500 m from the coliseum and in a district where real people live , great location although a little difficult to find tucked way behind giant doors in an anonymous apartment block ) , fantastic room at a good price and a really friendly host ilaria, we would definitely stay again
Stayed at this guest house at the end of February with my other half for their birthday. Lovely place that is a 5min walk from the Colosseum. Illaria who managed our check in and stay was very kind and helpful, offering her WhatsApp to keep in contact should we have any issues. She also arranged our transfers and was very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are nice and breakfast is provided in the room daily. Overall a lovely stay for a couple of nights and great location for easy access to the sights of Rome.
The hotel it's self was a present surprise, the interior and exterior where completely different - From the outside it looks rough and in a not so fancy part of Rome but it was very nice inside Quite basic but comfortable I would defiantly recommend ! And the lady there was so helpful! Only bad points was that the walls are very thin and we had a very very loud group in the room next to us and we didn't sleep out last night 😩 Plus the taxis went on strike and we almost missed our flight!!!!!!
